WHO Wants To Be A Millionaire fans have been left baffled after a famous face used one of their lifelines on an ‘easy question’.
The hit ITV quiz show, presented by Jeremy Clarkson, continued on Sunday night with its new series.
ITVKrishnan Guru-Murthy left fans stunned after failing to get an ‘easy question’ right[/caption]
ITVThe final episode of the who quiz show aired last night[/caption]
ITVKrishnan had to use his lifeline and ask the audience for their help[/caption]
Krishnan, 54, had specifically requested a question on 90s indie bands but then struggled to correctly answer it.
Jeremy, 64, asked him: “Which of these bestselling albums features greyhound racing in its cover artwork?”
Possible answers
A) Divide byEd Sheeran
B)Parklife by Blur
C) Parachutes byColdplay
D) 21 byAdele
While the correct answer was Parklife by Blur, Krishnan asked for the audience’s help.
After choosing to use his lifeline, the studio came back with an almost unanimous answer.
Reacting, the newsreader told Jeremy: “Parklife, I should have known that.”
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire fans then took to social media in their droves following the scenes as they branded it an “easy question”.
One wrote: “Says he wants a 90s indie band question then doesn’t know the answer to this one.”
A second wrote: #AskTheAudience in play and a pretty definitive answer…”
“‘I want 90’s Indie Music’. Not a f***ing clue it’s Parklife by Blur. One of the most iconic album covers ever,” fumed a third.
While a fourth blasted: “So clearly he knows f*** all about 90s indie music.”
Despite the rocky game, Krishnan still walked away with an impressive £64,000 for Duchenne UK – a charity that raises funds to end Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is available to stream now on ITVX.
Who has won the jackpot on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire has offered hundreds of hopeful contestants the chance to become millionaires, but there has only been a handful of lucky winners.
There have only been five real winners so far on the show as Charles Ingram, who was the third winner of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? in 2001, had his claim to the prize thrown out because of cheating allegations.
The official winners are…
Judith Keppel
In 2000, garden designer Judith Keppel made quiz show history as she became the first ever winner of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. Judith is also the only woman ever to have won the million-pound prize.
David Edwards
Former physics teacher David became the second contestant to win the top prize in April 2001. Following his success, Edwards went on to compete in both series of Are You an Egghead? in 2008 and 2009.
Robert Brydges
Oxford-educated banker Robert became the third Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? champion when he won the quiz show several moths after David in 2001. Robert has stayed out of the limelight since his win.
Pat Gibson
World champion Irish quiz player Pat won the show in 2004. Amazingly Pat had TWO of his lifelines still available for his final question, something no other winner has managed.
Ingram Wilcox
Ingram came close to losing on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2006 as he had used all his lifelines up at the £32,000 mark, but in a shocking twist he went on to scoop the jackpot.
