A ‘shocked’ Dancing on Ice star slammed a brutal decision which saw him and Chelsee Healey become the first booted off the show.

Hollyoaks actress Chelsee, 36, took to the ice on the ITV show this year, alongside other famous faces.

She was paired with pro skater Andy Buchanan, but bowed out after a shocking format twist.

Speaking at the Fake Bake re-launch event this week, Andy addressed the pair’s departure from the competition.

He said: “I’m a little sad I’m not going to be in the show with Chelsee anymore. I saw her potential, I think she could have gone way further.

“I think she should still be in the show. But that’s the way it goes, it’s reality TV and she should be really proud of everything she did out there. I’m proud of her.”

He added: “It was my first time I was really shocked on the show. I thought we’d be in for quite some time.

“She had the skating, the lifts, her skating was on the rise. She was getting better.

“I thought she would have gotten higher marks for presentation.”

Chelsee lost her place in the competition after bosses scrapped the skate-off and sent the celebrity with the fewest combined votes and judges’ scores home.

Viewers were outraged by the format change – taking to social media to share their frustrations.

One person was so angry that they even sent a complaint to the regulator, Ofcom.

They penned: “THIS IS A F***ING RIGGED JOKE. THERE WERE FIVE SKATING TONIGHT, SIX LAST WEEK. PERCENTAGES ARE ALL RIGGED. CHELSEE HAS BEEN DONE OVER.”

Continuing, the viewer wrote another tweet, which read: “I will not rest. Justice will be served.

“Count your days. You cannot scam people even if the votes are free.”

In addition, they shared shared a screen grab of their Ofcom complaint alongside their rant, which said in the ‘Your complaint’ subject section: “Chelsee Healey VOTING SCAM!”

Another fan added: “Rigged out! The whole split voting was extremely stupid and extremely suspicious. Chelsee deserved better.”

While a third chimed in: “You’ll pay for this @dancingonice you did her dirty by getting rid of the skate off… she wouldn’t have gone and you know it!”

A fourth remarked: “oh our chelsee has been robbed! im fuming.”

MYSTERY hills have been found on Mars sparking hopes scientists can solve the planet’s biggest mystery from billions of years ago.

The Red Planet is dotted with thousands of mounds containing billions of years worth of history including if Mars ever had water.

Over 15,000 of these mounds point outwards across an area the size of Texas on the planet’s Chryse Planitia, located north of the equator.

Scientists discovered the hills in images taken by NASA and the European Space Agency.

Analysis published in the Nature Geoscience Journal on January 20 reveals how these mounds could solve one of the biggest mysteries about the planet.

It is likely that the thousands of mounds were created by water once being on Mars, the research explains.

The team has found that the mounds are what remains of ancient highlands that were once on the planet billions of years ago, which eventually eroded away to what is there now.

This explanation that there was once water on Mars could further explain why the northern and southern hemispheres of the planet are so different.

Scientists believe this could be attributed to erosion caused by water between 3.8 and 4 billion years ago.

Planetary scientist and postdoctoral researcher at London’s Natural History Museum Dr. Joe McNeil is the lead study author.

He told CNN: “Our findings reveal that water was present both at the surface and in the subsurface of this region over geological timescales, between 4.0 (billion) and 3.8 billion years ago.

“The mounds were originally part of the highlands, composed of hundreds of metres of clay-rich rock that formed in the presence of liquid water.

“Their erosion over hundreds of kilometers shows that the highlands extended much (farther) north than they do today, providing new insights into the ancient geography and hydrology of Mars.”

It is hoped that in the near future, scientists can get closer to these mounds and conduct further examination to get more answers.

The mounds are located near the landing site of the ESA’s ExoMars Rosalind Franklin rover which is scheduled to land on the planet in 2028 where it could investigate the hills.

McNeil said: “Each mound is made up of a series of layers, each of which is a record of a past event.

“The oldest are at the bottom and are made up of rock that is around four billion years old.

“For a geologist, looking at these layers is like looking for pages of a book – each one tells a story!”

There is “incredible variety in their structure,” the scientist added noting that some are 1,800 feet tall.

He compared them to the buttes and measas found in the red-sand desert of Monument Valley on the Arizona-Utah border.

However, these Martian mounds are not only 800 feet taller, they also cover an area 2,000 times larger than the 145 square miles of Monument Valley.

McNeil explained that there is evidence that the planet once had rivers and lakes, but he hopes that further research will help scientists discover if there ever was an ocean on Mars or any life within it.

“They are a prime location for future missions aimed at uncovering whether Mars ever had an ocean and whether life could have existed there,” he told Phys.Org.

The penalty was a controversial one as Joel Veltman was judged to have handled the ball after a VAR check on 37 minutes which left Brighton fans and players livid. 

Referee Tim Robinson didn’t give the penalty initially as he felt it was a coming together of Veltman and Beto. 

He was then called to the monitor and it didn’t take him long to change his mind, while cheeky Brighton fans waved money at him in the background. 

In what seemed like a technical cock up, VAR then showed the replay on the big screen, sending Brighton supporters ballistic, while the livid players swarmed him too, with Bart Verbruggen booked for protesting. 

But it kicked off at full time as players from both teams were caught in a brawl in the Everton area.

Once the players were separated the Everton squad went over to celebrate the win with the travelling supporters.

David Moyes saw out his 700th Premier League match in style thanks to Ndiaye’s goal.

Disaster struck for Everton with Dominic Calvert-Lewin limping off the pitch after pulling up with a hamstring injury off the ball just 13 minutes in.

The Toffees striker was unable to continue after appearing to over-extend his hamstring when landing. 

He made way for Beto and as things stand, Everton now have just one fit senior striker in their first team squad.

Brighton cranked things up a notch with a wide Lamptey free-kick curling towards the back post before Jordan Pickford punched it away. 

The game exploded into life when there was the VAR check for what looked like a blatant handball from Veltman. 

Cue Senegalese midfielder Ndiaye’s first goal from the spot in league football. 

Brighton knew they needed some oomph, and made a switch at the break as Brajan Gruda was hooked off for Georginio Rutter.

It certainly gave the hosts a pep in their step as Kaoru Mitoma lashed a curling shot just wide of the far post and a sprawling Pickford. 

Fabian Hurzeler’s side were peppering shots into the box, but it was mostly a desperate scramble of wild, deflected attempts with nothing on target. 

Lewis Dunk fired a peach of a long-range pass straight onto the path of Rutter who cracked a shot agonisingly close. 

The Toffees had a go up the other end with Beto rushing toward goal but lashing into the side netting.
