Both players were named in the Ireland Six Nations squad last week by interim boss Simon Easterby after long layoffs.

The Leinster number two picked up a severe anterior cruciate ligament injury in last year’s first test of the drawn series against world champions South Africa.

While James Lowe has been out since November as he struggled with a calf issue.

The win was The Blues’ 14 win from as many games this season as they maintained their perfect URC and Champions Cup record.

Sick moment Israeli hostages are given ‘framed certificate and keychain’ by Hamas terrorists before they are released

THIS is the sickening moment the latest freed Israeli hostages were forced to show off twisted Hamas “leaving gifts” before their release.

A chilling propaganda video by the terrorists shows them reportedly handing the young Israelis a framed certificate and keychain as a grim reminder of their 15-month nightmare in Gaza.

Each brave soldier was believed to have been handed a vile ‘prisoner release form’[/caption]

The twisted spectacle was captured and released by Hamas hours after Karina Ariev, 20, Daniela Gilboa, 20, Naama Levy, 20, and Liri Elbag, 19, were handed over to the Red Cross by balaclava-wearing Hamas thugs.

Each brave soldier was believed to have been handed a vile “prisoner release form” along with a certificate and keychain with the Palestinian flag.

The disturbing presents all came in a brown bag with the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s armed wing, coat of arms on the front.

It shows a masked fighter from the terror group wielding a gun with the now infamous green flag of Hamas in the background.

The same emblem was on the framed certificate along.

The hostages were also forced to wear badges with their personal details on a lanyard with a Palestinian flag pattern, the video shows.

These female IDF soldiers were part of the second set of hostages freed in the fragile ceasefire between the two groups.

The first group – also all women – were given the same sick mementos of their torment.

The hostages were kept in SUVs as huge crowds of Palestinians gathered to watch the historic moment.

The harrowing footage from early on Saturday shows the woman smiling and speaking to one another in the back of a car as gunmen sit with him.

Outside of the SUV, dozens of camo-wearing and rifle-holding terrorists formed a barrier between the crowds.

They drove up to a number of Hamas cars, Red Cross SUVs, and a podium where the girls were officially handed over in the sadistic stunt.

Huge Palestinian flags were waved in the watching crowd and one person held a poster of the assassinated Hamas boss Yahya Al-Sinwar.

The clip released from Hamas’ perspective even shows a woman throwing confetti over the terrorists as they celebrate the trade.

A child is even filmed wrapped up in a Hamas flag with the murderous group’s headband on.

She is holding a gun which is almost as tall as her body with a beaming smile on her face.

The thuggish terrorists then proceed to formally sign documents confirming each hostage’s safe release.

Dozens of cameramen filmed the podium as a Red Cross worker cosigned the papers to make the handover official.

The four hostages were then paraded on stage for the final time by Hamas as they held hands and waved.

This tense and fragile exchange was quickly ended as Red Cross cars were escorted through the crowds of cheering onlookers and out of the square to their freedom.

The IDF later confirmed the women were transferred to the Israeli military and Shin Bet forces in the Gaza Strip.

The force said on X: “The four returnees are now being escorted by an elite IDF unit and Shin Bet force on their way to Israel, where they will undergo an initial medical evaluation.

“IDF commanders and soldiers salute and embrace the returnees on their way to Israel.”

Their families were then emotionally reunited with their girls for the first time in over 477 days.

Back on October 7, the four girls were all snatched from the Nahal Oz military base in Southern Israel in a terrifying attack.

Hamas militants released horrifying footage of the girls covered in blood as they were tied up in front of murderous invaders.

The young soldiers were also pushed up against a wall as a militant screamed “take pictures of them”.

Heartwarming images showed the girls’ parents hugging them as they released tears of joy.

In return, 200 Palestinian prisoners were handed over to Hamas.

DEAL-BREAKER

Hamas was accused of breaking the terms of the hostage arrangement with the latest releases.

The female soldiers were let go before the dozens of civilian women Israel still say are being held, according to IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari.

He said in a televised statement on Saturday: “Hamas did not abide by its obligation in the deal to free civilian women first.”

Hagari called for the immediate release of prisoner Arbel Yehud, whom Israel believes to be alive, as well as Shiri Bibas and her children, “who we have heavy concerns for their fate.”

The Bibas brothers, aged only two and five, are still thought to be trapped inside the Hamas hellholes under Gaza.

Israel’s spokesperson says he expects Israel will receive more information about the Bibas family soon.

What happened on October 7?

ON OCTOBER 7, 2023, Hamas launched a brutal surprise attack on Israel, marking one of the darkest days in the nation’s history.

Terrorists stormed across the border from Gaza, killing over 1,200 people — most of them civilians — and kidnapping 250 others, including women, children, and the elderly.

The coordinated assault saw heavily armed fighters infiltrate Israeli towns, kibbutzim, and military bases, unleashing indiscriminate violence.

Innocent families were slaughtered in their homes, and graphic footage of the atrocities spread across social media, leaving the world in shock.

And as well as attacking people in their homes, they stormed the Nova music peace festival – killing at least 364 people there alone.

The massacre triggered a swift and massive retaliatory response from Israel, escalating into a full-scale war.

The attack not only reignited long-standing tensions in the region but also left deep scars on both sides of the conflict, setting the stage for the 15 months of devastation that followed.

MAFS UK star furious and upset as she’s AXED from reunion show for ‘being too boring’

A MARRIED At First Sight UK star has shared how she is upset that she was axed from the reunion show.

Charlie Curtis, 30, shot to fame in the last series of MAFS UK, with the brunette beauty paired up with Eve Reid, 31.

Charlie has revealed that she was left out of the MAFS reunion[/caption]

When Charlie appeared on MAFS UK, fans called for her bride Eve to be axed from the show for “mentally torturing” her when she left her in tears.

While on the show, the other brides fell out with Charlie, unaware of how things were playing out for viewers at home.

And now, ahead of the E4 show’s reunion, which is due to air soon, Charlie has revealed how she feels “really upset” after they never invited her to take part.

Speaking about the reunion show, which is due to air next month, Charlie said: “I wasn’t invited,” in a new chat with MailOnline.

“It really upset me, I was so upset when they told me I wasn’t going though,” she said.

“I felt so disheartened, I want my last… to go back with the girls when I’m friends with them now, no one saw any of us being friends on screen.”

Charlie added that “so many apologies have been said” and she hasn’t been able to talk about that.

“It is frustrating, as I keep saying, everything happens for a reason,” she added.

Charlie then revealed how she found out she wasn’t invited to the reunion, saying how it came to light in the group chat all of the cast members have.

INVITE LOST IN THE POST

She said that everyone was talking about the reunion in the group chat, and she thought her invite must have gotten lost in the post.

“Then I got a call from CPL and they said my story is over so like there’s nothing to follow,” she added.

“They asked me who do you talk to, is there any charm you have with anybody, I said no, I’m boring aren’t I? So they didn’t invite me, so I was like, ‘cool’,” she said.

She then gushed about her new relationship to the publication, explaining how they have been together for around five months.

“We’re in love but we’re not going to be getting married any time soon, we’re taking it day by day,” she swooned.

Here's who you can expect in the Mafs 2024 cast:

Charlie previously spoke to The Sun about her reunion axe.

‘ANNOYED ABOUT IT’

Last year she admitted she was “annoyed” by the omission – claiming E4 bosses believed her story to be “over.”

She said: “I mean apparently my story was over by the end of the series.

“I am a bit annoyed about it I’m not going to lie, but I guess everything happens for a reason so maybe there was a reason I wasn’t supposed to be there.

“It’s time to close the door on that chapter.”

Sunderland cursing bitter rivals Newcastle as they play huge role in Black Cats blowing chance to close gap on top two

SUNDERLAND were left cursing bitter rivals Newcastle after blowing the chance to close the gap on the top two.

And Miron Muslic kept his promise he would not leave the North East a beaten man as Nathanael Ogbeta secured a 2-2 draw at the death for the basement boys.

The Pilgrims were able to use Newcastle’s training facilities[/caption]

The Pilgrims boss revealed he called in a favour as they travelled up 24 hours early on Thursday to avoid Storm Eowyn.

Muslic, who made five changes from Wednesday’s 5-0 defeat to Burnley, revealed: “We arrived here having the opportunity to use the training facilities of Newcastle United.

“I used my contact with Paul Mitchell, the sporting director, so they gave us all the facilities we needed. We actually used this storm to work on the pitch and I think it was good.

“We stayed together for two days so we could use it for some tactical sessions and some video analysis and just to get a little bit closer and to know each other. So in the end the possible disadvantage was actually an advantage.

“With the hospitality of Newcastle United,  that was the only thing with it. They told me I cannot lose the game over here. So I kept my word.”

Sunderland, meanwhile, were poor all afternoon as Regis Le Bris’ side face the prospect of potentially being four points off automatic promotion by Monday.

They were nearly punished when Anthony Patterson’s clearance fell straight to Adam Randall, but the keeper managed to scramble back to save his long-distance strike.

After a poor opening half hour, the impatient crowd had something to cheer as Sunderland registered their first shot on target when Dan Neil’s vicious volley was tipped wide by the full-stretched Conor Hazard.

They had to wait until the 42nd-minute for their next one as the goalie pushed away Dennis Cirkin’s diving header and then his header hit team-mate Luke O’Nien’s and went wide in a moment that summed up their first half.

It should have been Plymouth ahead at the start of the second.

Ryan Hardie’s last goal came back in September when the Pilgrims beat Sunderland at Home Park.

And he could not have asked for a better opportunity to break his 133-day duck as Mustapha Bunda’s teasing cross found him completely unmarked six yards out – only for him to head off target.

Fortunately for him he made amends as the basement boys stunned the Stadium of Light.

Chris Mepham failed to deal with a cross into the box, it deflected out to Hardie, and he managed to rifle a low cross-cum-shot off Patterson’s leg into the net for an own goal.

Though any hopes of securing a first league away win of the season quickly evaporated inside two minutes as Hume’s cross from the right was hooked in first-time by Wilson Isidor.

Sunderland were nearly caught again by a sucker punch when Patterson managed to tip Callum Wright’s inswinging shot onto the post.

And it proved to be a pivotal moment as the Black Cats turned it round just 14 minutes after falling when Trai Hume controlled Enzo Le Fee’s free-kick and rifled home.

That looked to be it – but slack Sunderland had been playing with fire all afternoon and they eventually got burned in the 90th minute.

Ogbeta pounced at the back post as the home defence failed to clear Darko Gyabi’s ball to leave Le Bris pulling his hair out.

The Sunderland manager, whose side face a short trip down the A19 to sixth-placed Middlesbrough for the Tees-Wear derby next, said: “We did talk in the week about taking the opportunities when they arise and that opportunity was there with Sheffield United losing on Friday night. So it’s a big opportunity missed.

“Yeah, I don’t think like that really, because we’ll make the summary at the end of the season and it’s not just a question of round, it’s a question of total at the end.”

The Carlow woman, who has been living in Dublin for the last 25 years told how she is “over the moon” with her new job and admitted she “can’t quite believe it”.

Kathryn and her husband Padraig McLoughlin have two kids together, Ellie and Grace.

And although adjusting to the early mornings is a big change, the 45-year-old believes it will work well for her family.

Kathryn told VIP Magazine: “It is a big move for me with routine and getting up early. One of the biggest decisions was the family because I am not going to be around in the mornings anymore.

“I will be finished at 10am and will be there in the afternoons, which actually will work nicely for us with the girls the age they are at now.”

The much-loved broadcaster has presented RTE shows like Operation TransformationIreland’s Fittest Family, No Place Like Home and The Voice of Ireland.

She also has vast experience on radio, having worked on RTE Radio 1 for years, but this will be her first full-time, fixed-term gig in broadcasting.

The former Operation Transformation host explained: “For years I have been a juggling Jenny! In fact, I have never had a five day a week job – in one place!

“It is slightly terrifying! I have always liked the way I have never really know which way my life is going to go. If I am going to have a family, if Operation Transformation is coming back. If if if….”

The mum-of-two shared that her move to full-time breakfast on Dublin’s station Q102 is down to providing for her young family.

“I think people think that if you are in TV, you don’t have to work a day in your life. My work is very much about paying the bills and ensuring myself and Padraig are providing for the family. But at the same time, I have never taken a job that I haven’t given 100 per cent to.”

After launching her very own breakfast radio show Kathryn vowed to “give it my all”.

The star will kick off weekday mornings with her show from 7am to 10am, when Ryan Tubridy will take over the airwaves until 1pm.

Thomas, 45, said she’s ready to put her “own stamp” on the show in the New Year — but vowed to also continue with her RTE projects.

JOINING JOY

She told The Irish Sun: “I really want to give it my all, create something great and enjoy taking on this new challenge.

“Getting to put my own stamp and creative licence on this show is so exciting. I am really looking forward to working on RTE television projects in 2025 too.”

The Carlow woman also hopes the radio show will be a “fresh listen”.

She said: “We want The Morning Show with Kathryn Thomas to be a laid back, fresh listen that will brighten up your day, no matter what side of the bed you get out of.

“Irish people are the best in the world for good chats and chinwags and there’s no-one better than the Dubs for a bit of banter. So I’m thrilled and honoured to have the opportunity to be a small but important part of people’s day.”

Kathryn is excited to work with the new Q102 team saying: “I have to say I love all of the people that I’ve met so far at Q102.

“They are relaunching the station, rebranding and with their brand new studios, they have big plans for the station. No pressure!”

I’m a beauty fan but save money in Boots by switching to six bargain buys – the 75p shampoo and conditioner is a must

THE cost of beauty essentials is no joke, but one savvy shopper has found a few bargain buys to help ease the pressure on your wallet.

Kat Leech, who is better known online as Kat Saves, recently took to social media to share some of the best beauty buys from Boots for anyone on a budget.

The recommendations came from her own loyal followers, many of whom swear by the staples on the shelves.

First up, Kat showed off the Boots Everyday shampoo and conditioner, which are just 75p each and come in a delicious coconut and vanilla scent – what’s not to love?

“That is an absolute bargain,” Kat said in the viral video.

And if you’ve got curly locks, the Boots Curl Creme might be the one for you.

It’s just £1.99 for a large tub and one hair fan said it’s “excellent if anyone is looking for something affordable.”

One shopper even left a review online and wrote: “Have used this for many years, have dry highlighted soft fine hair and curls. My curls like it and it is not too sticky. It is very good value for money.”

And another agreed: ” can honestly say I have spent my life looking for something a product that does everything this does!

“I have spent so much money and this product does far more than any expensive brand I have ever purchased!”

When it comes to stocking up on staples, you can’t forget suncream.

According to Kat, many people reccomended the Soltan range – and with prices starting from just a few quid, it’s no wonder why.

“Multiple people told me the Soltan sun cream range is the best out there,” Kat said in the clip.

You can pick from different products, including the Soltan Protect & Moisturise Lotion SPF15, which has an average rating of 4.7 our of five and is perfect for some light protection during the winter months.

Or if you’ve got little ones why not try the Kids Protect & Moisturise Suncare Roll On SPF50+ for £4.

And if you’re someone who always needs to have hand gel in their bag, don’t bother forking out for pricey bottles.

Get your hands on the Boots Aloe Vera Had Gel for just 80p.

Likewise, the shop’s Coconut and Almond Hand Cream was a firm favourite of shoppers, and at £1.50 for a 100ml bottle it’s east to see why.

The product description online reads: “Enriched with coconut, almond and vitamin e to help fortify the skin’s natural moisture barrier, preventing moisture loss by maintaining skin’s hydration levels.”

“Another Boots hand cream you need to try is the Vitamin C Brightening Hand and Nail Serum, apparently it is fantastic,” Kat noted in the Instagram clip.

Suitable for all skin types, the serum is formulated with vitamin C and YUZU extract.

“This hand and nail serum helps to moisturise and restore dry skin for healthy-looking and nourished hands and nails,” the product description notes.

Top 3 beauty products every woman should be using

Hayley Walker, Beauty Expert at Justmylook shared the holy-grail products every woman needs to be using.

A cleanser, SPF, and hair oil are must-haves within beauty routines.

A cleanser is crucial for healthy skin as it removes dirt, oil, and other impurities for flawless skin. This skincare step not only cleanses the face and removes dirt, but also prevents breakouts and premature skin ageing, helping you maintain a healthy, youthful, and blemish-free complexion.

The Aveeno Face Calm+ Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser is a go-to of mine due to its gentle formula that soothes and restores the skin’s appearance and texture.

SPF is non-negotiable and should be in everyone’s daily skincare routine.

Even on cooler, cloudier days, our skin is exposed to the sun’s UV rays which can be harmful to unprotected skin and even lead to damage. These damages include sunburn, pigmentation changes, and wrinkles which can impact the skin’s texture and appearance. In some cases, prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause skin cancer.

Applying SPF daily prevents these damages and protects the skin from harmful rays. I recommend the Beauty Of Joseon Rice & Prebiotic Sunscreen PA++++ SPF50+ for its lightweight, non-clumping texture that absorbs quickly for a natural finish and maximum protection.

Hair oil has many benefits and should be regularly used. This treatment can strengthen and protect the hair from external stressors while improving its appearance and shine. Regularly applying hair oil can also reduce breakage and even encourage hair growth for longer, fuller locks. Hair oils also target the scalp, reducing dandruff and improving its health through exfoliation.

I recommend using this deeply nourishing treatment a couple of times a week or more depending on the hair’s moisture levels. The Hair Syrup Rapunzel Pre-Wash Oil Treatment is a nutrient-rich treatment that revitalises strands to promote a happy scalp and healthy-looking locks. Apply the syrup throughout damp hair before washing; massage from root to tip and allow the formula to penetrate strands before rinsing and styling.
