Right-wing priest Calvin Robinson breaks silence after he’s booted out of church for ‘copying’ Musk’s ‘salute’ at rally
A RIGHT-WING priest has strongly denied claims he is a Nazi after appearing to copy a salute that was made by Elon Musk at Donald Trump’s inauguration celebrations.
Calvin Robinson made the gesture at the end of his address at the National Pro-Life summit in Washington DC on Friday, causing a stir online.
The event was held just days after Musk came under fire for making what looked like a stiff-armed Roman salute at Trump’s inaugural parade held at Capital One Arena.
In his remarks, he claimed the old world is “crumbling” and only America is “fighting for life.”
He told event goers that his heart went out to them before he thumped his chest and made a gesture resembling a Roman salute.
In an X post, he claimed that he’s received hundreds of “nasty” calls and messages.
“I am not a Nazi,” he vowed.
In a subsequent statement, he claimed that he was “mocking hysterical liberals” who accused Elon Musk of being a Nazi.
“Context is key, but sometimes people ignore context to confirm their own prejudices,” he said.
“People see what they want to see.”
Robinson denied any suggestions he was making light of World War II.
Robinson was a priest with the Anglican Church in the UK and a representative issued a statement after the footage surfaced on social media.
“While we cannot say what was in Mr. Robinson’s heart when he did this, his action appears to have been an attempt to curry favor with certain elements of the American political right by provoking its opposition,” the spokesperson said.
The church confirmed his license has been revoked.
“He is no longer serving as a priest in the ACC,” the spokesperson said.
Musk made the gesture at the parade after reveling in the thought that America could land a man on Mars.
“It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is assured,” he told the supporters in attendance.
Musk’s salute sparked a flurry of discussion online.
The Tesla and SpaceX mogul was widely condemned by prominent Democrats including firebrand left-wing congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
GESTURE STORM
Musk lashed out at Wikipedia after a screenshot from the website was shared on X.
It claimed he made a gesture that had been “compared” to a far-right salute.
A representative for the Anti-Defamation League described Musk’s gesture as “awkward.”
“This is a delicate moment,” it wrote on X.
“It’s a new day and yet so many are on edge.
“Our politics are inflamed, and social media only adds to the anxiety.”
‘FALSELY SMEARED’
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed Musk was being “falsely smeared.”
Defending Musk, Netanyahu said the entrepreneur is a friend of Israel.
Musk visited Israel just weeks after Hamas carried out the deadly October 7 terror attacks.
Nazi salutes were used as greetings in Germany under the Third Reich.
But, it is illegal to make Nazi-style salutes in countries such as Germanyand Austria.
Austria was under Nazi occupation during World War II.

Ryanair to take MORE disruptive passengers to court for bad behaviour on flights
MORE disruptive plane passengers could be taken to court if a flight is forced to divert, the boss of Ryanair has warned.
Earlier this month, the airline confirmed that they were claiming damages of €15,000 (£12,500) against a passenger who forced a flight between Dublin and Lanzarote to land in Porto.
Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary has warned they will take more disruptive passengers to court[/caption]And the budget airline boss Michael O’Leary has said they will do the same to other passengers who cause chaos on flights.
He told Sky News: “If passengers continue disrupting our flights, we will sue you for the cost of those diversions and those disruptions.”
He added: “We’re having two or three of these diversions a week.
The airline currently operates 3,500 flights a day, but said that the diversions were “two or three too many.”
It follows O’Leary’s repeated request to have drink restrictions at airports to avoid the drunk disruptions.
Previously calling for a two-drink cap, he added: “We don’t care what the number is, but there just needs to be a little bit more common sense about it.”
Currently, airport bars and restaurants have no restrictions in place, but can stop serving passengers who are seen to be too inebriated.
And most bars serve alcohol as early as 6am at the airport.
However, travellers are not allowed to buy alcohol at at the airport’s Duty Free and drink it on flights.
A Ryanair spokesperson previously said: “It is time that EU authorities take action to limit the sale of alcohol at airports.
“Airlines, like Ryanair, already restrict and limit the sale of alcohol on board our aircraft, particularly in disruptive passenger cases.
“However, during flight delays, passengers are consuming excess alcohol at airports without any limit on purchase or consumption.”
This has been backed even further by former Aer Lingus boss Padraig O’Ceidigh who said: “I don’t think that alcohol should be sold on board an airplane, quite frankly.”
The Ryanair boss also hit back against the plan to expand London Heathrow, as confirmed by Rachel Reeves yesterday.
Wanting planning signed off before the next election in 2029, she said: “I can confirm today that this government supports a third runway at Heathrow and is inviting proposals to be brought forward by the summer.”
However, O’Leary said he would “never fly from the airport” even if it was free for the airline to do so, citing long turn-around times that would cause a loss of daily flight numbers.
HEATHROW EXPANSION
He also called for other underused airports in the UK to grow instead.
Reeves also called for the reopening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, which closed back in 2022.
She said: “It now sits idle despite the potential to drive jobs and growth across the North.”
The airport hopes to reopen by 2026, with airlines such as TUI – who were the last airline to fly from there – expressing interest in returning.
The Sun's flight attendant on plane booze rules
The Sun’s resident flight attendant previously explained that crew tend can easily stop serving drinks if they think a passenger is too drunk.
They said: “As a team, we keep an eye on the consumption of each passenger, and will let each other know if someone is drinking a little too greedily.
“We can all collectively make a decision of whether or not we need to cut their supply and refuse them service.”
Explaining how to tell, they added that if they “wouldn’t be able to look after themselves in an emergency” then they had had too much to drink.
Another airline wanting to reopen to passengers is Manston Airport in Kent – here is everything we know.
Plymouth Airport is also calling to be reopened after 14 years.

How to find a flattering bikini for any body type
According to Boux Avenue the best swimwear for pears shapes is a high-cut style to add length to your legs or a bold high-leg swimsuit
For those with a straight body type, the underwear brand suggests a ruched swimwear option to create shape, and emphasise your legs.
For hourglass curves, the brand suggests a strappy swimwear style, or triangle bikini.
For apple body shapes an underwired bikini is best to work with your natural volume and a crinkle high waist bikini brief.
For round body shapes supportive cups are a must and a high-cut leg will add poise to your swimwear body pose.
And a seventh said: “Wow!! You look incredible.”
WEIGHT LOSS SUCCESS
Lisa previously spoke candidly about losing weight when she took to social media to share how she had shed the pounds.
“You know I’ve really tried to get the weight off these last few years. Well, longer than that, four or five years,” Lisa said in May 2024.
“And I’m so proud of all the work that I’ve done and my willpower. Not drinking all the time. It’s really helped me.
“But it’s weird how many followers I lose when I post something like that, for us ladies as inspiration and also because I am proud.
“And I shouldn’t feel bad about that,” she said of receiving backlash for talking about weight loss in the past.
At the time of her post last spring, fans were quick to support the brunette beauty, with one writing: “You are one of many role models for me. We are the same age and lucky to have some kick ass women like Tamsin Outhwaite, Davina, Tess and Claudia, Denise etc etc all going through perimenopause and still fabulous.
“Which really isn’t easy when you don’t feel like yourself. Exercise and self care is so key and you look incredible.”

EastEnders fans uncover actress’ FOUR forgotten roles on the BBC soap spanning more than three decades
AN EAGLE eyed soap fan has spotted that one member of the EastEnders cast has played four different characters in the soap.
Actress Ellen Thomas is best known for her most recent role as Claudette Hubbard, but that isn’t her first role in the BBC soap.
Her most well known role is as Claudette Hubbard, which she began playing in 2015[/caption]An EastEnders fan has pointed out the star has appeared as a resident of Albert Square four times across 35 years.
The actress first appeared in the BBC soap as Pearl Chadwick from November to December 1990, meaning her EastEnders debut was 35 years ago.
Pearl the mother of Abigail Chadwick, who had been killed in a motor accident and left behind a son.
After Abigail’s death, Pearl and her husband Henry took care of the boy with plans to emigrate, until his father stepped in.
The Sierra Leonean-English actress then moved into other TV roles before she later returned to the soap twelve years later as she played Estella Hulton in June 2002.
Estella’s brief appearance came as she is Pearl’s mother, and helped her to escape Watford in a taxi.
Eight years later Ellen returned as Grace Olubunmi from June 2010 to September 2011.
Grace, the grandmother of Mercy and Faith Olubunmi, wasn’t a prominent character but one that made things difficult for Mercy’s romance with FatBoy.
The character also appeared in a spin off from EastEnders, called E20.
Finally her most recent role was as Claudette Hubbard from March 2015 to November 2016.
Claudette Hubbard is the ex wife of Henry Hubbard and the mother of Vincent Hubbard, foster mother of Donna, Glen and Linford and grandmother of Pearl and Mica.
Involved in major storylines, Claudette was involved in Henry’s murder as well as attempting to murder Gavin Sullivan by hitting him over the head with a candlestick
Outside of EastEnders, Ellen has appeared in various TV programmes including Grange Hill, The Bill, Doctors, Holby City, Casualty, Doctor Who, Outnumbered, Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise and Silent Witness.
