Strictly’s Katya Jones sends Wynne Evans a message and urges people to ‘show humanity’ after fear for his mental health

KATYA Jones has issued a fresh message asking fans to show “humanity” towards shamed Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans amid fears for his mental health.

The opera singer, 52, was axed from Strictly’s live concert dates after his sexual jibe towards former BBC One show pro Janette Manrara, 41 – which was caught on both film and camera.

It came amid fears for the opera singer’s mental health after it was reported he was fighting to save his career[/caption]

It then emerged how Wynne is fighting to save his Go Compare job and BBC travel show amid concern for his wellbeing in general.

On Tuesday, Wynne broke his silence on being booted off the tour and told fans: “I am deeply sorry.”

Yet he faced a backlash from some fans and TV shows, including being branded a “nutter” by ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly on her Lorraine show.

In an attempt to temper public opinion, Katya, 35 – who was Wynne’s dance partner through the 2024 Strictly season and for the live tour – re-posted his tour exit statement to her Instagram Stories.

The professional dancer then added the words: “Lets show humanity and consideration.”

In another text box Katya – who had already broken her silence on his tour exit – then put: “I will miss you my darling boy.”

The Sun then exclusively told how the Russian risks the wrath of show bosses for breaking ranks to support Wynne.

CRUDE COMMENT

The BBC Radio Wales anchor let slip the shock remark at the start of the Strictly live tour shows before pulling out of the Glasgow performance, citing an ankle injury.

He was heard suggesting a threesome with mum-of-one Janette, using the derogatory term “spit roast.”

It came at a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour, when the Go Compare singer reportedly made a suggestive face at actor Jamie Borthwick as Janette moved between them — which is when he allegedly made the joke.

BBC and Strictly Live producers said: “We have made it clear to Wynne we do not tolerate such behaviour on tour.”

At the time, Janette’s spokeswoman said she had been “unaware of this comment.”

Wynne was then spotted brushing off the scandal as he was seen singing on stage – despite being unable to dance.

Yet after bosses kicked him off the tour, he issued his own statement to apologise.

Wynne Evans' Strictly scandals

‘Grope’

Wynne encountered a backlash after his Strictly pro partner Katya was filmed removing his hand from her waist.

Fans insisted she looked uncomfortable as she moved it away – but Katya later insisted there was no problem.

In joke

They then sparked further fury, when she was seen refusing to high-five the Opera singer.

The duo were quick to issue a video apology and insisted it was all an innocent “inside joke”.

Crude joke

Wynne came under fire for allegedly telling a “crude” joke to one of the show’s make-up artists.

Insiders claim the opera star made a joke that the folds of his double chin “looked like a vagina”.

A source said: “It was a bit of a vulgar dad joke.”

Vile comment

Wynne was recorded suggesting a three-way sex session with presenter Janette Manrara, using the term “spit roast”.

His remark came at a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour, which pro Janette, 41, is hosting.

He reportedly pulled a suggestive face at actor Jamie Borthwick as Janette moved between them — which is when Evans allegedly made the joke.

Wynne has apologised saying: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.”

Wynne apologised for his conduct in a statement on Tuesday and said: “I’ve agreed with the BBC that l’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.

“I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection.

“Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”

Dad of two Wynne is sadly no stranger to a TV scandal.

Wynne previously came under fire in last year’s Strictly series when he was seen groping his dance partner Katya Jones, but they dismissed it as a joke.

Kaleb Cooper shocks Clarkson’s Farm fans as he makes first ever trip abroad after never owning a passport

KAELB Cooper has officially ventured beyond British soil for the first time – leaving fans of Clarkson’s Farm stunned.

The 26-year-old farm manager, who has long professed his love for staying close to home in Chipping Norton, was pictured sightseeing in Bruges, Belgium.

The revelation came courtesy of Jeremy Clarkson himself, who posted a photo of Kaleb exploring the picturesque European city by night.

Clarkson captioned the snap: “Wonders have ceased. It’s abroad.”

Fans wasted no time in reacting to the momentous occasion.

One joked: “The great migration. A once-in-a-lifetime event.”

Another teased: “Kaleb is going to go into anaphylactic shock.”

A third chimed in: “How drunk did someone need him to get before putting forward this idea?”

Kaleb’s reluctance to leave the UK is well-documented.

The father of two has previously admitted that he’s never owned a passport and had never even traveled by train, bus, or taxi.

Speaking to Virgin Radio UK, he confessed: “I’ve never been on a train. Never been on a bus. Never been in a taxi—swear on my life… I’ve never been on a boat.”

His passport status has even ruled him out of potential reality TV opportunities.

At last year’s National Television Awards, Kaleb admitted that while he could see himself on I’m A Celeb one day, there was one major hurdle.

He told reporters: “I’ve still got to get a passport. I haven’t got a passport yet.”

Who is Clarkson's Farm star Kaleb Cooper?

By Conor O’Brien

Hailing from Chipping Norton, farmer Kaleb Cooper shot to fame by appearing in Prime Video series Clarkson’s Farm.

The hit show follows Jeremy Clarkson in his journey managing Diddly Squat Farm – which he’d owned since 2008.

Born and bred in the area, Kaleb has become Jeremy’s right-hand man and sort of farming mentor.

Viewers have watched the pair light-heartedly ‘clash’ – with Kaleb usually ridiculing Jeremy’s efforts.

Three series have aired – with a fourth on the way – significantly raising Kaleb’s public profile.

Away from the screen, the farmer is also a father to two young children

‘Are you alright?’ – Gary Neville stunned as Wayne Rooney admits he STILL wants to manage and reveals unusual next step

WAYNE ROONEY left Gary Neville absolutely gobsmacked by revealing his intention to return to management.

Wazza was given his marching orders by Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle last December after just seven months in charge.

The sacking was Rooney’s SECOND of 2024, a year which started off with Birmingham City handing him his P45.

But the Manchester United legend isn’t giving up hope of becoming a successful manager, saying during the latest episode of the Stick to Football Podcast: “I would like to go back in.”

Rooney’s admission stunned former team-mate Neville, who proceeded to ask him: “Are you alright?”

“No I would do,” Rooney continued. “But it’d have to be the right club. Certainly the right club.”

Wazza, however, is in no rush to return to the dugout.

England‘s former all-time leading goalscorer said: “I’m not in a massive rush to go back in.

“There are different things that I’m looking at to try and get involved with as well.

“Unless something was absolutely the right thing to do, [then I’m not rushing back in].”

Wayne Rooney's record-breaking career

WAYNE Rooney took the football world by storm when he made his debut for 2002 with Everton.

He quickly became the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer aged 16 years and 342 days and was named the BBC’s Young Sports Personality of the Year.

The striker joined Manchester United in 2004 and spent 13 years at Old Trafford. He went on to make 559 appearances for the Red Devils and scored 253 goals. To this day he is still the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.

Following his spell with United, Rooney returned to Everton for a season. He also spent one-season stints with D.C. United and Derby County at the end of his career.

As well as his impressive club career, Rooney is also England’s second-highest goalscorer with 53 goals in 120 appearances, behind only Harry Kane.

After hanging up his boots, the England icon turned to a career in management.

He took charge of Derby County in 2020 and managed to just about save the club from relegation from the Championship at the end of his first season.

However, with Derby handed a 21-point deduction the following campaign, he was unable to keep them up again and subsequently left.

Then came a 15-month spell in charge of MLS side D.C. United. He failed to impress during his time in Washington and parted ways with the club at the end of the 2023 regular season.

Rooney was controversially handed the Birmingham job in October 2023, replacing John Eustace with the club doing well and sixth in the Championship table.

However, in 15 games he suffered nine defeats and managed just two wins. He was sacked in January 2024 with Birmingham down in 20th. The club were relegated to League One at the end of the campaign.

He returned to management in May with Plymouth Argyle but managed just five wins in 25 games. The United legend now finds himself out of work once again.

Rooney, 39, is well aware that his recent track record will likely put clubs off giving him a job.

So much so he’s willing to DROP DOWN to Under-21 level to further cut his teeth and prove himself worthy.

He said: “I’d have no problem dropping to an Under-21 team or going in there as a coach.

“I’m still young enough to learn and devlop.

“I’m not naive enough to think [I’ll go straight into another job]. I know how the game works.”

Despite the current bleak nature of his managerial prospects, Rooney has no regrets about his forays into the dugout.

He said: “I’ve had some great experiences. Good ones, bad ones. So I think you’ve always got that to fall back on.

“Whatever happens in the future, you’ve always got that to fall back on.

“But I’m defiinitely looking, as well, to try and expand and do different things and enjoy my kids more, enjoy my family more and enjoying doing stuff with them.

“Certainly while I’ve got this time off.”

Amir Khan echoes the nation in plea to Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua… and he speaks from experience

AMIR KHAN has pleaded with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua to give fans the fight they want – before it’s too late.

The pair of heavyweight superstars looked in line to finally settle their British beef in the ring this year.

It leaves a fight with Anthony Joshua in doubt[/caption]

AJ is coming off a September knockout loss to Daniel Dubois while Fury was twice defeated on points by Oleksandr Usyk in 2024.

So with no brighter prospects, the beaten Brits were being lined up for a two-fight deal – worth around £300MILLION – across Saudi Arabia and London.

But that was until Fury went for a coffee in mid January and decided to announce his shock retirement on social media.

It leaves the fight with Joshua – which has been brewing for ten years – facing the KO forever.

The two have won multiple world titles, sold millions of pay-per-views and earned enough money to last several lifetimes.

But Khan says Fury, 36, and Joshua, 35, owe it to the fans to close out their careers with the fight that means more than anything.

He told SunSport: “We hope that happens because at the end of the day it’ll be good for the fans. End of the day, it’s great for boxing, it’s great for British boxing.

“And if that fight ever came through, it’s something that we’d watch, we as boxing fans and as ex-fighters, we want to see that fight.

“So yeah, I think they do need to give that to the UK fans just to give that cherry on top, you know what I mean?

“And then they can go on and enjoy their career after whatever they get into.”

Bolton icon Khan is speaking from experience.

For years fans were left frustrated and almost ready to give up on a grudge bout between the 2004 Olympian and nemesis Kell Brook.

But in 2022- with the duo both 38 and well past their primes – they sold out the Manchester Arena and put it all on the line for six rounds.

Khan was stopped on his feet and retired afterwards – doing so with no regrets and a new friend in Brook.

He said: “For me, I had to give it back to the UK fans. I had to do it for the UK fans, the British fans.

“They wanted to see that fight and even though I knew I was done, I still had to give them that UK fight between me and Kell Book.

“I mean we’re friends now, we were never friends. Sometimes it takes punching each other in the face to become friends.

“But look, at the end of the day I got nothing but respect for Kell. I think it’s something that we wanted to give back together to the UK fans, and I’m glad we did it now.”

Khan – who still owes Brook a catch-up over coffee – reckons AJ and Fury can become shock pals too.

He chuckled: “It happens in boxing.”
