Paying trainers for interviews is mad – as Hugo Palmer tells me – but here’s a cheeky look at who could charge what

CLASSIC-winning trainer Hugo Palmer has broken ranks and declared the concept of trainers being paid for TV interviews as a ‘terrible idea’.

Respect, Hugo. Respect.

I know, I know. Bonkers. But that’s the truth.

If only trainers knew how I often have to beg – on many different shows – to get them airtime and, in general, promote their business.

Yes THEIR business.

Palmer contacted me after he read a message I put out on X, formerly known as Twitter, over the issue.

“Just read your tweet about trainers’ interviews – you are totally correct,” Palmer said.

“This is an awful situation and a terrible idea. We, as trainers, have an interest, some would say a duty, to do our best to promote the sport.

“We also need to promote ourselves! There are plenty of trainers who pay PR agencies to promote them and get them airtime which rather contradicts this idea doesn’t it?!

“Dan Skelton saying ‘the vast majority of trainers are behind this’ is totally incorrect.”

The trainers gagging for the cash are part of former BHB chairman Peter Savill’s breakaway group the Professional Racing Association (PRA), which has said the boycotting of interviews is not an “idle threat”.

The PRA has contacted media rights company Racecourse Media Group (RMG) on behalf of its membership, which it claims numbers more than 170 and includes many leading jumps trainers, asking for a payment of £500,000 this year in return for agreeing to give interviews from February 1.

The PRA has, we are told, also contacted Sky Sports Racing with a proposal, although it is not known for what amount, while ITV is also aware of the situation.

You might say to yourself that in some sports leading players are paid to talk. It’s the truth.

But racing is different.

Every interview a trainer gives is a potential sell. In other words, it’s their free shop window to promote their stable and their success and allow possible racehorse owners to see their personality and worth.

Imagine any other business that gets free sale advertisements. Every business would bite your arm off for that like a ‘walker’ in the The Walking Dead.

Not racing. Oh my.

Palmer, one of a three-member Presidential Triumvirate of the National Trainers’ Federation, added: “This idea has been dreamt up in desperation as a way to try to fund the PRA. It’s so appallingly naive – if media companies agreed to it, surely it would just be sliced off their media rights budget which in turn racecourses would slice off prize money.”

Savill has said that any argument trainers should just be grateful for the exposure was “laughable”.

He continued: “Imagine a movie producer saying to Leonardo DiCaprio that we won’t pay you, you should be grateful for the exposure we provide.”

With respect, what utter codswallop.

If DiCaprio wasn’t paid he gets nothing.

Trainers are already being paid by owners. Most of the income a trainer has is from the people who send them a horse, in general around £25,000-£30,000 a year per animal.

If just one person watching an interview with a handler eventually sends them a horse, then I think it’s fair to say it was worth the chat!

Paying a trainer to talk about the sport which allows them to exist is clearly crackers.

But just imagine it happens. Presumably if they are paid, part of the contract is that trainers will tell us what we want to know.

And equally would you pay them all the same? A sliding scale for good talkers?

So what would you pay for who?

If the maximum was £100 per interview, here are a few suggestions:

-£5 George Baker. Pays the interviewer for bigging up new Epsom yard and Bahrain.

£5 Dave Evans. Doesn’t really enjoy interviews. Risky!

£30 Rebecca Curtis. No reason needed.

£10 Jamie Osborne. But agrees to inform us which horses he is getting handicapped for Racing League.

£50 Stuart Williams. Promises to give out the one juvenile he will land a punt with on debut in the season ahead.

£100 Chris Gordon. Consistent visits to Ofcom. But entertainment value high.

£75 Charlie Appleby. Tells us the best Godolphin juvenile before they run.

£100 Aidan O’Brien. Reveals which of his runners this year will be the best he has ever trained.

£100 Ralph Beckett. Stable tour and political views crucial for certain podcasts.

£100 John Gosden. Regular fee to talk on anything going wrong in racing.

£20 Robert Cowell. To comment on his continued efforts to look like Bob Baffert.

£10 Charlie Fellowes. To talk about George Scott.

£10 George Scott. To talk about Charlie Fellowes.

£50 Nicky Henderson. For daily updates on Constitution Hill’s dinner plans.

£100 Paul Nicholls. To consistently tell us how good Dan Skelton is and how glad he is that he’s going to become champion.

£100 Sir Mark Prescott. Informs all on the horse or horses he ran over 7f as a juvenile, who are now chucked in the handicap and will run up a sequence over 1m6f as a three-year-old.

£100 Willie Mullins. But has to give away exactly which horses run in which novice at the Cheltenham Festival.

£75 Gordon Elliott. To declare Brighterdaysahead only runs in the Mares.

£50 Dan Skelton. On ulcers. And to tell us what he learnt from Paul Nicholls.

Imagine training for a syndicate. Lots of your owners – many elderly who can’t make it to the track – are watching their horse from home or work.

They hear nothing from their trainer on TV after a win because the handler wants to be paid to talk.

Yep, that’s the way to promote the sport and get new people involved. Well done all. Yeeehaaa!

Love Island All Stars new bombshell revealed as series three stunner with famous ex

LOVE Island’s next bombshell can be revealed as a gorgeous Casa Amor bombshell from series three.

She’s a true All Star after dating famous YouTuber Jack Maynard since shooting to fame alongside Olivia Attwood and Amber Davies.

Love Island’s next bombshell can be revealed as Danielle Sellers[/caption]

The Sun can reveal that the girl heading in is Danielle Sellers, who made a play for Olivia’s partner Chris Hughes back in 2017.

But since then she’s become a firm favourite among the Islanders and lives in Manchester – so is likely to have crossed paths with current cast like Scott Thomas and Grace Jackson.

Danielle is a former Sun page three girl.

A source said: “Danielle is smoking hot and is the ideal age for Scott as he’s drifting apart from Tina after the explosive Vegas row with Luca.”

Back in 2017, we told how the blonde bombshell had been seeing I’m A Celeb star Jack.

This was despite him growing close to Made in Chelsea star Georgia “Toff” Toffolo while in the jungle.

Jack and Danielle had been seeing each for around seven months and were introduced by Jack’s pop star older brother Conor.

Things are said to be so serious that he spoke to her on the phone the night before he went into the jungle.

A source said: “Jack and Danielle had spent a lot of time together over the past seven months. They’d quietly attended industry events together and made no secret among pals of how close they were.

“Jack has been making it sound like he’s single since he’s been on the show but he’s been saying different things around Danielle.”

That year, she entered the Love Island villa on day 26 as a Casa Amor bombshell.

The beauty was joined by Chyna Ellis, Ellisa-Jade White, Amelia Peters and Shannen McGrath.

Danielle caught the eye of Jonny Mitchell and he chose to recouple with her in the main villa.

However her Love Island stint was very short-lived as she was dumped three days later by Marcel Somerville, who is currently in the All Stars villa.

Who are the 2025 Love Island All Stars couples so far?

Throughout the series the couples will chop and change as each recoupling happens

HERMINIA HELL

Flight tracker Flightaware shows Heathrow has cancelled 26 flights, while another 37 are delayed, affecting up to 4,000 passengers.

A landslip near Darwen, Lancashire, means all National Rail lines are blocked, with trains between Bolton and Blackburn cancelled.

It comes after Calum Carmichael, 19, and Kacper Dudek, 20, were killed by falling trees.

And a 73-year-old British sailor remains missing at sea after his yacht disappeared in stormy weather off the coast of Lacanau on the southwest French coast on Saturday.

Meanwhile, nearly 300,000 homes were left without power over the weekend in Northern Ireland, with suppliers receiving two months’ worth of calls about issues in just two days.

A series of yellow warnings for wind and rain have been issued for large parts of England and Wales with more than 40 flood warnings in place.

5-day weather forecast

Today:

Showers or longer spells of rain across most areas. Showers turning heavy at times in the south with a chance of thunder, plus hill snow in the north. Strong, gale-force winds continuing in the south, and temperatures around average.

Tonight:

Showers and longer spells of rain continue overnight. Gales in the southwest slowly easing, but winds picking up in the far north. A patchy frost forming in the northwest.

Tuesday:

Further heavy showers in the south with a risk of thunder. Longer spells of rain in the northwest, but easing later. Strong winds at first, and temperatures around average.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Remaining wet and windy in the south on Wednesday. Becoming more settled for all on Thursday and Friday. Temperatures near the seasonal average, but chilly at night.

After a Met Office warning for rain over parts of Wales and central, southern and northern England, ran until 6am today and there was little respite with much of the same area under a 24-hour warning for strong and gusty winds from the same time.

A warning for periods of heavy rain that could cause some flooding of roads and properties was in place for the West Midlands and most of Wales until 11.59pm on Monday with the Met Office predicting 20mm to 40mm to fall quite widely and 50mm to 70mm on higher ground.

Flooding saw stretches of the A36 and A303 closed in Devon and Wiltshire overnight, while National Rail said services were running normally between Taunton and Castle Cary after flooding.

Most of the 40 flood warnings, where flooding is expected, issued by the Environment Agency cover the south west and south coast, the two warnings issued by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

Scotland is recovering from the effects of Storm Eowyn.

ScotRail said engineers had made “great progress” in removing debris and repairing damage, but several lines were unlikely to reopen for the start of services on Monday.

The Largs to Adrossan line will not reopen on Monday after an overhead gantry was brough down by a falling tree.

Avanti West Coast said services to and from Glasgow and Edinburgh had resumed, but warned of late starts and possible delays on Scottish routes.

Beautician body-shamed by millionaire dad for years wins £125k payout for boob job after being cut out of will

A BEAUTICIAN body-shamed by her millionaire dad for years has won a £125,000 payout to spend on a boob job after being cut from his will.

Pirate radio “legend” Roger Howe died aged 55 in March 2020 after falling from a window.

Her dad Roger wrote his only child out of his will[/caption]

He left behind a £1,447,000 fortune, part of which was tied up in his radio engineering company BW Broadcast FM, but left his only child Jenna Howe out of his will.

A court heard Roger had a “toxic” relationship with his daughter and consistently “belittled” her when she was growing up.

The broadcaster also “called her names” and taunted her in a “nasty” way about her weight.

As a result, the 37-year-old developed bulimia and body dysmorphia and later became estranged from her dad.

When he made his last will in 2017, Roger left his fortune to his mum, Rosina, his sister, Tina Tucker, and his two nephews, Ross and Jamie Tucker.

The dad wrote Jenna out of the will and was “adamant” that she shouldn’t receive a penny – branding her “lazy, grabbing and bad to my parents”.

But Jenna has now been awarded £125,000 after taking the battle to Central London County Court.

The sum includes a £75 weekly “maintenance” payment for the next ten years to help Jenna get by and help wipe her debts and pay for replacement breast implants.

The court was told Jenna’s life had been ruined by Roger’s heartless neglect and cruelty throughout her childhood.

She suffered with drug addiction and is currently “destitute”, it was said.

Judge Mark Raeside said: “Throughout her life, she has been self-conscious about her body and I am quite satisfied that this should be paid for by the estate.

“She has had a body problem ever since she was a young child”.

The court heard that during Jenna’s childhood and teens, Roger consistently “belittled” his only child and taunted her about her weight.

On occasions, the “disciplinarian” dad would weigh his daughter in front of their lodger and even when she developed an eating disorder, he continued to “pick on her”.

Jenna said: “He was really nasty about my weight and talked about me calling me names, and was horrible to me.”

The court heard Jenna suffered with body dysmorphia, which caused her to get breast implants.

Her lawyer James McKean argued she should be awarded the cash to cover the cost of more surgery to replace these implants.

Jenna also told how her life “spiralled out of control” after she began taking drugs and that her dad did little to help her get back on track.

She said she had tried to reconcile with her dad over the years as she “longed for a relationship” and was badly rocked by his death.

Giving his ruling, the judge said: “The view I have come to is that, in the exercise of my discretion, a lump sum award should be made in her favour from the estate to meet Jenna’s present and future financial needs in light of her mental condition, which has driven most of those needs.”

He described Jenna’s finances as “precarious,” saying she still has heavy debts left over from a previous court clash with her relatives.

The effects of her mental conditions have made work almost impossible, the judge ruled as he said she now deserves a weekly income of £75 to keep her head above water.

He added: “She is only just getting by and has a right to maintenance.

“This is a case where she wishes to improve herself and this will no doubt help.”

Roger Howe was known as a technical genius in the field of radio transmitting equipment and was just eight years old when he built his own transistor radio.

By 15, he was building complex AM and FM transmitters, which he continued to develop throughout his time in school and into the beginning of his career.

At just 16 years old, he was making rigs for London pirate radio stations, including JFM, a specialist jazz funk station.

In his later years, he used his expertise to build a successful business which exported equipment all over the world and made him a millionaire by the time of his death.

Inside Lisandro Martinez and Adama Traore’s heated feud as Fulham star carries on row after defeat to Man Utd

THE HEATED rivalry between Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez and Fulham ace Adama Traore has been extended.

Martinez, 27, and Traore, 29, locked horns on Sunday’s Premier League clash between United and the Cottagers at Craven Cottage.

That was the second meeting between the two teams after August’s Prem opener at Old Trafford that saw Man Utd prevailing with a score of 1-0 thanks to Joshua Zirkzee’s winner.

Martinez and Traore posed as a key flashpoint following some intense challenges on the pitch.

And at some point the centre-back’s 5’9″ frame somehow managed to overpower his heavyweight Fulham opponent off the ball in the first half.

The Argentina international then went on to rub it in with a cheeky statement during a post-match interview.

Martinez said: “I sent him back to the gym. I learned from the first one where he killed me, I killed him back. He is difficult to play against and I learned from the first situation.”

Traore caught wind of the Argentine’s comments and hit back on social media.

The winger posted a pic of himself training and tagged Martinez with an ominous warning and a winky-face emoji.

Traore posted: “Don’t worry we will meet again.”

The ex-Wolves star kept his promise as he got the better out of some more intense challenges with Martinez, who at some point went in two footed on his much larger opponent.

The Spaniard took a swipe out of the defender on social media with a cheeky snap.

It showed the forward walking back to his half with the Man Utd ace left on the floor writhing in pain following a clash between them.

Traore posted the following casual caption on Instagram: “Tough loss. We deserved more, but we will keep working hard and improving.”

Nevertheless, Martinez got the last laugh on the latest chapter of their saga as he scored the winner on 78 minutes to lead United to an important 1-0 victory in west London.

A CASUALTY child star looked unrecognisable at Paris Fashion Week – but do you know who they are?

The hit BBC One medical drama has paved the way for a number of huge names, and this rising star is no different.

The star looked a far cry from her character in the medical drama[/caption]

Casualty’s Emily Carey – who played Grace Beauchamp-Strachan on the long-running show – looked a far cry from their character in the French capital

The star showed off chic style as they attended the Patou Menswear Fall-Winter 2025/2026 show at Paris Fashion Week.

Emily – who played the daughter of Connie Beauchamp and Sam Strachan – looked stylish in a burnt orange oversized blazer and matching trousers with a blue shirt.

They completed the look with white heels and a bright orange Le Petit Patou bag.

Emily’s Casualty character Grace, became the centre of some of the show’s most biggest storylines.

This included a horrific car accident that left them with a life-threatening subdural haematoma.

Their character also had a brief romance with a paramedic Leon Cook, after convincing him that they were an older med student.

Meanwhile, Casualty returned to our screens this month and with it came a new recruit.

Sexy Beast star Naomi Wakszlak now plays the role of Indie Jankowski, who is a new student paramedic at Holby City Hospital.

While she’s very much a junior, Indie is a force to be reckoned with and isn’t shy about making her mark.

Speaking about joining Casualty, Naomi said: “It’s a huge honour to work on BBC’s Casualty and join the incredible cast and crew here in making one of the UK’s best-loved series.

“I hope you’ll all love Indie as much as I do!”

Meanwhile, Roxane Harvey, Casualty’s executive producer said: “Naomi is an emerging talent who brings depth and authenticity to the role, seamlessly capturing Indie’s determination and drive to prove herself in a demanding environment.

“As Indie navigates her professional journey, viewers will witness her growth as a paramedic and the relationships she forms with colleagues, her boss Jan and patients.”

It comes after fans were reduced to tears as the drama’s Christmas special centred around the miracle of blood.

The episode featured real accounts from bereaved family members and those who survived thanks to blood donations.

Laura Anderson defends herself as she moans about flying business class to Dubai with her daughter

Laura had her hands full from start to finish, skipping picking up a coffee because she simply didn’t haver a free hand or cup holder to store it.

Things were much comfier on bard the plane, however Bonnie still kept her on her toes.

Laura revealed the youngster “s**t herself” shortly after having some orange juice and nearly fell from a seat too.

In their private booth, Laura emptied toys onto a bed to keep her entertained and stuck a film on while she watch Anchorman.

She did her best to stem the potential for criticism about being “tone deaf” by adding a disclaimer to the post that began with her declaring: “I am aware sitting in business class is a privilege if someone chooses to do so.”

However, some followers’ sympathy still only went so far, with one commenting: “my heart bleeds for you Laura.”

While others compared their own flight nightmares with kids while fling in economy.

One said: “You should try cattle class with a child, I feel for anyone having to travel with children trying to keep them occupied in a confined space, you had room, she did well Laura x.”

Others defended the star, with one writing: “You do you, no need for justification. People do not need to follow you or read your posts they can scroll on by!”

Another said: “The fact that you felt you had to explain your choice is what’s wrong with society. You have absolutely every right to travel first class with or without a child. Travelling with children is hellish at the best of times, if there is something you can do to make life easier then do it!! All of us would if we had the pennies you go girl!!”

Laura replied to one fan and admitted she had a very different experience on a flight last year.

She said: “I flew Jet2 in the summer it was only 4hrs though and my mum was with me so we cried altogether while Bonnie threw her food at everyone.”

The mum-of-one explained that she upgraded because she saves money on accommodation by staying with her sister in the Middle Eastern city.

She said: “I would be happy to sit in economy if I had another adult travelling with me. A babies cry does seem somewhat more embarrassing in a premium cabin which is great.”

The reality star then explained how the extra space was helpful for solo parents travelling with kids and that families are welcome in the pricier part of the plance.

Revealing her tips for upgrading, she wrote: “You can do online in advance, at check in, at the gate or onboard with money or miles all prices are different. Of course the later you leave it there’s a chance it might be full. My crew mates always check for me the loads.”

I look exactly like the world’s most beautiful woman – I get tons of attention in Aldi but trolls still say I’m ugly

SCROLLING through the news, Denise Ohnona, 44, was gobsmacked to read that she’s officially the most beautiful woman in the world, but there’s a twist.

Stunning mum-of-two Denise works as a lookalike for Kate Moss, who recently was found to have the most physically perfect face, according to the Golden Ratio theory.

Kate has been found to be the most ‘beautiful woman in the world’ thanks to the golden ratio[/caption]

Known as the Divine Proportion, this ancient Greek concept is a natural marvel, appearing everywhere from the blooming petals of flowers to the spiralling shells on the seashore.

Despite having worked as a lookalike for the glamorous supermodel since 2017, Denise admitted she still struggles with self-esteem.

The blonde beauty told Fabulous: “For me, it is so so flattering that I even get to be a lookalike for Kate Moss.

“Personally I’ve never thought I was beautiful.

“I didn’t like how I looked different.

“I had wide set eyes and still to this day I don’t think I’m beautiful.”

Her uncanny resemblance to Kate, who recently starred in the Victoria’s Secret Show, has unsurprisingly caused her to have a lot of attention from men.

Although she is happily engaged to DJ fiance Rob of 11 years, who she met on Match.com, Denise admitted she gets numerous people sliding into her DMs – with some sending X-rated requests.

The proud Liverpudlian continued: “I’m in magazines like TV, doing shows, photo shoots. I might be dressed up at events, mingling with people. I do get propositions a lot.

“I’ve been offered money to go on dates. I think it was like a few thousand [pounds] actually.

How does the Golden Ratio work?

Dr Julian De Silva, who runs London Facial Plastic Surgery

The golden ratio, often denoted by the Greek letter φ (phi), is a mathematical ratio that is approximately equal to 1.618.

It has been admired and utilised for centuries due to its aesthetically pleasing properties.

Creative geniuses have used the theory to sculpt, build and paint beautiful works of art throughout history.

Leonardo Da Vinci employed it in his masterpieces the Mona Lisa, Last Supper and the Vitruvian Man.

The Acropolis in Athens, dating to 435BC, also follows the formula.

Known as the Divine Proportion, and originally set out by the ancient Greeks, it is commonly found in nature, from flowers to shells.

Experts say the ratio makes forms visually balanced and unconsciously more pleasing to the eye.

Now cosmetic surgeon Dr Julian De Silva, who is based in London’s Harley Street, has combined the age-old theory with the latest in hi-tech computerised mapping to calculate the symmetry of famous faces.

“I’ve been asked to sell pictures. I’ve been asked to do porn and I was like hell no, never gonna happen.

“It takes a lot of stepping outside that comfort zone to be a lookalike. It’s not easy.

“People think, ‘oh, you live your best life and it’s glamorous’, and it’s not. It’s fun, don’t get me wrong.”

One of the most “bizarre” jobs she did was a shoot in Aldi, and she had numerous shoppers mistake her for the supermodel.

She added: “I had people coming up to me telling me how they’ve been a fan of me the whole life, how their mum was a fan of me, how their mum named them after Kate Moss, and taking photos with me.

“I never felt so bad in my whole life doing that.

“I didn’t even know what I was doing like. I was just told to be at this job for whatever time it was.”

Plastic surgery pressure

While being a doppelganger for a supermodel would be many people’s dream, Denise admitted she sometimes feels the pressure to look a certain way.

Denise insisted that she hasn’t had any work done apart from Botox, but she does sometimes get cruel comments that make her wonder about her looks.

She explained: “Even I have felt pressure to go get things done because someone will say something about you, and then [you think] ‘do I need to fix that?’

“You get hammered as a female for getting older, and I think this is what forces people to do drastic things.

“Kate still looks like herself and I think that is an achievement in itself. She still looks good.”

Denise Ohnona

The lookalike, who has racked up 133,000 followers on her @iamnotkatemoss Instagram page, said she takes “so much hate”, but thankfully overall most people are positive.

She shared: “You can get criticised from head to toe about how old you look, or you’re too skinny, or you’re too ugly, or, you know, like you’re sad, you get so much abuse online.

“I’m in a place where I’m fine with that. I can take it, but I think you’ve got to be thick skinned to put yourself out there as a lookalike, because someone will have something to say.

“But the majority are really cute and nice and supportive.”

Bullied at school

Despite the accolade of looking nearly identical to the “most beautiful woman in the world”, Denise admitted that she was “shy” in school and people teased her for her unusual features.

She added: “I didn’t really enjoy school. I was very shy and not confident. Never felt pretty at all.

For me, it is so so flattering that I even get to be a lookalike for Kate Moss. Personally I’ve never thought I was beautiful

Denise Ohnona

“I used to get laughed at and there was one guy – and it always stuck with me  – I got called Kettle Face, and I never understood why.

“People used to say, I look weird because my eyes were really far apart.

“But you know Kate has the same wide, set eyes, and the high cheekbones, and that wasn’t normal.”

Kate Moss' model history

SHE has been a magazine cover girl and striding the world’s catwalks for decades.

Spotted at 14 and from Croydon, South London, she is without a doubt one of the most famous beauties in the world.

At 19 she featured on the cover of British Vogue.

Little did she know then, but that was the first of more than 40 (and still counting) British Vogue covers to come.

No one has come close to that figure.

Kate first appeared in    a Rimmel cosmetics campaign in 2001. “Get the London look” is one of the most renowned advertising taglines of all time, thanks to Kate.

Around this time she started dating publisher Jefferson Hack after he interviewed her for the magazine he co founded, Dazed & Confused.

The pair had a whirlwind romance and had their daughter Lila Grace a year later.

They broke up in 2004 but are still close today.

She went on to date the former Libertines frontman, drug-taking Pete Doherty, after meeting him at her 31st birthday party.

The star has been    modelling less and less in recent years, choosing instead to launch business ventures which put her behind the camera.

She has also reinvented herself as an unlikely health guru, swapping champagne and cigarettes for gardening at her home in the Oxfordshire countryside.

After a string of short-term relationships in the Noughties, the supermodel was in a relationship with photographer Count Nikolai von Bismarck since 2015, but has now split after nine years.

A-list lifestyle

Thankfully she’s had the last laugh, as working as a Kate Moss double has opened up numerous doors for the stylish mum, and seen her jet around the world for photoshoots and promotional gigs.

She explained: “I’ve had some fabulous experiences where I’m like ‘is this how the other half live?’

“I’ve experienced some of the most wonderful places and treatments, and Michelin Star dinners and things that I would never get to do as me, because I’m quite a basic stripped-down human being in my own life.”

However, Denise’s lookalike job, which she does full-time, allegedly hasn’t gone down too well Kate Moss herself, who she says she’s never met.

Denise explained: “I’ve had a slight indication, well, it was one of her friends actually messaged me, and it kind of indicated that they don’t find it funny, and they’re not happy with it.

“So I was like, ‘oh, I’m really disappointed to hear that.’”

The mum added: “I never wanna step on her toes or do anything to upset her.

“I mean, lookalikes is an industry. It goes back a long time, and it’s like it’s a job to me.

Denise Ohnona

“I’m not trying to be famous or rich and I never am going to be. It’s just a job.

“So I was hoping Kate would be quite fun about it.

“It’s cool to have a doppelganger. I think everyone’s got one.

“And I never see myself as Kate – she’s like a whole other iconic supermodel level – I just happen to resemble [her] a little bit.

“It’s given me opportunities that for years I wouldn’t take but then I’m glad that I did, because it’s helped me as a person. I’m definitely more confident.”

Love life confessions

One person who loves the Kate comparison is partner Rob.

She added: “He finds me really attractive and sexy, and I think he thinks it’s cool. He does laugh a bit because we’re out and people will go ‘oh my god’.

“I think he’s quite entertained by it.”

Denise continued: “I get compliments constantly from him, even 11 years later. He still fancies me like a lot.

“Sometimes he’ll make jokes about dating me and Kate at the same time and stuff, and I’m like ‘shut up.’

“I do wonder if I was ever single, I wouldn’t want to go out with someone who was a Kate Moss fan, it would be far too weird.”

Public reaction

Despite her kids being “not interested” and “embarrassed” by Denise’s Kate modelling, she often gets members of the public coming up to her and telling her she looks “stunning”, or mistaking her for Kate.

She added: “I have people coming up to me telling me how they’ve been a fan of me the whole life, how their mum was a fan of me, how their mum named them after Kate Moss, and taking photos with me.”

While a lot of her life is flying to gigs or walking in catwalk shows, Denise admitted she doesn’t always look glamorous like she did in a recent Vogue shoot, especially when she’s running errands or in the gym.

The model double explained: “It’s a separate world, if you saw me at home you’d crack up.”

Lookalike career

Denise became a Kate lookalike when she was 37 and a stay-at-home mum raising her two kids, Elise, 14, and Anais, nine.

She added: “I’ve not long had my baby so before that I spent 10 years doing telecommunications.

“I went on a night out with a friend, and there was a photo taken of me, and somehow that ended up with my now agent Andy.”

Thankfully for her lookalike gigs, Denise thinks that she looks more and more like Kate as the years go on.

She shared: “ As I get older I look more and more like Kate or maybe she looks more like me I don’t know which

“It kind of brought me out of my shell and just like gave me like a lot more confidence to step out comfort zone and do things that because you never know what you’re going to do as a lookalike

“I think every decade that goes by, Kate doesn’t disappoint.

“She just keeps coming back, and she doesn’t disappoint. I think she’s done really well.”
