League of Ireland star completes transfer move to Steaua Bucharest after rediscovering form following horror injury

Steaua are second in the country’s second division with both they and FCSB – second in the top flight – claiming the illustrious history of the club crowned European champions in 1986.

Currently on mid-season break, Magerusan’s new club are unbeaten after 17 matches. They are seven points clear of third-placed Resita with the top two winning automatic promotion.

Magerusan moved to Ireland as a teenager with his football career held up by compensation demands by the Gheorge Hagi career.

He scored three goals in just six appearances for Bohemians but his progress was halted by tearing his ACL in his left knee twice.

After two-and–a-half years on the sidelines the striker returned to action with Longford Town in 2022 before joining Bray last season.

With 23 goals and 11 assists in 61 First Division appearances, he has underlined his attacking threat and will hope to prosper with a move into full-time football.

‘Humiliated’ Ferne McCann in backstage meltdown after Dancing on Ice axe – as she fumes about vote ‘fix’

FERNE McCann broke down in tears about being axed from Dancing on Ice in a shock meltdown backstage.

Show sources say the “humiliated” 34-year-old “cried hysterically” after becoming the second star to leave the competition while dressed as a troll for movie week.

Former Towie star Ferne was said to be so upset that she cut short her ‘lap of honour’ around the ice – and hid her face from the crowd.

“She had a meltdown in front of everyone after coming off the ice backstage”, said an insider, who overheard the raging mum of two.

“Ferne kept saying ‘this doesn’t make sense’ and ‘it wasn’t meant to be like this’.

“She couldn’t understand how she didn’t get the votes – despite having the most followers online.

“It was made even worse that she was voted out on the night she was dressed like a troll. She feels humiliated.”

Ferne landed in the bottom two with EastEnders star Charlie Brooks after receiving the fewest votes in last night’s show.

She was immediately thrown out of the competition without the opportunity to fight for a place in the skate-off.

Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern, Ferne said: “I’m so gutted, so gutted, but… it is what it is.

“We were having so much fun, I’m really sad…”

Ferne’s voice trailed off as Holly said sympathetically: “Oh Ferne I can see you’re upset.”

“Listen, you’ve got everything to feel proud of. You’ve made your family proud and we’ve loved having you.

“Please go and do a lap of honour now for the final time.”

Ferne waved to the crowd before becoming overwhelmed with emotion and covered her face.

She didn’t make it round the whole rink and ended up exiting down the tunnel early.

Our insider said: “Ferne cut the lap of honour short because she didn’t want to break down in tears in front of everyone.

“Even though the camera wasn’t on her, everyone in the studio could see she was hysterically crying. She was absolutely devastated about going home.”

Even presenter Stephen remarked: “Wow, she’s gutted” as all four judges gave her a standing ovation.

Our insider added: “It was too much for her. She was so upset and was trying to be strong for her daughter Sunday who was in the audience.

“When she was off-camera she spoke honestly about her feelings to her dance partner who was as equally saddened by the result.”

Despite the disappointment, sources close to Ferne insist she pulled herself together for seven-year-old Sunday.

Sources close to Ferne said: “Of course she was upset, but she also understands this is the nature of a show like this and has had a lovely time.

“She ended up staying on after the show to spend time with production and her family before heading home.”

I paid £299 for a new Shark vacuum as I didn’t know about a secret filter I had to clean – don’t make the same mistake

A WOMAN has issued an urgent warning to other Shark vacuum owners after accidentally replacing her fully working device.

Gem explained that she’d gone out and spent £299 on a new Shark because she thought her first was broken.

And took it apart as she saw all the bits that she’d never cleaned in the five years she’s had the hoover[/caption]

Sharing a video on TikTok, Gem called the device a “present to myself”.

But she then explained further, as she showed how she’d vacuumed with her old Shark, and then the new one – just to see the difference in how much dirt it picked up.

However, one person commenting on the video quickly pointed out that there’s a secret filter on the old vacuum, “under the grill at the front”.

“If you lay it back, it should clip off and a filter will be revealed which can also be washed,” the person added.

“No, I did not know this!” Gem exclaimed.

She then laid the appliance down, and unclipped the grate part at the bottom front.

“Shut up!” she shouted, as the grate came off.

“Oh my God!”

Gem then continued to remove things before uncovering the filter at the bottom, as she said: “Hang on, is it that colour?

“Should it be that colour? What’s all this?

“I never knew this and I’ve had this over for five years!”

And in the comments section, Gem quickly found out she wasn’t the only one to be oblivious about the secret filter.

“Amazing! Mine’s FILTHY! Thank you for your service,” one wrote.

“I have never ran so fast,” another said.

“I have this hoover – OMG!”

“What???? I thought I was doing so good to wash all the other filters regularly and I have completely missed this!” a third commented.

The household items you’re not cleaning often enough

IF you want to ensure your home is squeaky clean, you'll need to listen up. Below are the household items you're forgetting to clean, and how to get them sparkling...

Remote Controls: Wipe with a disinfectant cloth. Use a cotton bud for crevices.

Light Switches: Wipe with a disinfectant wipe. Use a mild soap solution for tough stains.

Door Handles: Clean with an antibacterial spray. Wipe down regularly.

Underneath and Behind Appliances: Vacuum or sweep regularly. Mop with a suitable cleaner.

Shower Curtains and Liners: Wash in the washing machine. Use a bleach solution for stubborn mildew.

Kitchen Sponges and Dishcloths: Microwave damp sponges for one minute. Wash dishcloths in the washing machine.

Computer Keyboards and Mice: Use compressed air to remove debris. Wipe with a disinfectant wipe.

“Not me running downstairs at 11 pm at night to go do this,” someone else said.

To which Gem replied: “I never knew this till someone told me half an hour ago on my previous post.

“I’m not sure what the original colour was supposed to be but id best get cleaning it at the weekend haha.”

In subsequent videos, Gem showed herself painstakingly cleaning each part of the filter – with an astonishing amount of dirt coming off as she did so.

Once she’d cleaned everything she could – including the pipe which had a “massive blockage” inside that was affecting the suction – she put it all back together.

And lo and behold, it worked!

“Oops, I didn’t need a new one after all!” she wrote over the top of the clip.

“Is the suction back to normal?” one person asked in the comments.

With Gem sheepishly replying: “ummm…. yes. So I didn’t need a new vacuum after all!”

Putin’s cannon fodder North Koreans RETREATING from Ukraine frontline after nearly half taken out & top commander killed

NORTH Korean troops fighting for Vladimir Putin have retreated from the frontline after nearly half of them were wiped out, a Ukrainian claims.

The withdrawal comes as Kyiv eliminated one of Pyongyang’s top commanders and managed to capture his body.

He appears to be the most senior killed out of Kim Jong-un’s 4,000 troops left injured or dead in the fighting, Volodymyr Zelensky claims.

Pyongyang has shipped 11,000 troops to Russia as Putin desperately tries to recapture Ukrainian-controlled Kursk.

Ukrainian special forces commander Puls told Sky News the North Koreans had fled from the fighting but would be “back soon” to the frontline.

Puls said the soldiers pulled back a fortnight ago to regroup, tend to wounded, or wait for reinforcements.

He said: “The Russians are standing, working everywhere along the frontline, but no Koreans.

“They’re still present, training or waiting for reinforcements. Something is happening, they’ll be back soon.”

Ukrainian troops also revealed North Korean soldiers have blown themselves up with grenades rather than risk capture.

One is even thought to have shouted “For General Kim Jong-un” before taking his own life.

North Korean soldiers attack in WW2-style groups of between 20 to 60 – making themselves easy targets for Ukrainian drones and artillery.

They are being used as “human bait” to lure out drones, while other fighters then target the flying bombs.

Troops in white helmets have also been seen trying to recover the wounded or dead and hide the evidence.

Russian soldiers are also trying to burn the faces off North Koreans to hide their identity.

But a North Korean Lieutenant Colonel, serving as a Company Commander, was captured by Ukraine after he was killed in Kursk.

The officer was captured with a diary written in Korean, a Chinese-made radio, a paper map, and several guns.

Also found was an ID with a Russian name that was issued in September and has no photo, Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov revealed.

He was killed near Malaya Loknya village in Kursk with the cover documents suggesting he was 38-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Ayaty Duun-oolovich Kolodzinskiy.

Ukrainian radio intercepts have also revealed North Koreans accidentally targeted Russian positions and fail to hold ground after storming Ukrainian positions.

Pyongyang is preparing to send more troops to Russia as its forces need to be replenished.

South Korea’s joint chiefs of staff said in a memo that the North is “accelerating follow-up measures and preparation for an additional dispatch of troops”, the Telegraph revealed.

Kim Jong-un has already sent 11,000 soldiers from the elite Storm Corp forces.

Other North Koreans have been captured with Russian IDs and diaries that have revealed what exactly they are doing.

One 27-year-old wrote in his diary: “I, having left my homeland, on unfamiliar Russian land, send birthday congratulations to my friend Song Ji-myung (Yong).

Two North Korean soldiers captured by Ukraine

POV footage showing kamikaze Ukrainian drones swooping down onto North Korean soldiers was also recently released by the Ukrainian army.

It shows the soldiers scrambling and running for their lives as the drones methodically pick them off.

Zelenksy previously said: “Russia is simply disposing of them [North Koreans] in assaults.

“Why the Koreans should fight for Putin is a question that no normal person on Earth can answer.”

As well as sending soldiers, Kim Jong-un is also thought to be sending trainloads of weapons to Russia to support Putin’s war.

Footage emerged recently of a train of heavy duty artillery rumbling across Russia in December.

I was a North Korean soldier - troops will be used as 'human shields'

By James Halpin, Foreign News Reporter

A FORMER North Korean soldier said the troops in Russia will be looking to escape the battle in Ukraine “from the beginning”.

Speaking to The Sun before North Korean troops were deployed in Ukraine, Hyun-Seung Lee, a soldier in the Kim army in the early 2000s, said the soldiers in North Korea will be forced to go the war.

He said they will be young, so they won’t be that committed to the fighting.

He said: “It will be individuals at first, but more like as time passes, I think there’ll be like a larger number of group defections, including officers.”

That’s because, Lee says, the Russians will likely treat them as “expendable”  and even more poorly than their own troops.

He said: “Russian soldiers don’t respect them as their fellow warriors

“They will treat them as their human shields.”

Eventually, the North Koreans will realise the hierarchy and how they are being seen as “disposable” by the Russians and look to flee, Lee said.

He added: “I think they’ll die without any impact.

“Putin and Kim Jong-un would expect more from them… they won’t get the expected results.”

“So, [troops will be told] ‘don’t pick up any material from Ukraine government or in the South Korean language’ and ‘they [claims in the propaganda they hear] are all fake’, and ‘it’s not true’ if someone defects, or ‘if you’re arrested, you’ll be tortured’.”

But Lee believes the soldiers will be susceptible to any psy-ops the Ukrainian government uses to try and get troops to defect.

He added: “I would say, if Ukraine’s government conducts a psychological strategy against North Korean soldiers then the chances are really high [of defection] because they don’t have real motivation. It’s not for money, right? They are not getting paid.

“And obviously it’s [their motivation] not defending your country, and then your parents, and yourself. So it’s just that they are mobilised by the North Korean supreme commander Kim Jong-un.”
