‘That hasn’t aged well’ say Strictly fans as awkward moment between Wynne & Katya resurfaces after his crude sex comment
STRICLTY fans have spotted an awkward moment in a resurfaced clip between Wynne Evans and Katya Jones after his crude sex comment.
Earlier this week, the opera singer let slip the shock remark at the start of the Strictly live tour shows before pulling out of the Glasgow performance, citing an ankle injury.
The opera singer let slip the shock remark at the start of the Strictly live tour shows[/caption]BBC Wales presenter Wynne, 52, is thought to be “hanging onto” his day-job after being heard suggesting a threesome with mum-of-one Janette Manrara, using the derogatory term “spit roast.”
Now Strictly fans have pointed out at another awkward encounter Wynne had with Katya before the Strictly final.
The BBC dance show shared a video of some clips from behind-the-scenes that didn’t make the cut.
Posing the video on Strictly’s official YouTube page, Katya playfully told Wynne that she was going to “block him on Instagram”.
The Welsh opera singer responded: “You’re going to block me on Instagram.”
But some fans have noted that the comment has “not aged well” in light of Wynne’s recent remark.
One fan said: “Remembering one of the digital videos they posted on Youtube, think it was a bloopers one, where Katya says ‘I’m going to block you on Instagram’ and Wynne says ‘no you’re not’. Obviously may have been in a jokey way but certainly won’t age well I imagine.”
The shock moment came at a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour, when Wynne reportedly pulled a suggestive face at actor Jamie Borthwick, 30, as Janette moved between them — which is when he allegedly made the joke.
He has since issued an apology and told The Mail on Sunday: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.”
BBC and Strictly Live producers said: “We have made it clear to Wynne we do not tolerate such behaviour on tour.”
Janette’s spokeswoman said she had been “unaware of this comment”.
Wynne previously came under fire in last year’s Strictly series when he was seen groping Katya, but they dismissed it as a joke.
He then told how he had been left “heartbroken” over the backlash, which came when he was seen with his hand around professional partner Katya‘s waist.
She was also seen refusing to high-five the singer – sparking rumours of a fall-out.
The duo were quick to issue a video apology and insisted it was all an innocent “inside joke”.

Strictly stars support struggling Wynne Evans on his birthday after his vile sexual comment about host
WYNNE Evans’ Strictly Come Dancing co-stars have been offering their support to him as he marks his birthday, according to reports.
The Welsh warbler turned 53 today and is said to have been “comforted” by his pals from the Strictly Live Tour.

The star, who took part in last year’s series of Strictly, made a joke using the hugely demeaning term ‘spit roast’ during a tour photocall in Birmingham earlier this month.
Wynne has reportedly accepted an offer by the BBC to take some time away from his BBC Wales radio show.
According to the MailOnline, Wynne has taken the break ‘amid the furore’ of his comment to Janette and because he is still grieving the loss of his brother Huw, who passed away earlier this month.
Wynne is also said to be feeling the physical strain of being on the road with the live UK tour.
Furious Ferne McCann ‘let down’ by famous pals who failed to support her on Dancing on Ice before shock axe
DISAPPOINTED Ferne McCann was “let down” by her famous pals who failed to support her on Dancing on Ice.
The 34-year-old was the second star to be knocked out of the competition in a shock early exit.
The Sun revealed Ferne McCann was devastated and hysterically crying backstage[/caption] Ferne crashed out of the ITV competition on Sunday night[/caption] Ferne was gutted over her early Dancing On ice exit[/caption]Ferne finished third from the bottom of the leader board during movie night but received the fewest votes from viewers – despite the best efforts of Real Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley who told her 583k followers: “Don’t forget to vote for Ferne!”
However, many of her former Towie co-stars went quiet online.
An insider told us: “Her closest friends didn’t even post the ITV number to save her or encourage their fans to vote.
“One of her best friends totally ignored it even though she’s been there for them through thick and thin.
“Maybe if her friends had rallied around her and posted in her favour, it would have been a different outcome.
“I’m sure it feels like a real kick in the teeth.”
As The Sun revealed earlier today, Ferne was “crying hysterically” backstage – unable to understand what had gone wrong.
After hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern delivered the bad news, Ferne said: “I’m so gutted, so gutted, but… it is what it is.
“We were having so much fun, I’m really sad…”
Ferne’s voice trailed off as Holly said sympathetically: “Oh Ferne I can see you’re upset.”
Ferne waved to the crowd before becoming overwhelmed with emotion and covering her face.
She didn’t make it round the whole rink and ended up exiting down the tunnel early.
Ferne McCann boasts 2.9million followers on Instagram, while her competitor Charlie Brooks – who was also in the bottom two – has just 304,000.
However, having both received the fewest votes, Ferne was told her time on Dancing on Ice was over.
Despite the disappointment, sources close to Ferne insist she pulled herself together for her seven-year-old daughter Sunday.
The Sun has approached Ferne’s rep for comment.
