Garmin reveals how to fix ‘blue triangle of death’ after mysterious glitch crashes people’s watches

A MYSTERIOUS glitch has bricked Garmin watches with a ‘blue triangle of death’ that stops users being able to track their exercise.

The issue causes watches to be frozen with only a blue glowing triangle present on a black screen.

Users cannot move away from this screen, or access their usual features.

“Exercise seems pretty pointless today with @GarminUK blue triangle of death,” one user wrote on Twitter.

“Apparently a software update caused lots of peoples’ to malfunction.”

Another added: “My Garmin Forerunner is about as useful as a brick at the moment.”

On Reddit, users were equally in uproar.

“It’s unacceptable that it started last night and I didn’t know until it happened to me at 10am today,” a user wrote.

“I could have avoided a factory reset entirely had they sent us a single email or even put a notification in the app, or in my morning report, or anything!”

A second Reddit user added: “This is textbook on how to ruin a company’s reputation and potentially lose thousands of customers.”

The issue appears to be affecting Garmin watch owners worldwide.

Customers believe a recent automatic software update prompted the glitch.

However, Garmin has yet to confirm the cause.

“We are aware of an issue causing some devices to be stuck on the start up screen or a blue triangle,” the company wrote in a warning banner on its website’s support page.

“To resolve this, press and hold the power button until the device turns off, then power it back on, and sync with the Garmin Connect app or Garmin Express.”

A simple switch off and on again seems to solve the problem, according to Garmin.

Although there are several users who say this doesn’t work.

If this doesn’t resolve the issue, Garmin has told users they will need to complete a factory reset of their watch.

A factory reset will delete all the data stored on the device, including Garmin Wallet data, apps, watch faces, body battery data, and some step count data.

Each Garmin watch has different instructions on how to complete a factory reset.

Garmin has laid out how to factory reset each device here.

The Sun has contacted Garmin for comment.

Brits’ 10 favourite meals revealed as 44% ‘bored’ of eating same foods – does your go-to make the list?

MORE than half of Brits eat the same meals every week, with roast dinners, pizzas, and spaghetti Bolognese most frequently rustled up.

A poll of 2,000 adults revealed 44 per cent are ‘bored’ of the mealtime merry-go-round but lack inspiration for new dishes to cook.

More than half of Brits eat the same meals every week, with roast dinners, pizzas, and spaghetti Bolognese most frequently rustled up[/caption]

Four in 10 (43 per cent) would be more likely to try new recipes if they were easy to make, while 29 per cent would be driven by their desire to mix up the same old routine.

While 53 per cent describe themselves as carnivores, just seven per cent are vegetarian and only two per cent are vegan.

That said, 63 per cent said they are open to a ‘flexitarian diet’ where vegan and free-from alternatives are occasionally used instead of meat and dairy.

Other frequently devoured meals on a weekly basis included chicken curry, fish and chips, as well as shepherd’s or cottage pie.

The research was commissioned by NOMO, which has teamed up with Sunday Brunch chef Simon Rimmer to mark its fourth year of Flexi-Feb.

It encourages the nation to inject variety into their meal repertoires by introducing substitutes from the free-from aisle or adding whole foods, like lentils, which help to reduce meat and dairy intake.

Tara Stevens, from the vegan and free-from chocolate brand, said: “The vast majority of those polled regularly eat meat and dairy – but it doesn’t mean you can’t mix up a few meals a week to become more flexi.

“We’re all about inspiring people to try free-from alternatives or introduce whole foods into the meals they prepare.

“It can help people to cut back on meat and dairy intake whilst offering inspiration to experiment with the dishes they’ve become a little bored of from the mealtime rut.”

The study also found that despite 64 per cent consuming meat-based dishes all the time, with an average of eight meals a week containing meat, 47 per cent would be happy to switch things up if they tasted the same without meat or dairy in them.

And 23 per cent would be more inclined to try something new if it helped them to reach their health goals.

But 49 per cent of all respondents would be keen to challenge themselves to ‘Flexi February’ – with those open to switching two meals to become flexi each week.

Simon Rimmer, who has developed a ‘NOMO Creamy Choc and Raspberry Trifle’ to mark the month, said: “It is a complete myth that meals and desserts without meat and dairy lack taste.

“Nowadays there is an incredible array of substitutes – which are unbelievably good.

“You cannot tell the difference, yet many Brits don’t give them a chance, when they should.

“The research has shown many of us are lacking inspiration – but a quick trip down the free-from aisle is one of the easiest ways to vary dinners and desserts by tweaking the classics to make them a little more interesting without losing out on taste and flavour.

“It’s all about simple changes and you’ll be surprised at how much this can refresh familiar favourites – it’s as simple as using lentils in a Bolognese or using coconut milk in a trifle.”

TOP 10 MOST COMMONLY EATEN DINNERS, ACCORDING TO BRITS

  1. Pizza
  2. Roast dinner
  3. Spaghetti Bolognese
  4. Chicken curry
  5. Fish and chips
  6. Shepherd’s pie/ Cottage pie
  7. Sausage and mash
  8. Chilli con carne
  9. Lasagna
  10. Chicken stir fry

SIMON’S TOP TIPS TO ADD VARIETY TO SOME OF BRITAIN’S FAVOURITE MEALS AND DESSERTS:

TRIFLE – Trifles are so easy to flex-up. In the NOMO Chocolate & Raspberry trifle I created, I used fruit juice and agar agar to make a perfect jelly. I replaced regular milk with coconut milk and added creamy chocolate to the custard.

CHOCOLATE BROWNIES – The key to a good brownie is soft and gooey underneath, but a bit crunchy on top.
Demerara sugar to finish off your free-from brownie will make that happen.

CRUMBLE – Combine a solid vegan spread with flour and demerara sugar for a super crunchy and rich vegan topping.
STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING – Vegan STP is delicious. A no-dairy but plant-based spread and milk make a softer pud but no less delicious.

PIZZA – There are some fabulous vegan cheese substitutes. However, you don’t need cheese to make a great pizza.
Try pizza sauce, red onion, capers, olives, basil, and a sprinkle of chilli flakes for a great alternative.

ROAST DINNER – Such a simple swap this one: use olive oil to roast your potatoes. A simple nut roast with mushrooms and lentils is delicious and veggie gravy using caramelised onions and strong veg stock as a base is heavenly.

SPAG BOL – I regularly swap out mince for finely chopped chestnut mushrooms to make a super tasty vegan spag bol.

CHICKEN CURRY – Shredded oyster mushrooms have a similar texture to chicken when cooked. They also work brilliantly in your fave curry. Get lots of heat into them on the stove and they crisp up a bit.

He didn’t smile as Tina returned to the villa

Together with Nas Majeed, Kaz Crossley and Montel McKenzie, Tina’s fate fell into the hands of the ‘most popular’ female and male islanders; Luca Bish and Elma Pazar.

Luca and Elma were told to send three out of the four home and they eventually chose to eliminate Nas, Kaz, and Montel.

This meant Tina was saved to return to the arms of her man Scott, but fans are certain he wasn’t delighted with the outcome.

As she arrived back in the villa with Luca and Elma, Scott looked up but failed to crack even the tiniest of smiles.

And it didn’t go unnoticed with eagle-eyed viewers at home.

Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, one said: “Why do I feel like Scott is fuuuuming they saved Tina, he now had to carry on pretending he likes her looool.”

Another added: “Scott’s gonna ditch Tina at the earliest opportunity.”

A third said: “I just don’t get that good vibe from Scott tbh with Tina at times it feels he still doesn’t want to be with her & is forced, which concerns me as I love both.”

And someone else added: “Sorry Tina but Scott’s heads gonna turn with this new bombshell apparently they already know each other in that way.”

Fresh from the mass cull, the villa is in for more drama as two new bombshells make a dramatic entrance.

Danielle Sellers and Sammy Root are heading in to cause havoc – and Danielle has already admitted to having her eye on Scott.

Ahead of her big comeback, the 2017 islander said: “I like Scott, Luca and Curtis so I’ll be pulling them for chats.”

The former Sun Page 3 girl made a play for Olivia Attwood’s villa partner Chris Hughes during her first stint and insiders fear Tina is now heading for heartbreak.

A source said: “Danielle is smoking hot and is the ideal age for Scott as he’s drifting apart from Tina after the explosive Vegas row with Luca.”

Love Island All Stars 2025 official line-up

Love Island All Stars is back on TV for season 2.

Here we take you through the line-up of all the Islanders who are in the villa so far.

Bombshells

Each series brings with it a string of hot single bombshells making their epic entrance into the villa.

Here’s who has joined the villa so far:

Meanwhile, Love Island fans will remember Sammy from series 10 in 2023. He won the show with his then-girlfriend Jess Harding.

However, the pair’s romance didn’t last, and they ended up splitting just three months after leaving the villa.

Sammy‘s arrival couldn’t have come at a better time for Elma.

The pair previously met on the Towie circuit and Elma is currently nursing a broken heart after Ronnie Vint ditched her for Harriett Blackmore.

Everyone can see the ice skater but you need 20/20 vision and a high IQ to spot the mistake in 7 seconds

HERE is another fun brain teaser to test your eyesight and powers of logic.

Everyone can see the ice skater on the rink – but only those with 20/20 vision and high IQ can spot the mistake in the image within seven seconds.

Can you spot the mistake in the image within seven seconds?[/caption]

The ice-skater in the picture is clearly having a good time.

You can tell by the grin spread across her face.

Her arms are outstretched as if she is gliding along.

The rink otherwise seems to be deserted.

The hundreds of empty seats in the background suggest it could be after hours.

Or perhaps she just got there early to beat the crowds.

Either way, she seems to know what she is doing.

The lack of protective gear shows she is confident of avoiding any nasty slams.

All the appropriate gear is present: hat, gloves, coat – and her own skates.

Here’s a clue if you’re struggling.

Have a close look at all the pieces of kit listed above – and see if you can spot anything unusual about them.

Don’t worry if you’re still struggling, we’ve included the solution below.

Did you know that optical illusions have an array of benefits for your mind and body?

People who are able to solve the puzzle quickly possess good observational skills and high cognitive speed.

It tests your ability to process a high volume of visual information and the ability to concentrate under high amounts of pressure.

Psychologists at The University of Glasgow found that staring at an optical illusion can improve eye sight by allowing you to see small print.

How can optical illusions and brainteasers help me?

Engaging in activities like solving optical illusions and brainteasers can have many cognitive benefits as it can stimulate various brain regions.

Some benefits include:

  • Cognitive stimulation: Engaging in these activities challenges the brain, promoting mental agility and flexibility.
  • Problem-solving skills: Regular practice enhances analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Memory improvement: These challenges often require memory recall and can contribute to better memory function.
  • Creativity: They encourage thinking outside the box, fostering creativity and innovative thought processes.
  • Focus and attention: Working on optical illusions and brainteasers requires concentration, contributing to improved focus.
  • Stress relief: The enjoyable nature of these puzzles can act as a form of relaxation and stress relief.

Here is the answer for those of you still searching.

The girl’s skates are jagged and bumpy – no good for gliding along the ice.

If you enjoyed that teaser, have a go at the others below.

As always, solutions are at the bottom.

The mistake that makes your house a target for burglars & two things that keep you safe, from a convicted thief

SMALL features in your home can be make or break when it comes to safety.

A convicted thief revealed the common mistake she’d look out for when “casing” properties.

A former thief shared the common mistake homeowners make that makes their house a target for burglars (stock image)[/caption]

In a Reddit post, the unnamed user shared the details that would draw her to a home and the things that made her avoid others.

And since homes are more likely to become targets during the cold weather, now is the time to take action.

The 26-year-old described herself as a “former home burglar,” revealing that she served two years of a three year sentence after being convicted.

After learning to cut hair while incarcerated, she got her certification when she was released and now works as a beautician.

The original poster is now sharing her expertise to help people protect their homes from burglars.

She explained that she began breaking into problems when she was 18, homeless, and struggling with addiction issues.

The mum-of-one said she is now “very remorseful” about her past actions.

“I’m simply trying to add some insight and perspective,” the Redditor said.

She revealed the common move that would attract her to certain properties.

“The houses I looked at most were the ones that didn’t have cars in front during the day,” she explained.

This hinted that nobody was home, and if these properties also had a back entrance, they became the perfect target.

She added that “climbable windows were another big plus” when it came to breaking and entering.

“A decent amount of space between neighbors was a plus for me,” the Redditor said.

On the other hand, small things can make a difference between your home staying secure or becoming a target.

“I avoided houses with dogs outside out of fear that it would bark and alert someone,” she revealed.

How to protect your home from burglars

  • Install a home security system:
    • Consider alarms, CCTV cameras, and smart doorbells.
    • Choose systems that allow remote monitoring via smartphone.
  • Secure doors and windows:
    • Ensure all doors and windows have robust locks.
    • Use deadbolts and window locks for added security.
    • Consider installing a peephole or door chain.
  • Improve outdoor lighting:
    • Install motion-sensor lights around your property.
    • Ensure pathways, driveways, and entrances are well-lit.
  • Maintain your garden:
    • Keep hedges and shrubs trimmed to eliminate hiding spots.
    • Store tools and ladders securely to prevent their use in break-ins.
  • Use timers for lights:
    • Set timers to turn lights on and off to give the impression someone is home.
    • Consider using smart plugs to control appliances remotely.
  • Secure garages and sheds:
    • Ensure these areas are locked with strong padlocks.
    • Store valuable items out of sight.
  • Get to know your neighbours:
    • Join or form a neighbourhood watch scheme.
    • Encourage neighbours to keep an eye on each other’s properties.
  • Be cautious with social media:
    • Avoid posting holiday plans or location updates online.
    • Ensure privacy settings are secure to limit who can see your posts.
  • Mark valuables with a UV pen:
    • Use a UV pen to mark valuables with your postcode and house number.
    • Register items with a property database for easier recovery if stolen.
  • Consider installing a safe:
    • Use a safe to store important documents and valuable items.
    • Ensure the safe is securely bolted to the floor or wall.
  • Review your home insurance:
    • Check that your home insurance policy is up to date.
    • Ensure it covers the value of your possessions.
  • Conduct regular security checks:
    • Periodically review and update your home security measures.
    • Ensure all systems and locks are in good working order.

“If the house had cameras I would avoid them for obvious reasons, security cameras are a good deterrent.”

The original poster added that leaving a TV on can also help give the illusion someone is home, making it “more likely to be left alone.”

According to the thief, burglars are also more likely to target properties during the day.

“Night time hits are a work of fiction,” she explained.

She also added that most petty thieves are aware of common hiding spots for valuables, including inside books and in underwear drawers.

Instead, she recommended investing in a safe as attempting to open them is “too time consuming.”
