PAUL MERSON was left stunned by the bargain fee AC Milan have paid for Kyle Walker.
The 34-year-old’s glittering seven-and-a-half years at Manchester City officially came to an end yesterday.
Walker has moved to Milan initially on loan until the end of the season.
But the England right-back is not expected to return in the summer as the deal includes a buy option worth £4million.
Arsenal legend Paul Merson was left shocked by the low price City accepted.
He told Sky Sports: “I don’t think Kyle Walker could play ever game at the moment, but he could still do a job.
“For me, for the sake of the fee of £4m, the vets team I used to play for would have bought him for that.”
On top of the fee, SunSport understands that Milan will pick up the majority of his £150,000 weekly pay packet.
The Serie A side’s local rivals Inter were also keen on signing him but wages proved a stumbling block.
There was also a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian side, but Walker was keen to still play at the highest level.

Walker joined in with training at his new club for the first time today.
That was after saying farewell to City in a touching social media post, thanking Pep Guardiola, his team-mates and fans.
It read: “Manchester City… where do I start? Signing for this incredible club in 2017 was a dream come true.
“Seven years later, winning 17 trophies, including the Champions League and the famous treble is something I could only have dreamt as a child.
“To play alongside so many talented players has pushed me to be the best version of myself, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity I’ve had at the Etihad.
“A huge thank you to so many people, the coaching staff, the kit men and all the backroom staff who work tirelessly behind-the-scenes. You make every day enjoyable and provide the platform for us to perform at our best.
“To my team-mates, from the moment I walked through the door I felt at home. Thank you for the great memories and for all the success we have shared together. You are friends, but also family for life.
“To Pep Guardiola, thank you for believing in me and working so hard to bring me here in 2017.
“Together, we’ve celebrated 17 trophies, and your guidance has helped shape me into the player I am today. I’ll be forever grateful.
“To Annie and all my family who have been there and supported me on this journey thank you.
“Lastly, to the fans—thank you for embracing me as one of your own from day one. Your unwavering support, week in, week out, home and away, will never be forgotten. I wish you all constant success going forward. Thank you, Kyle.”
A COUPLE have opened up on getting constantly stared and shouted at in the street as a result of their height difference.
After years of dating men, Lizzy Jade Groombridge, who is known online as Lizzy Long Legs, has now ditched ‘short Kings’ for her ‘short Queen’ – her new girlfriend, Candie Dixon.
But since getting together, with Lizzy standing at 6ft 3″ tall and Candie a significantly shorter 4ft 9″, the pair’s height difference often attracts unwanted attention.
The women, who live in Cornwall, UK, first met in Costa Coffee after speaking on social media, and started off as best mates.
But they soon realised there was something more and now they’re happily in love.
Revealing all to Truly, on an episode of Love Don’t Judge, the women opened up on the judgement they regularly face.
Lizzy confessed: “People tend to glare, whisper amongst themselves.”
To which Candie explained: “I’m holding hands with someone who is so much taller than me. And I kind of get nervous sometimes because I think, do they think that I’m your daughter because of the height?”
Not only is Lizzy shouted at in public, called a ‘Green Giant’ by haters, and forced to tell people ‘she’s not my child’, but she even has her height tattooed on her hand in an attempt to stop people asking how tall she is.
But it appeared that content creator Candie may struggle with the comments slightly more than Lizzy, as she revealed: “I’m getting a bit fed up of the comments online.
“Every time we go out, people stare at us. It’s really frustrating.”
Agreeing, Lizzy added: “I think it’s a projection of men’s insecurities over a woman being so much taller.
“That can emasculate them and make them feel insecure so they project that.
“We often get stared at but we don’t care. It doesn’t matter what they think.”
Lizzy explained that she thinks the trolls have their “own issues they need to work on” and should “stop projecting” on others.
As a result, she’s on a mission not to let them get her down, as she beamed: “It doesn’t stop me. I still wear heels.
Every time we go out, people stare at us. It’s really frustrating
Candie
“Now, I’m comfortable in who I am.”
Despite receiving judgement from haters on a regular basis, YouTube users were keen to support Lizzie and Candie, and eagerly flocked to the comments to praise their relationship.
One person said: “I adore their style against trolls & haters! YOU GO GIRLS!
Another added: “You both seem happy and that’s all that matters.”
A third commented: “If the two girls have that strong bond and care for each other that’s all that matters.”
A PLAYER in the Turkish top division was sent off for slapping his own teammate this weekend.
Kayserispor’s Stephane Bahoken was shown a red card just 23 minutes into his side’s clash against fellow Super Lig side Sivasspor.
Bahoken, 32, was clearly frustrated after Kayserispor had fallen 2-0 down just 10 minutes into the game.
And the Cameroon international lost it when confronting teammate Miguel Cardoso for giving away a free kick in a dangerous position.
After getting in the face of Cardoso he then pushed him before slapping him across the cheek.
Despite the altercation happening between two teammates, the referee had no choice but to reach into his pocket and dismiss Bahoken for violent conduct.
His dismissal came with over an hour left to play and left his side facing an uphill battle to say the least.
Kayserispor were unable to turn the match around and wound up losing the game 5-2.
And things weren’t made any easier when teammate Joseph Attamah was sent off for two yellow card offences later in the game.
Fans reacted to the unbelievable moment on social media.

One wrote: “Should be fined and be banned from playing a few games by his club. How could you slap your teammate, it baffles me?!
While another added: “Friendly fire”.
A third commented: “Look at this nonsense. Worst league in the world.”
And a fourth joked: “This makes the Bower and Dyer look like a boxing main event”.
It’s not the first time that teammates have had a barney in the middle of the pitch.
Famously Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer got physical back in 2005 when on the books at Newcastle.
Both players were sent off that day with the fight spilling over into the changing room after their dismissals.
More recently players have had verbal bust-ups on the pitch that have made headlines.
Arsenal duo Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko both lost their cool last season against Nottingham Forest.
While Chelsea players Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson got on Cole Palmer’s case over who should take a penalty during the Blues’ 6-0 win over Everton last season.
And Manchester United pair Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund were involved in a furious row after their Europa League clash against Victoria Plzen this season.
