Bank giant with 14 million customers makes big change to accounts TODAY

A BANK giant with 14million customers is making a big change to accounts from today.

HSBC will reduce the interest rates on its easy-access Premier Savings account today, February 24.

Reuters

The rate for balances below £50,000 will drop from 1.98% to 1.74%.

And that is not all, HSBC has said the rates on this savings account will again change in April.

In two months, the interest will drop from 1.74% to 1.98%.

An easy access savings account lets you get your hands on your cash without restrictions.

There is usually no charge for withdrawing money from your account.

HSBC’s Premier Savings account is only available to those who qualify for its Premier banking services.

Typically, customers must have £50,000 already in an HSBC account or make £100,000 a year.

HSBC will also lower the rates on its more accessible Flexible Saver account from 1.49% to 1.34% on April 17.

A flexible savings account allows you to save and access your money without a fixed term.

You can deposit and withdraw money as often as you like.

At 1.34%, HSBC’s offer is at the lower end of what is on the market.

Chip Instant Access Account offers a 4.85% AER, with a minimum deposit of £1.

Meanwhile, Hargreaves Lansdown offers 4.51% AER, and the minimum deposit is also £1.

ALL CHANGE

It comes after the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), the BoE’s rate-setters reduced the base rate from 4.75% to 4.5% earlier this month.

The base rate is used by lenders to determine the interest rates offered to customers on savings and borrowing costs.

A base rate cut can mean that mortgage rates are lowered, which is good news for homeowners.

But savers can be left with the short end of the stick as the interest rate they earn on their savings can also drop.

Markets are expecting the base rate to drop as low as 4% by the end of the year, which would see the interest rate on the Saver account reduce even further.

Of course, if the base rate increases again then the account will mirror this.

Numerous banks have been cutting their savings rates following the Bank of England’s decision.

Barclays  slashed the rates on its Everyday Saver and Rainy Day saver accounts.

For the Everyday Saver, the interest rate has been lowered from 1.51% to 1.26% on balances up to £10,000.

The Rainy Day Saver, which is for Barclays Blue Rewards members and Premier Banking customers, is reducing its rate from 5.12% to 4.87%.

Where to find the best savings rates

Many savings accounts offer miserly rates meaning that money is generating little or no return.

However, there are ways to get your cash working hard. Sun Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to make sure you money is getting the best interest rate.

Easy access savings accounts offer flexibility for customers, meaning they can dip in and out of cash when needed. However, the caveat is that rates can change at any time.

If you’re keeping your money in an easy access account, you’ll need to keep checking whether it’s the best paying account for your circumstances and move if not.

Check in at least once a month to see what is happening in the market.

Check what is offered by your bank – sometimes the best rates are for customers only.

But do search the wider market as often top savings accounts are offered by lesser known providers.

Comparison sites are a good place to check for the top rates. Try Moneyfactscompare.co.uk or Moneysupermarket.

You can search by different account type. You’ll usually get a better interest rate if you can lock your money away for a fixed amount of time, but it’s always a good idea to keep some money in an easy access account in case of emergencies.

Don’t overlook regular savings accounts often pay some of the best rates, but you’ll need to commit to monthly payments. This can be a great way to get into a savings habit while earning top rates at the same time.

Erik ten Hag gives major update on future and reveals he ‘misses Old Trafford’ after Man Utd sacking

ERIK TEN HAG has given a major career update after being sacked by Manchester United.

The Dutchman was relieved of his duties at Old Trafford at the end of October after winning just three of their nine Premier League games under him and sitting 14th in the table.

Speaking on SEG Stories he spoke about what he ‘misses’ about Man Utd[/caption]

Things have not improved at his old club under successor Ruben Amorim with the club now in 15th and having lost 12 from 26 games in the league – a run not seen since the club was last relegated.

Quarterly accounts revealed it cost stint Man Utd £14.5million to sack Ten Hag, his staff and former sporting director Dan Ashworth.

However, the 55-year-old has now reflected on his time at the helm of the Red Devils, admitting there is one thing he misses more than any other.

Speaking to SEG Stories, he said: “If there is one thing I miss, it’s Old Trafford.

“You’re always working towards a dot on the horizon but you never get to the horizon.

“We’ve had many highs at Manchester United, but as I always say there is always room for improvement. And good is not enough, you can do better.”

Ten Hag always thought highly of the Man Utd faithful, pending an emotional thank you letter to them after his sacking in which he said: “Dear fans, let me start by thanking you.

“Thank you for always being there for the club. Whether it was a game far away or a tough match at Old Trafford, your support has been unshakeable.

JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS

“The atmosphere at Old Trafford has always been electrifying, thanks to you. I felt it many times.

“Also in away games, it gave the team and me an incredible feeling to hear the United chants taking over the opponents’ stadiums, whether the game was in England, Europe or during the summer tours…

“I want to thank you for giving me this feeling and for your support. I also want to thank the staff in every department of the club for their unwavering support in good times and bad.

“I wish all Manchester United fans nothing but success, trophies and glory. Your support and the warmth I received from everyone at the club helped me feel at home. Thank you for this chapter in my life.”

During Ten Hag’s time in England, he won the League Cup and FA Cup.

But he also oversaw Man Utd’s worst-ever Premier League finish in his second season before kicking off another record-breaking campaign in all the wrong ways.

Ten Hag has been linked with a variety of managerial jobs, including Borussia Dortmund, after his two-and-a-half-year spell in Manchester came to an end.

He said: “I had already decided for myself, ‘Okay, I’m not doing anything until the 1st of July.”

As well as the general pressures of the Man Utd job, Ten Hag was forced to deal with player mutinies from Cristiano Ronaldo and later Jadon Sancho.

Meanwhile, a bust-up he had with Rapheal Varane also came to light last week.

The centre-back revealed the pair had a heated argument in November 2023 when discussing the team’s form and set-up, which left Varane frozen out of the team for two months.

The Frenchman told The Athletic: “It’s hard to find the right words, it was very tense at times.

“Sometimes he made an effort to listen to the players’ feedback. Sometimes he made decisions without listening.

“So there were ups and downs. It was complicated at times. He always needed an example of a player who was alone the entire time he was at Manchester.

“He did that with at least one important player on the team. He was always in conflict with certain leaders of the group, that is his way of managing.

“We had a robust discussion. We told each other some truths but then I didn’t play again for almost two months.

“I said I didn’t agree with certain ways of doing things regarding the relationship between him and the team.

“It wasn’t something that I thought was good for the team because some players weren’t satisfied.

“It was not good in terms of the relationship with the coach. He said, ‘OK I heard what you said’, and after that I didn’t play.

“I also have to recognise what was good. He gave me the peace of mind to come back from my injury to play in the FA Cup final.

“He was counting on me, that was very positive, it allowed me to play my role in the team.”

Varane also added he was “surprised” Ten Hag was kept on following the FA Cup final – one of many poor decisions from Ineos in their first 12 months in charge of United – as the “connection with the group no longer existed”.

I still breastfeed my four-year-old son – people say I’m ‘vile’ but I think it’s perfectly natural

A MUM-OF-TWO has come under fire for continuing to breastfeed her four-year-old son.

While she views it as perfectly natural behaviour, many people have called her “vile” for it.

In her viral video, the TikTok user who goes by Studio Somer (@studiosomer) shared her unbothered attitude towards her haters.

She pointed out the flaw in most people’s logic when it comes to breastfeeding.

“For some reason after their first birthday it because the most vile thing you could do,” the mum said in the caption of the clip, which received 4.2 million views.

She added that “people will give you their opinion, especially online.”

The TikToker has previously stated that she will allow both her four-year-old and her 19-month-old to “breastfeed until they are ready to wean”.

She explained that “every time” she sits down, her children want to be “held, nursed, or cuddled”.

And while she struggles to “have a moment to myself”, she pointed out that her older self with miss these times.

The mum shared that some people have accused her of continuing to breastfeed for her own benefit.

She recalled how online trolls have told her “You’re doing it for you”.

And breastfeeding isn’t the only unique parenting technique she has adopted.

The stay-at-home mum revealed that her toddler “has never slept in a crib”.

Instead, she and her husband placed a mattress on the floor of their bedroom to allow for “contact sleeping”.

“Are we really telling mums that nursing and holding their babies to sleep is a bad thing?” she asked.

TikTok users shared their thoughts on the mum’s breastfeeding approach in the comments section.

“There’s just a point where it’s weird and wrong,” wrote one follower.

What are the recommendations around breastfeeding?

The NHS recommends breastfeeding your baby exclusively (feeding them breast milk only) for the first six months, but it’s completely up to you to decide when you want to bring it to an end – and there’s really no right or wrong way to do it.

The NHS says weaning often happens gradually as your baby begins to eat more solid foods.

They note that solid food shouldn’t replace breast milk, as there is evidence to suggest breast milk helps a baby’s digestive system when processing solid food for the first time.

“Once they are eating solids, your baby will still need to have breast milk or formula as their main drink up to at least their first birthday,” recommends the NHS.

“Cows’ milk isn’t suitable as a main drink for babies under one, although it can be added to foods, such as mashed potatoes.”

You can also combine breastfeeding with formula, too and the NHS says “phasing out” of breastfeeding is often the easiest way.

For example, dropping one feed in the day or at night time.

After around a week, you can begin to think about dropping another.

“If your baby is younger than one year, you’ll need to replace the dropped breastfeed with a formula feed from a bottle or (if they are over six months) a cup or beaker, instead,” they say.

You can breastfeed for as long as you want, and while the NHS recommends breastfeeding your baby exclusively for the first six months, you shouldn’t feel like you cannot continue for longer.

The World Health Organization says: “Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended up to 6 months of age, with continued breastfeeding along with appropriate complementary foods up to two years of age or beyond.”

“If the child is old enough to ask for a refill then they are too old,” said another viewer

“Why would you breastfeed that older one? Weirdo,” asked a third person.

“You will never see me breastfeeding a child that old,” commented another TikTok user.

“What four!!! That’s nasty, [the] kid’s old enough to drink Ribena,” pointed out one commenter.

“Jeez, way too old to be breastfed but hey guys who breastfeed their kids beyond one, it’s your monkey your circus, cringe worthy,” wrote another viewer.

Shoppers ‘in heaven’ after spotting giant packs of Tunnock’s teacakes for just 50p

TUNNOCK’S famous Snowballs have been spotted on sale for just 50p at a major supermarket.

The British favourite was spotted in the superstore over the weekend, for nearly 90% off its retail price.

Shoppers reported a stack of the marshmallow treats on sale at an Asda in Northern Ireland.

A snap of the deal was reportedly taken at the Omagh store and posted on the Hotdeals UK Facebook page.

The box of 18 Tunnock’s Snowballs was reduced to just 50p, or just 2.8p each.

The coconut marshmallow favourites normally sell for £4.50, saving shoppers £4.

The price of Asda’s Tunnock’s Snowballs is the lowest on the market we could see with other retailers offering pricier deals on the famous chocolate.

An eight pack of Snowballs is priced at £2.75 on the Sainsbury’s website.

Morrison’s is selling four Snowballs online for £1, and Iceland is offering six for £1.50.

Tesco are selling eight Snowballs for £2, but they’ve sold out online.

Shoppers keen to get their hands on the deal flocked to their local Asda, but many were left disappointed.

“Not in our Asda,” one said.

“Love them but not seen them,” a second reported.

A third joked they wanted 20 boxes: “Could you deliver £10 worth to me please? I’m Portland, Dorset.”

Others offered tips on how to store both Tunnock’s Snowballs and Teacakes, saying they taste great out of the freezer.

“Both teacake and snowball are wonderful, frozen and unfrozen, all a matter of choice,” they wrote.

“I prefer teacake unfrozen, but snowballs are amazing after a couple of hours in the freezer.”

Supermarkets often reduce items to clear shelves and make way for new stock. Or they may have excess stock they need to sell.

How to save at Asda

Shop the budget range

Savvy shopper Eilish Stout-Cairns recommends that shoppers grab items from Asda’s Just Essentials range.

She said: “Asda’s budget range is easy to spot as it’s bright yellow! Keep your eyes peeled for yellow and you’ll find their Just Essentials range.

“It’s great value and I’ve found it has a much wider selection of budget items compared to other supermarkets.

 Sign up to Asda Rewards

The savvy-saver also presses on the importance of signing up to Asda’s reward scheme.

She said: “Asda Rewards is free to join and if you shop at Asda you should absolutely sign up.

“As an Asda Rewards member, you’ll get exclusive discounts and offers, and you’ll also be able to earn 10% cashback on Star Products.

“This will go straight into your cashpot, and once you’ve earned at least £1, you can transfer the money in your cashpot into ASDA vouchers.

We’ve previously rounded up the best supermarket loyalty schemes – including the ones that will save you the most money.

Look out for booze deals

Eilish always suggests that shoppers looking to buy booze look out for bargain deals.

She said: “Asda often has an alcohol offer on: buy six bottles and save 25%.

“The offer includes selected bottles with red, white and rose options, as well as prosecco. There are usually lots of popular bottles included, for example, Oyster Bay Hawkes Bay Merlot, Oyster Bay Hawkes Bay Merlot and Freixenet Prosecco D.O.C.

“Obviously, the more expensive the bottles you choose, the more you save.”

Join Facebook groups

The savvy saver also recommends that fans of Asda join Facebook groups to keep in the know about the latest bargains in-store.

Eilish said: “I recommend joining the Latest Deals Facebook Group to find out about the latest deals and new launches in store.

“Every day, more than 250,000 deal hunters share their latest bargain finds and new releases.

“For example, recently a member shared a picture of Asda’s new Barbie range spotted in store.

“Another member shared the bargain outdoor plants she picked up, including roses for 47p, blackcurrant bushes for 14p and topiary trees for 14p.”

But this means stock availability and price can vary between stores. Cheap deals like this are also snapped up quickly.

TUNNOCK’S TAKES SWIPE AT RIVALS

Tunnock’s have been in the news in recent weeks for a new advert taking a swipe at rival chocolate brands.

The Scottish biscuit firm teamed up with Taggart star Alex Norton to investigate other chocolate makers “getting away with murder” by shrinking their treats.

In a series of radio adverts he declares Tunnock’s will never reduce the size of their iconic teacakes, snowballs, caramel logs and caramel wafers.

Several chocolate bars including Galaxy and Cadbury have shrunk in recent times while their price has remained the same or gone up.

The companies behind the products have blamed the rising cost of materials for the growth of shrinkflation.

However Tunnock’s has said it will never compromise on the quality or size of its world-famous range.

In one of the ads, Norton, 75, who played Detective Chief Inspector Matt Burke in Taggart between 2002 and 2010, says: “I knew what that woman meant when she said Tunnock’s were on the side of the ordinary shopper.

“She was showing me her box of Tunnock’s snowballs. ‘Tunnock’s are keeping them the same size, making Tunnock’s snowballs smaller would be a crime,’ she said.”

“I said ‘Don’t worry missus, I’m on the case and I’m watching all the downsizers’. There’s no shrinkflation in Tunnock’s.”

Fergus Loudon, sales director at Tunnock’s, said: “All over the country people are looking at old familiar products which are suddenly a lot smaller and many of them are saying, ‘They’re getting away with murder.’

“So who better to deal with that than Scotland’s answer to Poirot.”

How to save cash on your food shop

Money saving experts at HSBC UK have revealed their top tips to saving cash on your food shop.

1. Set a budget
Creating a budget will help to stretch your budget. Start by working out how much you spent on food over the last three months, then each month you get paid, set aside a certain amount for food.

2. Plan your meals
Make a list of your main meals for the coming week, including the ingredients you need, and stick to it. Don’t get drawn into offers for things that you don’t need. If you already have some food leftover from the week before, try to see what you can do with that first.

3. Think about when and where you shop
It’s best to shop on a full stomach so you don’t get tempted. Shopping less often can help you to think about what you buy and it may help you to stick to your budget.

4. Go online
Shopping online is a good and easy way to manage your budget. It can also help to track expenses, whilst also preventing impulse buys.

Steak at anniversary dinner left me bedbound, in agony & unable to move – condition is almost impossible to diagnose

AN ENTREPRENEUR was left bedbound in immense pain after eating a steak at her dad’s anniversary dinner due to her hidden condition.

Collette Beckett, 27, from Chester, Cheshire, was left confined to her bed for three days after consuming the red meat dish when dining with her family.

She previously worse a hot water bottle around her waist as it was the only way to help alleviate her agony[/caption]

The businesswoman, who loved sewing from a young age, began her own venture aged just 24 before quitting her makeup counter job to focus on her brand Jet Black Clothing full-time.

Collette described experiencing an extreme stabbing sensation in her hipbone, so painful that it would “take your breath away”.

She initially thought she had an appendicitis, but whenever she approached a doctor she says her concerns were brushed away, she told Manchester Evening News.

The designer says she could only get through the pain by strapping a hot water bottle to her waist and by taking codeine throughout the day.

She was eventually rushed to A&E by her family after her suffering became so severe, and she was told she would have a colonoscopy six months after first arriving in hospital.

But Collette was left in tears and further agony as her appointment allegedly kept being pushed further back, describing how she felt trapped at home like a “hermit”.

She also described how she struggled to eat, barely moved in bed as she was surrounded by pillows, and only drank water.

After crying to a receptionist on the phone, Collette fortunately received a last-minute appointment where she learnt she had Crohn’s disease in her small bowel.

She explained it was hard to diagnose her issue as she only had pain as a symptom.

Crohn’s disease is a condition that causes inflammation in the digestive system – it most often begins slowly and may get worse over time.

Symptoms can range from mild to severe but come in intermittent periods, with some patients having periods of remission where symptoms can disappear for anywhere from weeks to years.

While incurable, there are treatments to help control the symptoms of Crohn’s.

Collette described how grieved the life she once knew, following her diagnosis.

She said: “I felt like I was grieving my old life and the idea of knowing that whenever I go on holiday now, I have to think about what I can eat at an all-inclusive, whether I can take my injections with me.”

The 27-year-old said she has now had to learn which types of food trigger her pain, with red meats being the worst.

After consuming a Miller & Carter steak, which had been delivered, she ended up in bed for three days, unable to move.

The family had gotten together on the anniversary of her dad’s death and Collette said they always have steak for the occasion.

She described the horrific pain she went through over the multiple day period, saying: “It’s the kind of pain where you’re lying there, hoping it will go away.”

What is Crohn's disease?

CROHN'S Disease is a lifelong condition that causes parts of the digestive system to become inflamed.

It’s estimated that over 155,000 UK adults are currently living with it and it is named after a New York doctor, Burrill Crohn, who reported a number of cases back in 1932.

It is a condition that causes inflammation of the digestive system.

The inflammation is the body’s reaction to injury or irritation, and can cause redness, swelling and pain.

Although sufferers will have periods of good health, there are flare-ups where symptoms are more active.

The main symptoms are digestive – such as diarrhoea and stomach cramps – but sufferers also experience fatigue and weight loss.

Unintended weight loss and blood and mucus in your stools are also common symptoms.

People may only experience one of the above symptoms and some experience severe symptoms or mild problems.

There may also be weeks or months where symptoms are mild or non-existent.

Less common symptoms include a high temperature, feeling sick and being sick, joint pain and swelling, inflammation and irritation of the eyes and mouth ulcers.

If you have persistent diarrhoea, abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss or blood in your stools, visit your GP.

It is one of the two main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease – the other is a condition known as Ulcerative Colitis.

It can be caused by the genes a person has inherited, an abnormal reaction of the immune system and is probably triggered by something in the environment.

People who suffer from Crohn’s disease can find it difficult to maintain a healthy weight.

Weight loss and weight gain are both symptoms of Crohn’s.

Certain medicines for the condition can also affect weight.

A common one, prednisone, is known to cause temporary weight gain.

Often weight loss is one of the main symptoms, which cause be caused by a lack of appetite.

Medication can also cause nausea and abdominal pain, further reducing appetite.

People may also fail to properly absorb nutrients due to their condition, again leading to weight loss.

And if a certain food or food group is known to exacerbate someone’s symptoms, they may avoid it entirely.

If you have lost a lot of weight or are failing to maintain a healthy weight, your doctor will likely work out a diet and nutrition plan.

There is no cure for the disease, so treatment aims to reduce symptoms and maintain remission.

Drugs and surgery can give long periods of relief from symptoms, and some may cause temporary weight gain.

Some people say smoking cannabis eases the symptoms.

Simpler things like eating different foods and working out what might be causing flare-ups can be helpful.

However, Collette has now been put on medication for her agonising symptoms that have helped to dramatically reduce her pain.

Her last attack of pain came in July and she’s been able to do “everything” she wants since then.

The 27-year-old added that while she still feels fatigued, that her joints hurt, and that she gets fairly frequent headaches, these side effects are normal and manageable for her.

Collette has joined a WhatsApp group chat with many other women who also have the condition, which can vary greatly between cases.

She described how some girls struggle with dairy, while she does not, and said she has had to reduce both red meat and curries from her diet as they can cause gas in her stomach.

Collette’s clothing line, Jet Black, was also affected by her diagnosis as the designer struggled to handmake clothes to order.

This led her to become a manufactured brand last year, meaning her clothes are now made in a factory.

Moment firework chaos erupts on Scots street after van full of rockets torched as residents evacuated from homes

TERRIFIED residents and children were evacuated after a van packed with fireworks was set alight by a yob.

The vehicle erupted into flames in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Locals were rushed from their homes and roads closed as firefighters battled to bring the blaze under control.

Footage posted online shows fireworks exploding from the van as flames took hold while deafening bangs led residents to label the scene a ‘war zone’.

No one was injured during the blaze which took place around 1am on the town’s Braes Avenue.

A suspect was seen making off and police are appealing for information to trace him.

He is described as white, in his 30s, of slim build with a shaved head and was wearing a dark-coloured hooded jacket with dark-coloured bottoms.

In a post online, Clydebank East Community Council said: “Disgusting behaviour in Braes Avenue in the early hours.

“A van deliberately set on fire while containing boxes of fireworks, absolutely no regard for the kids living in these houses.

“I’ve never witnessed anything like it, kids screaming in sheer terror. Absolutely awful. Thankfully everyone is safe.

“Should anyone wish to speak to the anti-social behaviour team they will be at our next meeting on Monday 3rd March at 7pm in Centre 81.”

They added: “The van was parked on a driveway in between two blocks of houses.

“The van was targeted and had boxes of fireworks inside.

“Thankfully no one was physically injured and eventually got back into their homes, it was horrific.”

Councillor Lauren Oxley said: “Absolutely shocking, hope everyone is alright and isn’t too shaken up. I’ve written to the council and police for some further information and to ask what action is being taken because clearly the current patrols aren’t enough.”

Marie McNair MSP added: “Disgusting behaviour. Hope everyone is okay.”

Shocked locals also hit out at those behind the attack.

One said: “Thought we were in a war zone last night, so glad no one was hurt.”

Another posted: “Why would people do a thing like that? Do they have no regard for others? Someone could have been really hurt.”

Detective Constable Andrew Baldacci, Clydebank CID, said: “I’m appealing for anyone who has information about this man, or the man himself, to come forward.

“I’d also ask anyone who saw what happened or has any information about the incident and has not already spoken to police, to contact us.

“Similarly, if you have private CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from the area, please review this and bring anything of significance to our attention.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.56am on Sunday, February 23, to reports of a vehicle fire on Braes Avenue in Whitecrook, Clydebank.

“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene, and firefighters extinguished the fire affecting one van which was well alight.

“There were no casualties, and the crews left the scene at 2.19am after ensuring the area was made safe.”

Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number 0246 of 23 February or alternatively phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Proving to be one of the strongest couples throughout the show, fans were shocked when The Sun revealed they went their separate ways shortly after filming.

However, Lacey has now spoken out about the upcoming reunion, which will see the pair in a tear-filled reunion as they discuss what went wrong between them.

In a teaser for the episode, both Lacey and Nathan are seen in tears, with Nathan telling cameras: “It just breaks my heart, do you know what I mean?”

But Lacey has suggested there’s more to the scenes than the moment suggests.

Warning of what’s to come, Lacey took to her Instagram Stories and shared a video of their wedding day, writing: “This is the man I married, not the man in the clip for the reunion. I’m not fake, I genuinely loved Nathan, the episode is edited for [your] entertainment. I didn’t change after the Experiment but was just simply wasn’t on the same page.”

“They’ve had to cut out about Nathan not wishing me good luck for the race for life as it would have looked bad on him,” she added.

“But just keep an open mind and that we [were] both hurt. Please be mindful, be kind and non-judgemental. As I do have feelings and this was incredibly difficult for me.”

She later shared messages of support from fans thanking them, and in a separate post teased what was to come, and why they broke up.

Nathan claimed in January, shortly after their split, that she had dumped him, but Lacey insists it was his lack of support in a charity run that finally ended the romance.

“Hey everyone, so I will be talking on this properly soon but Nathan didn’t wish me good luck for my race for life, that was the main factor of our breakup! But they didn’t air it as didn’t want Nathan to look bad,” she said.

“If you see in the edited teaser clip I’m getting frustrated? Why because the person who I thought loved me didn’t wish me good luck, he lacked passion for us.

“I tried to get me and him back on track, reached out numerous times but he blocked me like I was nothing.”

“He got his phone out to try and slander me but he’s forgetting he agreed and wanted to be in a ”boyband and do modelling” we both as a couple spoke on this,” she said.

“I didn’t get my phone, when I’ve got me pouring my heart out for him to block me. 2 Sides to every story!”

“Also I want to add, I had no idea he thought I wasn’t genuine until the reunion when he was going around to everyone slandering me,” Lacey continued. “So when I saw him for the first time and he’s saying I’m fake, I was in shock.”

“During and after the show myself and Nathan talked about magazine deals/interviews together as a couple or as friends! We had such a good friendship as well as relationship!

People need to be open minded.”

Viewers will be able to see the discussion in tonight’s reunion, which will see stars from the most recent series get back together for a catch up, as well as faces from previous MAFS years.
