As one might expect, the story is nowhere near its end. However, the latest update from the author has shaken up the entire fandom. According to the official announcement, My Dress-Up Darling would end in the next chapter.

My Dress-Up Darling manga will end with chapter 115 on March 21, 2025. There was no prior announcement from the mangaka or the publisher, and the story was nowhere near its end. Readers are of the opinion that the series has ended too abruptly and without fully exploring its potential.
Marin and Gojo’s relationship is currently on an upward slope as readers are excited for the next few chapters. But the sudden finale announcement took everyone by surprise. The fact that there was no final arc announcement or prior notice makes everything even more suspicious. Hell, even Jujutsu Kaisen was better than this.
This has led fans to speculate that the manga’s abrupt ending might be due to any personal or health-related issue of the author. Health issues are rampant among mangakas, due to which fans are used to sudden breaks or long hiatuses. But ending the series just when it was getting good is unheard of.
Berserk and Hunter x Hunter have already shown the solution to My Dress-Up Darling‘s problems
If Shinichi Fukuda is indeed facing health-related issues, there are plenty of ways to deal with it rather than to snatch away the manga that fans have loved and relied on for years. Series like Berserk and Hunter x Hunter are prime examples of manga that continue despite the worst circumstances.
Yoshihiro Togashi often faces health risks during the creation of his manga, which is why he has taken ungodly hiatuses before. Hunter x Hunter still goes on frequent breaks so that the author does not have to overwork. Similarly, Yuki Tabata only releases Black Clover chapters a few times a year so he can take care of himself and his family.
Kentaro Miura, on the other hand, is no longer in this world. But Berserk continues publication because Miura had confided his story in his best friend, Kouji Mori, who is hell-bent on finishing the manga in his friend’s stead. Similarly, Fukuda could have taken an extended hiatus till she recovered or used assistants to help her. At the end of the day, the real cause behind the sudden ending was not revealed, and thus, it is hard to suggest ways to correct an already concrete decision.
