TOM GRENNAN faces a race against time to join his team-mates for this year’s Soccer Aid.
The singer has been England’s top man in recent years thanks to his background as a former youth player at Luton Town.

But fan favourite Tom has an anxious wait ahead of this season’s Unicef charity clash – after having emergency surgery on his right leg.
When Tom posted this snap of his leg in plaster, we dropped him a quick message to wish him a speedy recovery.
He jokingly said he was gutted he didn’t have a wilder rock ’n’ roll injury story to share.
Tom told me: “I would love to whip up a Louis Walsh-style story for you, like he did in that Boyzone documentary recently, but unfortunately it isn’t quite as exciting as that.
“I’ll try to think of something more rock ’n’ roll I can tell people.
“My tendons have gone in my leg and I’ve had to have surgery to get back to normal.
“But obviously my first thought was Soccer Aid.
“It’s pretty much my favourite thing of the year – the chance to get out there and play – so that’s the goal to get back for. I’m gutted, not what I had in mind.
“Fortunately, I don’t have any gigs scheduled in that recovery window so this is the goal . . . get back in time to play.”
There is a big year ahead for Tom, who recently released his latest single Shadowboxing.
It is the first track from his forthcoming album Everywhere I Went Led Me To Where I Didn’t Want To Be, which is out in August.
Tom, who had success with his festive release It Can’t Be Christmas, also has a nationwide arena tour scheduled later this year.
The full line-up for this year’s Soccer Aid is due to be announced shortly, but has regularly featured a host of superstars including Usain Bolt, Sir Mo Farah, Will Ferrell and Robbie Williams alongside ex-professional players.
It has raised more than £106million to date, so here’s hoping Tom can make his recovery and get back out on the pitch.

Libertines root out their healers for tour therapy
TIMES have certainly changed for The Libertines – those former drug-fuelled party boys have swapped dealers for healers on their European tour.
The Sun told yesterday that frontman Pete Doherty risks losing his toes due to complications with Type 2 diabetes, but he and the Can’t Stand Me Now rockers have been keeping chilled backstage with a couple of holistic healers.
They run a company called Root 2 Rise and claim to offer an “alternative medicine tool kit based on ancient wisdom to support healing and maintenance”.
Among the activities they have offered to Pete and his bandmates Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell are the Wim Hof Method – incorporating breath work and cold water therapy – sound therapy, reiki, cacao plant medicine, drumming and yoga.
They have been working with Pete for some time and were featured in his documentary with Louis Theroux, where they encouraged him through an ice bath.
That may well get the blood pumping, but it doesn’t look like it’s doing much for Pete’s health.

Brian’s new guitar is strumthing special
QUEEN legend Brian May has started working on new music after teaming up with Gibson to release a guitar.
He chatted about writing fresh tracks while unveiling the Brian May SJ-200 12-string acoustic guitar at a launch in London.

“I did a little impromptu performance for Christmas,”
Brian said. “I just started strumming to my beautiful wife.
“Any future releases? Very possibly. I hope so.
“I strum it the whole time because I love it. And it’s inspiring.”
Only 100 of the guitars are available to buy, and Brian said he collaborated with makers Gibson after needing a new guitar for Queen’s upcoming tour this year.
Brian, who made his Red Special guitar from an old fireplace, and plays using a sixpence as a pick, added: “One of the things I asked for was for the octave strings to be placed around the other way from where it is normally done.
“I like to pick upwards and hear the top notes when I’m playing. If you look at this guitar, the beauty of it, and the beauty of the sound, and look at the science in this guitar, look how much technology and craftsmanship has gone into it.
“Gibson was able to put the universe on it in a figurative way and the planet Mercury is here, and that is a little nod to a friend of mine that is always with me.”

3 days agoworld NewsComments Off on Game of Thrones strongman looks unrecognisable and ‘ages 15 years’ as he shows off bald head and new facial hair
FANS reckon Hafthor Bjornsson has slipped and snipped down the superhero rankings – after shaving off his hair.
The former World’s Strongest Man and Game of Thrones actor went from Thor to Captain Underpants in the eyes of one shocked admirer.

And far from raving over his shaving, many of Bjornsson‘s followers gave his new look the chop.
One responded: “That has aged you 15 years.”
Another claimed: “I wish there was a way for me to have not seen this.”
A third suggested “This is cursed” and a fourth fan pleaded: “Thor man, you’ve gotta stop this.”
Bjornsson unveiled his dramatic razoring to the world in a somewhat understated manner
The ex-basketball star, who also tried boxing, shared a grinning head-and-shoulders selfie with just one accompanying word: “Moustache.”
That could be a classic distraction technique!
But it’s more likely to be a reference to the elimination of not just his head hair but also his famously-bushy beard.

And the Icelandic hero did get some backing for his dramatic change in appearance.
One fan pronounced Bjornsson the “best looking 200kg beardless man alive”.
Maybe such a glowing verdict will help the 36-year-old stay positive after a scary accident in the gym.
Bjornsson dropped a 200kg weight on his back while attempting an overhead press.
He made light of the heavy weight problem by posting a clip of the mishap alongside the words: “No weights were injured in the making of this video.”
But as fans quickly fully voiced concern he returned to add: “I’m thankfully fine! Thanks for all the messages.”

3 days agoworld NewsComments Off on Trolls hound me for getting a ‘12-year-old’ pregnant – they call her a ‘bad mum’ & say we’re in it for the council house
A MAN has shared his experience of relentless trolling and hounding after being falsely accused of getting a ”12-year-old” pregnant due to her appearance.
Lyndsey, a 24-year-old from the UK, had a rare form of cancer as a child which affected her development and caused her to have an exceptionally youthful appearance.
youtube/trulyDespite being accused of having an ‘under-age’ relationship, the two were actually set up by Lyndsey’s mother[/caption]
youtube/trulyLyndsey was told by medical professionals that she would have a difficult time conceiving because her condition[/caption]
Now a mum-of-two, Lyndsey faced brutal online trolling when she first announced that she and her husband, Jonathon, were pregnant, with many slamming the pair for being in an ”age gap relationship”.
In a YouTube documentary posted by Truly, Jonathan confessed that at first he thought his wife-to-be was only 12 or 13 years old.
However he later realised that Lyndsey’s petite frame was actually the result of her having been diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, when she was just five.
The cancer resulted in Lyndsey only reaching 4’10 in height – a huge difference from her partner who towers over her at 5’10.
The couple frequently have to deal with judgmental stares in the street – and even worse comments online.
They recalled being ”shouted” at in the street on a day out in Exmouth when Lyndsey was heavily pregnant with their child.
Over the years, they’ve learned to cope with the judgement from trolls on social media who don’t understand Lyndsey’s condition.
”We had people shouting us and stuff like that,” the young father admitted.
”People assume in our relationship that Jon sees me as a child and we can’t be as happy as we are,” Lyndsey said.
”It can be hard but because we love one another, we just push it to one side,” Jonathan added.
Things got particularly bad when Lyndsey fell pregnant and decided to upload a clip announcing the wonderful news.
They received streams of vicious comments on their TikTok video, with one writing: ”She will not be a good mum because she looks like a child.”
The comments were both upsetting and confusing for the lovely pair, who were beyond thrilled they could conceive naturally given Lyndsey’s condition.
”I know I look like that, what do you expect me to say?” Lyndsey questioned.
”I can’t help that I look like that, why are you being so nasty?”
Despite being accused of having an ”under-age” relationship, the couple were actually set up by Lyndsey’s mum.
What is Rhabdomyosarcoma?
Rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare type of sarcoma cancer. It is an aggressive and highly malignant form of cancer.
Sarcomas are cancers that develop in the connective tissues of the body, such as muscle, fat, nerves, blood vessels, bone and cartilage.
The face is a common place to find this type of cancer, as is the soft tissue in the bladder, arms and legs.
Rhabdomyosarcoma is more common in children and teenagers than in adults.
And also, for unknown reasons, is more common in men than women.
Up to 60 new Rhabdomyosarcoma cases are dianogsed each year in the UK.
The treatment for rhabdomyosarcoma depends on the patient, and treatment usually startes with a course of chemotherpay.
But as sarcomas are rare cancers, patients are typically referred to a specialist unit for treatment.

”I fell in love as soon as I saw him,” Lyndsey shared with the viewers.
They began ”talking” and Lyndsey eventually told Jon ”her story”, which allowed him to understand her better.
”I told you my story and that changed how you saw me me, didn’t it?” said the young mother.
Having received her cancer diagnosis at an early age, Lyndsey had struggled with confidence issues during her adolescence.
”Growing up with my condition was pretty difficult. When I was in school I lost my hair to chemotherapy and no boy really wanted to be with me,” she bravely opened up.
”A lot of people say ‘She’s way too small for me. I don’t want someone who’s super skinny and who’s like a twig’ which obviously knocked my confidence of falling in love and finding a relationship.”
But she found her one and only in Jonathan who was 21 at the time while Lyndsey was 16.
Lyndsey was told by medical professionals that she would have a difficult time conceiving because her condition.
She was told her chances of falling pregnant were slim and that she would likely have to resort to IVF and that it would ”never happen naturally”.
But she against all odds, she proved she was a special case.
The loved-up couple were in such disbelief after seeing the positive test that they went and raided their local shop of even more pregnancy tests just so they could be sure.
”I was told my midwives that it was going to be horrendous for me and that I was going to be constantly sick and be in agony because I’m just so small,” Lyndsey explained.
She went on to carry their son for 39 weeks before having a planned C-section to ensure he arrived safely.
The couple described the birth of Flynn as ”the best thing ever”.
”He’s the happiest, cheekiest little boy ever,” said the proud mother, adding that his arrival had boosted her confidence.
