4 days agoBlogsComments Off on I got a £3K Universal Credit payment this month but I’m a broke, pregnant 21-year-old mum-of-3 & with £2 to survive on
A 21-YEAR-OLD mother has revealed that she receives £3,000 a month in Universal Credit, but on the same day of her payment, is left with just £2 in her bank.
A young mother has revealed that despite being paid £3,000 from Universal Credit, on the same day, her bank account has been left with just £2tiktok/@millie.210The pregnant mum-of-three got candid on her outgoings, leaving many totally stunnedtiktok/@millie.2103
Not only this, but after her bills, she is left ‘skint’ with three kids.
To top things off, the mum-of-three is now pregnant with baby number four, due in September 2025.
The young woman, who is from the UK, has a job and also makes “a little bit of money” from her TikTok videos via the Creator Fund, took to social media to share her situation.
Millie, who is eligible for Universal Credit, which is given to UK residents with a low income or who need help with their living costs, as well as child benefits, uploaded her short clip with the caption ‘I can assure you this isn’t rage bait or whatever else you like to accuse me of.Roll on payday’.
As a result, she said: “I got paid £3,000 from Universal Credit today and it is all gone.
“I’ve paid the most important bills and I’ll just have to wait until I get my wages to pay for the rest of them, which isn’t a problem, but I have been left with £2 even though I had that £3,000 in the bank this morning.”
The young mother explained that her nursery fees are “absolutely through the roof”, hence why her Universal Credit payment doesn’t last long.
Millie then continued: “But I am making changes as of next month to make sure that this isn’t gonna constantly be the case because I wasn’t expecting it to go up as much as it has.”
Despite trying to cut back on costs, Millie shared: “And also to top it off, TikTok decided to disqualify one of my videos from the Creator Rewards Program, so I am £200 down on that so this is just a little cry for help to see if I can get this video up to as many views as I have that one, just so I’m not losing out on any money.”
Subsequently, she confessed: “Life is rough, it is so bad at the minute.”
Am I entitled to Universal Credit?
According to the GOV website, if you’re on a low income or need help with your living costs, then you could be entitled to Universal Credit.
To claim, you must live in the UK, be aged 18 or over (with some exceptions if you’re 15 to 17), be under State Pension age, and have £16,000 or less in money, savings and investments.
Other circumstances are if you are out of work, or unable to work, for example because of a health condition.
Parents rush to support
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @millie.2103, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 85,700 views, 1,789 likes and 113 comments in just 24 hours.
Other mothers were eager to support Millie and many flocked to the comments to share messages of love for the young parent.
Supporting you girl! Hopefully you can get the nursery fees sorted
TikTok user
One person said: “You’re doing great! You need them in childcare to work. The haters would hate even more if you didn’t work.”
Another added: “Ridiculous how much nursery fees are.”
How much is child benefit worth?
THERE are two child benefit rates, one for the eldest child and another for younger children.
You get £21.15 per week for your eldest or only child (£1099.80 a year)
You get £14 for each of your other children (£728 per year, per child)
You get the money for each child under 16 (or under 20 if they stay in approved education or training)
If families split up, how much you’ll get for each child depends on how you claim.
If you have 2 children and one stays with you and the other stays with your ex-partner, you’ll both get £21.15 a week for each child.
If one parent claims for all the children, you get £21.15 for the eldest and £14 for each younger child.
Only one household can claim for each child
A third commented: “Supporting you girl! Hopefully you can get the nursery fees sorted.”
Meanwhile, someone else questioned: “No hate but surely it’s not even worth you working if you’re left with barely anything once you’ve had to pay nursery.”
To this, Millie replied and confirmed: “No it’s not, I’m planning ahead and trying to figure out how to go about it all. Tied to a contract for at least 2.5 more months.”

Next up is JP McManus’ Majborough who is currently a best price 4-7 for the Arkle.
His odds collapsed after Nicky Henderson confirmed former favourite Sir Gino would miss the Festival for the second year in a row.
Then things really hot up.
Owner Rich Ricci suggested Lossiemouth could still line up in the Mares’ Hurdle.
Mullins said she had been trained for the Champion Hurdle all season but Brighterdaysahead defecting to the feature race could force a classic late switcheroo.
Following his comments on Wednesday night at Sun Racing’s Cheltenham Preview, Lossiemouth was eased out to 6-1 for the Champion Hurdle and was cut into 11-8 from 7-2 for the Mares’ Hurdle, while she is odds-on across the board in non-runner no-bet markets.

Ricci said: “She disappointed at Christmas and she had a horrible fall at Leopardstown in a race where we really didn’t learn anything.
“We had a chat with Willie on Tuesday night, she’s been left in both races and I think we’ll wait and make a call at the weekend.
“Paul chose to ride State Man at Leopardstown and I’d like to see who he is going to ride in the Champion.
“I know it will be difficult for him to get off State Man, he won the Champion last year, but who he chooses to ride is a factor.
“I’m not embarrassed to say we’ve campaigned her as a Champion Hurdle horse and it hasn’t worked out.
“UItimately, it will be Willie’s decision and we’ll have some input and make it over the weekend.
“She has got one more piece of work to do so we’ll see how she goes. Remember, she is only six, she is still a young horse.”
If Lossiemouth does line up in the Mares’ then it leaves Constitution Hill as the final leg of the four-fold.
He will have a hell of a race on his hands against Gordon Elliott’s mare – and it could go down as an all-time classic.
Constitution Hill is 8-11 currently and the biggest loser in the book across the week for Paddy Power and BetVictor.
A spokesperson said: “The prospect of four odds-on shots on day one wouldn’t have been welcomed by us, and it’s questionable how much it would have served up to the betting public.
“Now we have a true challenger to Constitution Hill in Brighterdaysahead.
“I think come the day, and depending on the shape of the race, we could just see briefly a little bit of odds-against on Constitution Hill, who as it stands remains our standout worst ante-post result in the book.”
