The Cincinnati Bengals put the franchise tag on Tee Higgins for the second straight year, but this time around, they’re hoping that they can come to an agreement on a long-term deal. Other teams around the league probably don’t know that, and they’ve been reaching out to see if Higgins is available. Unfortunately for them, […]

Skillet Cookie

Serves: 2
Prep time: 15 mins, plus 10 mins standing
Cooking time: 15 mins

Ingredients:
*50g unsalted butter, softened
*40g light brown sugar
*20g granulated sugar
*1 egg yolk
*1/2tsp vanilla extract
*70g plain flour
*1/4tsp bicarbonate of soda
*1/4tsp salt
*60g chocolate chips, plus extra for the top

To serve:
*Ice cream
*Chocolate or caramel sauce, for drizzling

Method:
1. Preheat the air fryer to 150°C.
2. In a small bowl, beat the butter and both sugars with a spoon to form a paste. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract and mix until combined, then fold in the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt until just combined. Don’t overmix.
3. Fold in the chocolate chips, then scoop the batter into a 15cm cast-iron dish and spread it out evenly. Sprinkle more chocolate chips on top. Place in the centre of your air fryer and bake for 10-15 minutes, until the top is crisp and golden brown – it should still be slightly gooey inside.
4. Leave to stand for 10 minutes, then carefully remove it from your air fryer using oven gloves (the skillet will be very hot!).
5. Top with ice cream and drizzle with sauce if you wish. Enjoy! It’s best served straight away, but you can reheat it in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes up to one day after baking.

Speculoos Magic Bars

Makes: 9
Prep time: 20 mins, plus cooling
Cooking time: 20 mins

Ingredients:
*125g speculoos biscuits (I use Biscoff), plus 6 extra, broken into pieces
*50g salted butter, melted
*200g condensed milk
*150g milk and white chocolate chips
*30g speculoos spread (I use Biscoff), melted

Method:
1. Line a 15cm x 15cm air fryer safe baking tin with thick baking paper and preheat the air fryer to 160°C.
2. Put the 125g of speculoos biscuits into a food processor and process until finely crushed. Alternatively, put them into a plastic bag and crush finely with a rolling pin. Tip into a medium bowl, then pour in the melted butter and mix together with a spoon until combined.
3. Scoop the mixture into your tin and press down firmly with the back of a spoon. Pour over the condensed milk, then sprinkle over the chocolate chips and broken speculoos biscuits and press down with the back of a fork.
4. Air fry for 20-25 minutes, until the edges are crisp. Leave to cool completely in the tin.
5. Drizzle with the melted speculoos spread, then cut into nine squares and enjoy! Store in an airtight container in the fridge or at room temperature for up to five days.

Peanut Butter Lava Cakes

Makes: 2
Prep time: 10 mins, plus 20 mins cooling
Cooking time: 20 mins

Ingredients:
*1tsp unsalted butter, melted
*2tsp cocoa powder

For the cakes:
*50g semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
*50g unsalted butter, cubed
*1 medium egg, plus 1 medium egg yolk
*50g icing sugar, plus extra for dusting (optional)
*30g plain flour
*10g cocoa powder
*Pinch salt
*2tbsp smooth and creamy peanut butter, plus extra, melted, for drizzling (optional)

Method:
1. Prep two 6cm x 6cm air fryer safe ramekins by brushing them with the melted butter, then dusting them with cocoa powder, making sure it covers the inside of the ramekins, then tap out any excess.
2. Preheat the air fryer to 170 ̊C.
3. In a small bowl, melt the chocolate and butter, stirring regularly until it comes together, then set aside to cool for 10 minutes.
4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg, egg yolk and icing sugar for a few minutes with an electric hand mixer until it thickens and turns light in colour.
5. Pour in the chocolate/butter mixture and stir until combined, then add the flour, cocoa powder and salt and stir until smooth. Scoop the batter into your 2 prepped ramekins, then dollop a tablespoon of peanut butter into each and press it in slightly so it’s covered.
6. Place the ramekins in the middle of your air fryer and bake for 10–13 minutes.
7. Carefully remove the ramekins from the air fryer (they will be very hot). The lava cakes should spring back when pressed gently. Leave to stand for 10 minutes. Turn them out onto plates, dust with extra icing (powdered) sugar or drizzle with some melted peanut butter, if you wish, and serve straight away. Enjoy!

Rise of the air fryer

Air fryers have maintained their spot as the most popular kitchen gadget in the UK last year.

Annual sales figures from Lakeland show sales of air fryers were up 1,175% on last year – when they were already soaring in popularity – as households continue their efforts to save energy on standard ovens.

The retailer said: “In previous years, their popularity could be attributed to consumers seeking healthier cooking options and fast cooking times.

“However, with the cost-of-living crisis continuing, air fryers have a renewed appeal as an efficient alternative to oven cooking.”

The only other products that “shaped the year” were heated airers – with sales up 51% – and heated textiles, such as heated throws and ponchos, Lakeland said, as households bought gadgets as an alternative to expensive dryers and central and electric heaters.

From Cheltenham to Ascot – the best race-day looks including £30 Zara dress that will make you stand out from the crowd

Collage of four women modeling different outfits.

MARCH is here at last, bringing sunshine and the excitement of the Cheltenham Festival – the first of many thrilling horse-racing events this season.

That means it’s time to up your style game and start planning your race-day outfit.

There’s plenty to think about, with dress codes being a top priority.

Ascot has strict rules, and failing to follow them could mean being turned away at the gate, so it’s definitely worth paying attention to the details.

You don’t need to break the bank to claim the title of best dressed —there are plenty of stylish and affordable pieces on the high street that will have you arriving in style.

Whether you’re making a last-minute dash to Cheltenham or getting ahead of the game for Ascot, Fashion Assistant Emily Regan has made shopping a breeze by curating five stunning race-day looks.

COUNTRY CHIC

  • Boots, £89.99, Reserved – BUY NOW
  • Scarf, £45, Joules – BUY NOW
  • Bag, £45.99, Mango – BUY NOW

If you prefer a classic equestrian style but want to match the look to the season, here’s how to achieve that for spring.

Checks were all the rage in winter, and this cape-style dress from River Island gives the trend a softer twist, thanks to its lighter hues, making it ideal for spring.

The gold buckle belt adds an equestrian touch (reminiscent of the Gucci Horsebit chain!), giving it a luxurious feel for just £66.

Pair with some suede ruched boots to keep your legs warm, and complete the look with this beautiful brown bag and a printed neck scarf.

If you feel a chill, a gold sparkly cape cardigan is a lightweight layering piece that drapes effortlessly over the dress, complementing its shape without any fuss.

FLOWING FLORALS

  • Bangles, £19.99, Zara – BUY NOW
  • Shoes, £27.99, New Look – BUY NOW

If the dress code is quite strict, it likely includes guidelines about covering your shoulders and a “just above the knee” length requirement.

While this might not seem too difficult at first, finding a dress that meets both criteria can be challenging.

Florals are a popular choice at the races, and this dream dress from & Other Stories ticks all the boxes, ensuring you stay within the rules.

With sleeves and a flowy silhouette, it’s perfect for any weather.

For those attending the royal enclosure, a headpiece is typically required, and Phase Eight offers plenty of stylish options.

If pink isn’t your thing, try accessories in shades of green or yellow.

THE POWER SUIT

Collage of a two-piece outfit: pants, blouse, blazer, headband, shoes, and bag.

  • Headband, £38, Clementine & Mint – BUY NOW
  • Shoes, £46, River Island – BUY NOW
  • Bag, £69, Charles & Keith – BUY NOW

If you don’t typically gravitate towards dresses, a stylishly tailored suit offers a fantastic alternative, and it screams confidence, too!

While this Karen Millen co-ord may come with a higher price tag, it’s a smart investment, as you’ll be able to wear each piece individually long after race day, making it great value in terms of cost per wear.

For a more feminine touch, layer the suit with a soft pussybow blouse to add a delicate contrast to the sharp lines of the suit.

If you’re not fond of extravagant hats or fascinators, fear not, there are plenty of chic headbands out there that deliver the same classy look.

Complete your ensemble with a coordinating bag and a pair of classic sling-back heels for an elegant, polished finish.

MONOCHROME

  • Earrings, £15.99, Zara – BUY NOW
  • Sunglasses, £9.99, H&M – BUY NOW
  • Shoes, £14, Primark – BROWSE HERE

Many race-goers opt for monochrome outfits, but instead of sticking to just black or white, try combining both for an elegant, old-money vibe.

Abercrombie & Fitch has a fantastic selection of dresses, including this polka dot design – ideal if you’re comfortable with spaghetti straps.

For a more relaxed dress code, this could be the perfect choice – keep it simple with black heels, but elevate the look with striking accessories.

A pearl bag would not only complement the outfit, but also make a chic addition to your holiday wardrobe.

Finish with some black sunglasses for that extra touch of sophistication.

BRIGHT & BOLD

  • Bag, £88, Anthropologie – BUY NOW

If you like bold colour, don’t shy away from incorporating vibrant shades into your outfit, especially if your race-date is scheduled during the warmer summer months.

This stunning satin dress from Zara is an absolute bargain – it’s under £30, plus it doubles up as the perfect holiday piece.

The ruched straps add a modern twist and the satin fabric not only exudes luxury, but also feels incredibly light and airy, making it an ideal choice for a sweltering day.

Plus, don’t hesitate to experiment with colour combinations – mixing hues can elevate your look and make you stand out from the crowd.

Outfits NEVER to wear to the races, according to a fashion pro

Fabulous' Fashion Editor Clemmie Fieldsend has revealed what you should never wear to the races

It should go without saying that dresses must cover your bum — ideally knee-length or longer.

Coats should be tailored, as a nod to the grandeur and smartness of the day.

And footwear should remain on your feet – all day. So make sure shoes are comfortable.

Another rule of thumb is to never wear white.

Remember, you’ll be penned in with hundreds of people, and will need to eat and drink — that means ample opportunity for spillage.

I’ll never forget the images of a punter in 2019 who spilled red wine down her white jumpsuit.

Her pals got creative and decided to drench the entire Pretty Little Thing outfit with the bottle’s remains to create a tie-dye look!

Instead, just remember your coat — not only because of the unpredictable weather, but should you slop ketchup from a hamburger down your front, you can cover yourself up, too.

When it comes to shoes, heeled sandals are a big no-no.

They are great for giddy-up glamour, but not suited to being outdoors all day.

Try a wedged heel or closed-foot court shoe with a small, chunky heel for extra support and comfort under the balls of your feet.

Zara Tindall always gets it right, for example with pair of black court shoes and slim-fit trousers.

Also, don’t be one of those country bumpkin try-hards!

A nod to equestrian style is fine, but you often see people dressing head to toe in tweed or wearing Peaky Blinders-style flat caps.

Finally, the best-dressed at Ascot are always mindful of their boobs.

Listen, I get it. If you’ve got ’em, flaunt ’em.

But just not too much.

Tastefully show the crease of a cleavage and leave everything else to the imagination.

Showing off your entire bust is something that should be reserved for the comfort of your home – or a night out on the pull!

Katie Price’s daughter Princess Andre, 17, hits back as she’s trolled for ‘always being on holiday’

KATIE Price’s daughter Princess has clapped back at trolls after being accused of ‘always being on holiday’.

Princess, 17, shrugged off the criticism by sharing a video online of herself in a tropical location.

Princess has told fans ‘that’s the way she likes it’ in a new sun-kissed video[/caption]

The star, whose dad is Australian singer Peter Andre, has also accompanied her clip with the SZA track 30 By 30.

Princess mouthed along in the footage to the lyrics: “That’s the way I like it.”

Wearing a blue crop-top and skirt coord, the teenager also pulled back her long beachy hair and played with it.

Behind her was a swimming pool and, beyond that, a lake and a speedboat, and a row of waterfront villas.

It is believed Princess shot the video during a recent trip to Australia’s Gold Coast to visit family.

Princess captioned her video ‘you’re always on holiday’, adding on TikTok: “That’s the way I like it.”

But rather than face more criticism, Princess has been inundated with messages of support from her army of followers.

One told her: “Enjoy your self hun, don’t let haters bring u down.”

Another added: “My daughter is always away n she’s not even famous 🤣. live while you’re young.”

And a third chimed in: “Why not! I would be an all if I didn’t have any responsibilities.”

Princess is Katie Price’s eldest daughter.

Katie, who has five kids in total, shares her and brother Junior with her ex-husband Peter Andre.

Princess is often hailed a “mini me” of her reality star mum, thanks to their strikingly similar looks.

And although she is still in school, Princess has big plans for her future.

Last year, she exclusively revealed to The Sun how she plans to be a millionaire by the age of 20.

Princess already has plenty of brand ambassador deals on the go, including partnerships with Superdrug’s Studio London range and fashion brand Pretty Little Thing.

The influencer is also managed by the same company who look after her dad Peter and brother Junior’s affairs.

When asked about her plans to be a millionaire by 20, Princess said she was on track to make it happen and confessed: “I mean . . . Yeah, I’d say I am.”

Princess also revealed how she pays herself a salary and saves the rest for the future.

The nepo baby explained: “I treat myself, rather than buying things for the sake of it.

“I’m paid, and then I have a savings account which I transfer everything else into. I’m saving for a car for when I pass my test, and one day I want to buy my own house.”

Is it finally OK to sleep in your make-up? Here’s everything you should know…

Collage of makeup products including foundation, concealer, and mascara.
GETTY

APPLY SPF, never pick your spots, always wash your make-up off.

The beauty industry has many rules, but cleansing your skin before you hit the hay (regardless of how tired, late, or drunk you are), is one we all understand, not least because the results of not doing so are pretty much instantaneous.

Here’s everything you need to know about hybrid make-up[/caption]

“Make-up can trap pollution, dirt, and grime, so leaving it on while you sleep can lead to congestion and collagen breakdown,” says skincare expert Fiona Brackenbury.

However, if you flick through your make-up bag or browse a cosmetics stand, you’ll notice that many make-up products now contain skincare ingredients, like hyaluronic acid and vitamin C.

Known as hybrid make-up, these products promise high performance and skincare benefits, and the industry is expected to boom from £17.25billion in 2024 to £26.99billion by 2032, according to research by Mintel.

“A few years ago, hybrid make-up wasn’t as effective as the traditional formulas, but recent ingredient advancements have changed the game,” says make-up artist SJ Froom.

Vieve Skin Nova Complexion Balm, £34

We saw hundreds of hybrid make-up products launch in 2024 – such as plumping collagen-packed Vieve Skin Nova Complexion Balm, £34 – while others went viral, like Erborian BB Cream, £42, which contains a skin-perfecting white ginseng complex and sells every 28 seconds worldwide.

So, have we finally found make-up that we can sleep in? Here’s everything you should know.

THE BASE-ICS

Givenchy Rose Perfecto, £32

Skincare-infused foundation is the kind of hybrid make-up you might have heard of already.

“When hyaluronic acid is added to foundation, it may make the product look ‘dewier’ when on the skin,” says consultant dermatologist Dr Sophie Momen.

The acid is increasingly included in lip products, too, such as Givenchy Rose Perfecto, £32, where it can help smooth and soften the skin.

Thanks to the recent hype around lash health, mascaras infused with peptides – an ingredient known to promote stronger, longer lashes – are also appearing on the beauty shelves.

“They’re a fantastic way to ensure you are conditioning the lashes, which can otherwise become dry and brittle,” says Fiona.

Peptides can also be found in blush and bronzer drops, improving the efficacy of the products while delivering hydration.

They’re found in the viral Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Drops, £34, and “help ensure that the product is well-absorbed and pleasant to use on the skin, too,” says Dr Momen.

How To Save Money On Beauty Buys

IF your purse is feeling tighter than ever before and you're looking to save cash on your make-up routine, have you ever thought of trying out beauty dupes?

Here are five of the best recommended beauty buys that are almost identical to the posh versions, but at a fraction of the price.

FACE BASE If you can’t afford Charlotte Tilbury’s £52 Magic Cream, why not try a dupe that costs just £5.49 from Superdrug?

TONE IT UP If Drunk  Elephant’s £62 Protini Cream is out of your price range, you’ll need to check out the new dupe in Home Bargains.

TINTING IT With Fenty’s game-changer skin tint costing £29, a popular supermarket’s affordable alternative might just be the thing for you.

GET COVERED At £29 for a Tarte concealer, the new Primark dupe is much more affordable at just £3.50.

SPRAY YAY For those wanting to smell fresh without the price tag, Aldi’s new Prada and Chloe perfume dupes cost a fraction of the price.

IN THE MIX

While it’s tempting to use a cocktail of smoothing, blurring, hydrating, and brightening ingredients in your skincare routine, there can be too much of a good thing.

Seeking advice, doing your research, and paying attention to your skin is important when using skincare actives.

Thankfully, the ingredients found in hybrid make-up pose less of a risk, because they aren’t as potent and focus on priming and hydrating your skin.

“This is because make-up is often applied unevenly or in thin layers, reducing the effectiveness of skincare benefits, and formulas also contain lower concentrations of active ingredients than dedicated skincare products,” says consultant dermatologist Dr Maham Khan.

However, it’s still worth being mindful – especially of ingredients like vitamin C, which can cause irritation and adverse reactions.

“However, when it comes to peptides and hyaluronic acid, the more the merrier, as we need a lot to make a difference to the skin, so there’s no chance of overdoing it,” says Fiona.

HERE TO STAY?

Sadly, products that do it all are still a pipe dream. While hybrid make-up can supplement your routine, and improve the wear of your make-up, it’s not potent enough to replace your favourite skincare products.

“I would never suggest you only rely solely on hybrid make-up products – instead, see them as a great way to top up, support, and boost your skincare routine,” says Fiona.

And yes, you still have to take it off – while hybrid make-up formulations can help boost our complexions, wearing them overnight is still the ultimate beauty no-no.

“Theoretically, the skincare actives in hybrid make-up might provide some hydration or antioxidant benefits overnight, but even hybrid formulations can mix with environmental pollutants, oil, and dead skin cells throughout the day, potentially leading to clogged pores, irritation and a compromised skin barrier if worn overnight,” says Dr Khan.

So, here’s the bottom line: hybrid formulas are some of the most comfortable, flattering, and skin-loving make-up products on the market – just don’t forget your cleanser at bedtime.

Make-up fan Milcah wore her foundation overnight[/caption]

Sub-Editor Milcah Farjado braved it and slept in hybrid make-up for a week, here’s what she thought

I’ve been wearing (and sleeping in) Clarins Skin Illusion Full Coverage Foundation, £39, a hybrid foundation formulated with hydrating hyaluronic acid, for seven days.

I’m obsessed with its finish, which is mattifying but not chalky or dry, and it has a smoothing, blurring appearance on my skin – meaning there’s no need for powder!

I have oily skin, but I only have to touch-up or blot my complexion once a day when wearing it, and the foundation has a buildable coverage.

Clarins Skin Illusion Full Coverage Foundation, £39

When I wear it overnight, there is no transfer to my pillow – a miracle – and I haven’t woken up to any breakouts, which is what usually happens when I sleep in make-up!

This foundation has become my go-to, and while I haven’t seen any adverse reactions from wearing it overnight, I still think I’ll take the advice of derms and wash it off at bedtime to protect my complexion.
