‘Love the jacket’, cry fans as RTE’s Maura Derrane explains ‘nostalgic’ memories behind ‘gorgeous’ on-air look for Today

RTE star Maura Derrane has explained the “nostalgic” memories behind her “gorgeous” on-air look.

The popular presenter was back on screens yesterday for another episode of her hit show Today, alongside Daithi O Se.

Maura explained the sentimental meaning behind the jacket

The Galway beauty is renowned for stylish looks she wears on the telly.

And after each show Maura takes to her Instagram to share details of the day’s outfit with her fans.

Maura posed for a quick snap in RTE‘s Cork studio and looked as happy as ever.

Always one for a boutique buy, she wore a stunning reversible gingham jacket from Memories in Carlingford.

The fabulous quilted piece had a blue and white gingham pattern on one side – the way Maura wore it today.

But it can also be reversed to reveal a solid royal blue jacket with bow ties as clasps.

The jacket currently retails on Memories’ website for €57.

Under the jacket, Maura popped on a white tank-top and paired her top with some dark denim jeans.

Her jeans were from New Mood Boutique in Wexford, where prices range from €60 to €90. But sadly Maura’s pair are currently unavailable on their site.

Never one for many accessories, Maura popped on some small silver earrings and a pair of white heels.

She had her brunette hair down and styled in her usual beach waves and kept her makeup light, opting for a bright red lip gloss.

Showing off her style, Maura told of her nostalgic connection to the jacket: “This is such a nostalgic print for me.

“I had a gingham dress when I was a little girl and I adored it. This fab jacket is from Memories, Carlingford.”

Friends and fans rushed to the presenter’s comment section to gush over her telly look.

Frances asked: “Omg fabulous where did you get the jacket? It’s amazing.”

Patricia gushed: “Love the jacket.”

Julie said: “Looking gorgeous Maura.”

Another fan added: “Fantastic Maura… love it.”

Love Island couple forced to DENY split after fans spotted ‘worrying clue’ in video

The couple, who were crowned the All Stars winners last month, left viewers cringing after an awkward exchange on Hits Radio with Fleur East.

When quizzed about whether they’d made things official since leaving the villa, Casey, 28, dropped a bombshell.

He admitted: “No, not yet. No, we’re not boyfriend and girlfriend yet.”

Fleur, 36, pressed him, asking why couples nowadays need so many steps before committing, but Casey doubled down.

“The difference of us being boyfriend and girlfriend and where we are now, there’s absolutely no difference at all,” he shrugged.

“Technically, I’m still single, guys.”

Fans went into meltdown, with one blasting: “Caseyyyyyyy just ask itttt!!!!”

Another ranted: “He doesn’t want to, and that couldn’t have been made any more clear from this video.”

One viewer cruelly quipped: “They’ll last max 2 months, who wants to bet me?”

Clips of the interview went viral on TikTok, with fans pointing out the red flags.

They said Casey’s lack of enthusiasm, Gabby’s tense body language, and their apparent jealousy over fellow finalists Ekin-Su and Curtis’ blossoming romance appeared to be proof they were heading for a split.

Despite the swirling speculation, a rep for the couple insisted: “Casey and Gabby are still very much together and are not on the verge of splitting.”

2015 – Despite poor Jess Hayes being Max Morley’s second choice on the show, they did win – but they didn’t last as a couple. STATUS: Broken up.
