Eagle-eyed EastEnders fans spot huge Sonia Fowler blunder after shock murder storyline
EAGLE eyed EastEnders fans spot a huge Sonia Fowler blunder after the soap’s shock murder storyline.
The long-running BBC soap recently celebrated their 40th anniversary with a dramatic hour-long special that saw Reiss Colwell meet his gruesome end.

Fans will remember that Reiss originally kept his wife Debbie a secret from Sonia Fowler, eventually revealing that she was comatose in a care home.
However, his dark side soon emerged when he began stealing from his wife to fund IVF treatments with Sonia.
It was later revealed that Reiss had taken matters into his own hands, murdering Debbie while she was still in a coma.
In a shocking twist, he then framed Sonia for the crime, with his pregnant partner wrongfully put in prison.
As if that wasn’t enough, Reiss went on to kidnap Bianca Jackson after she uncovered the truth, leading to the catastrophic series of events that culminated in his own downfall.
During the high-stakes anniversary episode, Reiss caused a devastating explosion at the Queen Vic after crashing into the iconic pub.
In the aftermath, he tried to keep Sonia, Bianca, and Lauren Branning trapped inside, demanding their help as Sonia went into labour.
But just as he appeared to have the upper hand, Bianca pushed him away and snapped: “Drop dead.”
Reiss dodged a falling pile of rubble, laughing as he declared: “Well, that was close.”
Seconds later, a bathtub from the floor above came crashing down, crushing him instantly and bringing his reign of terror to an end.
In recent episodes, Bianca has been struggling to adjust to life following the Queen Vic fire as well as her time held captive by Reiss.
But eagle eyed fans have spotted a huge blunder that won’t be doing Bianca or Sonia any good!
Asking on social media Reddit one fan wrote: “Why’s Sonia still got a picture of her and Reiss up??”
Alongside the comment was an image that showed a framed photograph of Reiss and Sonia still centre place in Sonia’s house.
Sonia Fowler’s biggest EastEnders storylines

Sonia Fowler has featured in EastEnders since 1993, and after starring in thousands of episodes, has been featured in storylines ranging from teenage pregnancy to a cancer scare. Here are some of her biggest.
- Teen Pregnancy and Birth of Chloe Jackson (1999-2000)
Sonia discovered she was pregnant at the age of 15. Viewers were shocked by the sudden birth, as the teen went into labour without even realising she was pregnant. Martin Fowler turned out to be Chloe’s father. Sonia initially decided to give the girl up for adoption. - Death of her boyfriend (2002)
Sonia’s boyfriend, Jamie Mitchell, was hit by a car driven by her baby’s father. Jamie had just bought an engagement ring for his girlfriend before being struck down by the thoughtless Martin, who was texting while driving. Although the Jamie was rushed to hospital, docs said his liver was irreparably damaged, and he ended up dying with Sonia by his side. - Marriage to Martin Fowler and Family Tensions (2004-2007)
In a shock twist Sonia went on to marry the man responsible for her previous boyfriend’s death. Their relationship was marred by conflicts and infidelity, and they went on to split up after just three years. At one point in their marriage Sonia was taken hostage by Sarah Cairns, who became obsessed with Martin after he flirted with her during a drunken night out. The couple went through struggles again when the adoptive parents of their daughter were killed in a car crash, leaving them responsible for Rebecca. Because of the tension in their relationship Sonia ended up cheating on her husband with one of her co-workers, nurse Naomi Julien. - Custody Battle for Rebecca (2005-2007)
Baby Chloe, who was renamed Rebecca, was kidnapped by her mum early in life before being returned to her adoptive parents. After Neil and Sue Miller died they awarded Martin full custody of the child because of Sonia’s extra-marital affair. The mum was left distraught to be cut out of her daughter’s life. - Gastric Band Surgery and Weight Struggles (2014-2015)
Sonia became insecure about her weight and arranged to have a secret gastric band surgery in Bulgaria. She later collapsed at an exercise class after suffering complications from the operation. - Discovery of Bex’s Suicide Attempt (2019)
Sonia’s daughter Rebecca tried to take her own life in a heartbreaking storyline which left viewers in tears. She found Bex unconscious after taking an overdose, and was devastated. Sonia blamed herself for pushing her daughter to breaking point, as she had tried to force her into going to Oxford despite Bex saying she didn’t feel ready for university.
“This cannot be helping poor Bianca” replied one fan.
Another added: “And why hasn’t Bianca smashed it to pieces yet?”
“Clearly a blunder” said a third.
“Omg I’m surprised Bianca hasn’t gotten rid of it! I bet they haven’t even noticed it’s still there.
“You get so used to your surroundings” said another soap fan.
While another concluded: “Why hasn’t Sonia redecorated Dot’s house is the real question.
“That kitchen especially! And there’s a school photo of Abi Branning & all sorts in that living room!”
EastEnders airs on BBC One and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
Michelin-awarded restaurant suddenly closes down after just 1 year after ‘straw that broke the camel’s back’ costs
ANOTHER Michelin star restaurant has closed its doors in the UK after battling soaring costs.
High streets across the country have been rocked by closures with this plant-based eatery being just another to have been crushed by financial pressures.

Native was a farm-to-table restaurant co-founded by Imogen Davis and Ivan Tisdall-Downes.
It was located on the Netherwood Estate on the Herefordshire-Worcestershire border and served a wide variety of modern British foods.
Native had begun life as a simple market stall in 2012 and had called Covent Garden, Borough Market, Osea Island and Mayfair home.
The brand’s biggest triumph came when it won a green star at the 2025 Michelin Star Awards in Glasgow, shortly after its move to the Netherwood Estate.
However, it closed suddenly just months later in March 2025.
A spokesperson for the prestigious restaurant said: “Extreme highs are often followed with extreme lows.
“Following the amazing news at this year’s Michelin awards we have returned home to find a broken extraction system.
“What we hoped was a quick fix turns out to be a deeper problem with our systems and so sadly, cannot be an immediate fix.
“The large cost to repair this equipment is unfortunately the straw that broke the camels back and has had a huge detrimental effect on a small business with such tight margins and unfortunately has put us in a position whereby the directors at Hestia Ltd have taken the decision to close the restaurant for the foreseeable future.
“We have cancelled all future reservations via our online booking system and if you have paid a deposit a full refund will have been actioned already, you can expect this back within 7 working days.
“We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused and wish all our customers well for the future.”
Native is far from the first beloved restaurant to close down this year.
La Goccia, a Covent Garden restaurant which was part of the Petersham empire, shut down in February.
The restaurant said that pressures from the October budget and the inability to hire workers because of Brexit led to them putting down their shutters.

MANY Food and drink chains have been struggling in recently as the cost of living has led to fewer people spending on eating out.
Businesses had been struggling to bounce back after the pandemic, only to be hit with soaring energy bills and inflation.
Multiple chains have been affected, resulting in big-name brands like Wetherspoons and Frankie & Benny’s closing branches.
Some chains have not survived, Byron Burger fell into administration last year, with owners saying it would result in the loss of over 200 jobs.
Pizza giant, Papa Johns is shutting down 43 of its stores soon.
Tasty, the owner of Wildwood, said it will shut sites as part of major restructuring plans.
Another restaurant named The Petersham, which was part of the same chain, was also forced to close its doors for the same reason.
Defending her budget, The Chancellor claimed that she had taken the necessary steps to stabilise a turbulent economy.
By the end of 2024 and Labour’s first six months in government, the economy had unexpectedly grown despite shrinking under the Tories just a year earlier.
