Major supermarket slashes the price of lingerie to £1.50 in mega sale – there’s kids clothes for less than £5 as well

ON average, a good bra will set you back around £20 – but now thrifty shoppers have spotted affordable lingerie going for just £1.50.

So, if you’re in a dire need of a new bra but don’t want to fork out a fortune, fear not, as Facebook users have got you covered.

One deal hunter, Nicola Steele, took to the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group after spotting loads of cut-price wardrobe essentials in ASDA.

According to the mum, from Manchester, the mega supermarket has slashed prices across its lingerie, kids’ clothing and even homeware sections.

The thrifty shopper managed to get hands on piles of bargains, including different bras for as little as £1.50.

The monster haul included a sexy pastel yellow set (knickers for £1.50 and bra £3.50) that’s perfect to welcome spring, as well as a bright blue T-shirt bra, slashed from £6 to just £1.50.

Another gorgeous find was a sparkly Padded Plunge bra, which was going for a mere £1.50, down from £8, saving Nicole a fortune.

The money-smart ASDA customer also managed to snap up a Two-Pack T-shirt Bra for just £2 – or a quid each – down from a whopping £16.

According to Nicole, who did her shopping in the Horwich branch, all underwear was being flogged for £1.50 to just £3.50.

Meanwhile, the children’s section was packed with purse-friendly outerwear – boys’ coats were going for £4.50 and a fiver, whilst girls’ coats were priced at £12.

All chuffed with the mega haul, Nicola – one of the 2.6million members of the page – said she also snapped up a Stitch-themed cutlery set for the little ones, or any Disney fan, for £1.23.

Informing fellow bargain hunters about the epic offers, Nicola wrote in the caption of the post: ”ASDA Horwich this was yesterday only just managed to get round to posting.”

Since then, the post has taken the internet by storm, winning the Facebook user a whopping 120 likes in less than 24 hours.

Dozens flogged to comments to tag their friends and family members, with some sharing their fabulous buys.

One woman said: ”I just got hoodies down to £3 and 3 pack of T-shirts down to £3 too!”

A second moaned: ”Won’t see prices like that in our asda, most £6-£9 in sales clothes and boots roughly half original price.”

How Asda has upped it's game

By Fabulous’ Fashion Director Tracey Lea Sayer

Take a whizz round the aisles in Asda it is hard not to notice how good the George at Asda clothing range is at the minute.
Add into the mix their recent collaboration with fashion designer Roksanda, celebrating 40 years of London Fashion Week, which is full of the designer’s signature colour blocking dresses, oversized Borg fleeces and bold stripe co-ords, it is easy to see why the brand is on fire!

All proceeds from the range go to The British Fashion Council to help promote young designers, so a win win!
There also seems to be a return to quality in the clothing range.
‘Style Stories’ with fashion influencer Erica Davies is a capsule collection of Autumn must-haves which delivered not only on style, but on great pocket friendly prices starting from £7.

Gorgeous quilted jackets, slogan sweats and a chocolate faux sheepskin flying jacket are among my faves.
Plus, George at Asda has just been crowned with the Best Kidswear in our Fabulous Fashion awards voted for by the Fabulous readers.
Click to buy enables you to shop the whole range online or you can just have a browse while you do the weekly shop.
You are welcome!

”Love these bras,” someone else chimed in, raving over the budget-friendly lingerie essential.

Whatever you’re buying, it’s always a good idea to shop around to find the best deal.

You can compare prices on websites like Google shopping, which is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web.

All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.

EVERYONE has a much-missed chocolate, sweet drink or snack that has disappeared from shelves.

And some major brands have been shaking up their offerings to keep shoppers on their toes in recent months.

Some have brought back items last seen years ago while others have introduced new flavours.

We’ve rounded up some of the best new arrivals and returning favourites to hit shelves.

Coca-Cola

Eight-pack of new Coca-Cola Lime.
Coca-Cola has brought back its iconic Lime flavour

Coca-Cola has brought back its Lime-flavoured drink after axing it around 17 years ago.

Shoppers were left devastated after the beverage, combining the classic Coke flavour with lime juice, was discontinued.

As of December, Farm Foods was selling a pack of eight 330ml cans of the drink.

Shoppers can find their nearest Farm Foods store by visiting www.farmfoods.co.uk/store-finder.php.

Ocado and Iceland are also currently selling a 1.75litre bottle of Lime Coca-Cola for £2.50 online.

Cadbury

Cadbury Caramel Mini Rolls were recently unveiled

Cadbury has launched a host of new and returning chocolates including one not seen since the 90s.

The chocolatier recently unveiled Caramel Mini Rolls, with a pack of 10 available exclusively at Asda for £2.38.

They’re set to hit Tesco and Morrisons shelves soon as well.

Last year also saw Cadbury bring back “yummy” 90s bar Top Deck – and it’s still on sale.

Shoppers can pick up the bar in a 110g size, with the price cheapest at Tesco where it’s £1.65.

Iceland is also selling a 95g bar of the chocolate, but it’s on sale for £1.75 – 10p more expensive than Tesco.

Tesco shoppers can also get their hands on new “Made to Share” Cadbury 180g bars for £2.65.

The bars are available to buy across Express and Superstores and via the retailer’s website based on local availability.

The bars feature playful packaging that divides the chocolate into sections labelled with relatable scenarios like “who cooked”, “who cleaned” and “who ate”.

Chocoholics will be able to get their hands on new Cadbury Dairy Milk Biscoff within days too.

Cadbury confirmed last month the hybrid chocolate would be on shelves in just over a months’ time.

We’ve checked and they’re not on sale at the major supermarkets just yet, so it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled.

Walkers

Walkers has been teasing the return of Worcester Sauce crisps on social media

Walkers has brought back its legendary Worcester Sauce flavour crisps after stirring up speculation they would make a return online.

The popular flavour, which was axed two years ago, has made a return, but only since March 4, for five days.

That means shoppers have just five days to plan their trip to the Wests Midlands town.

Plus, they only available exclusively at Charlie’s Convenience Store, 59 Barbourne Road, Worcester.

Nestle

Caramac fans were left devastated after finding out the bar would be axed

Nestle discontinued the Caramac bar in November 2023, citing dwindling customer demand and sales.

But it has since made sporadic appearances, including most recently on the Discount Dragon website.

Shoppers can pick up a multi-pack of 48 of the 30g bars for £18.99 instead of a recommended retail price (RRP) of £26.40.

Ferrero

Shoppers can’t get enough of the new Kinder Crunchy Cookies

Shoppers have been rushing to their nearest B&M after Ferrero launched new Kinder Crunchy Cookies.

The cookies are made up of a mixture of milk and white chocolate chips, coming in a pack of eight.

The new sweet treat, scanning at tills for £2.99, is being advertised as the perfect accompaniment to a cold glass of milk.

Britvic

Tango Strawberry Smash sugar-free can.
Britvic has unveiled a new flavour of Tango – Strawberry Smash

Britvic has unveiled a new flavour of Tango – Strawberry Smash – but shoppers can only pick up the fizzy drink for a limited time.

The beverage combines sweet strawberry with tropical pineapple flavours for a tangy punch.

Shoppers can pick up the new drink across a host of supermarkets in can or bottle form.

We spotted a 500ml bottle on Snappy Shopper for £1.25 while Amazon is selling a 2litre bottle for £3.35.

Heineken

Heineken has brought back its Murphy’s Stout after three years away

Heineken has re-launched a new stout to rival Guinness, after three years off shelves.

The decision to revive Murphy’s comes amid unprecedented demand for the drink, with stout giant Guinness even facing shortages late last year.

Shoppers can get their hands on four and ten-packs of the 4% tipple, priced at £5 and £10, respectively.

Murphy’s has not been stocked in supermarkets since 2022, when it was in Tesco.

Before then, it was available from Asda in 2021 and Sainsbury’s in 2019.

Mars

Tesco shoppers can snap up the Milky Way Crispy Rolls

Mars’s Milky Way Crispy Rolls are back on shelves after being discontinued almost three years ago.

Tesco is selling the iconic chocolate in its Express stores, while stocks last, for 45p a pop.

Iceland also brought them back for a week only at the start of last month, alongside new Bounty and Twix versions.

Shoppers could pick up the three crispy rolls for 50p each or three for £1.20.

M&S

M&S has unveiled a host of new Easter eggs

M&S has launched a series of new Easter eggs and shoppers can’t get enough of them.

This includes a new “Dippy Whippy” egg which comes packed with a mixture of orange mini eggs, orange jelly and marshmallow.

The 345g Easter Egg is priced at £12.

How to save on your supermarket shop

THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.

You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they’ve been reduced.

If the food is fresh, you’ll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.

Making a list should also save you money, as you’ll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.

Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.

This means ditching “finest” or “luxury” products and instead going for “own” or value” type of lines.

Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they’re misshapen or imperfect.

For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.

If you’re on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.

Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.
