However, Laura will not be taking part due to an “unavoidable clash” in her schedule.
A source told MailOnline: “Laura infuriated BBC bosses by pulling out of the Celebrity Apprentice special.
“There can be a lot of last-minute changes in television, but it was just days before filming started, and the team were left in a difficult position.”
“Laura’s schedule didn’t align, so she had to back out, but her decision put many people in an awkward spot.”
Joining the special are other well-known names, including TV personality Rob Rinder, actress Sarah Hadland, and 2019 Apprentice contestant Tom Skinner.
Further celebrity participants confirmed for the one-off show include Gladiator Matt Morsia, comedian Eddie Kadi, stand-up Shazia Mirza, former Strictly contestant Angela Scanlon, Paralympian Kadeena Cox, and Radio 1 DJ Charlie Hedges.
The Sun has contacted representatives for Laura and the BBC.
The return to a celebrity format is the first in six years.
One new signing in particular isn’t involved just to make up the numbers, he’s desperate to win.
A source said: “The bosses are so happy to have secured them both, as they are really big names for the cast and each have a strong fan following.
“Jake in particular is really competitive, so he will definitely want to win!”
The Beeb has yet to confirm the final line-up, which is expected to include a dozen people split between two teams of men and women.
The spin-off has gravitas and past high profile celebs to take part include Cheryl Cole and Piers Morgan.

2 days agoNews 1Comments Off on Bumper Women’s Premier Division season beckons between new addition and continuing popularity on TG4
THE Women’s Premier Division season kicks off tomorrow as it continues to grow.
Crucially this year, there are an even number of teams as Waterford join the senior ranks to make up a 12-team league.
Lord Mayor of Dublin Emma Blain with SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division players, from left, Ciara McNamara, Eimear Lafferty, Keelin Dodd, Karen Duggan, Pearl Slattery, Izzy Groves, Lynsey McKey, Jillian O’Toole, Aine O’Gorman, Danielle Griffin, Ciara Rossiter and Rachel Kelly
And it feels like a big year for the league to grasp the popularity of the game in Ireland.
The Women’s Premier has its own TV deal with TG4 to show 14 games, including Athlone Town against Wexford first up.
An average viewing figure of 33,608 last season showed an interest from the armchair fan.
But the league needs more of those on the couch to get through the turnstiles.
There was a record league attendance last year of 2,861 at Galway United v DLR Waves, though the average attendance — say the FAI — rose by five per cent.
Figures for the average for 2024 were not in the press release but it was 308 in 2023 across the then-11 clubs.
Elsewhere in LOI news, Bohemians have earned a lot of kudos for their work in the community over the years and there was another example shared by RTÉ News on Monday.
The Gypsies started the ‘Belonging to a Fair City’ programme in 20 north Dublin primary schools.
It seeks to teach pupils about the Irish experience of immigration so students have more awareness of what those moving here may have gone, or be going, through.
If you think it is unnecessary or wonder why Bohs don’t ‘stick to football’, have a look at some of the ignorant comments under RTÉ’s story.
Bohs are just looking out for their own community.
The last census in 2022 showed that 21 per cent of Dubliners were not born in Ireland.
So giving some fifth- and sixth-class students a bit more knowledge so that they know to ignore the stupid comments should be applauded.
2 days agoNews 1Comments Off on ‘Would have been killed’ – Horror as crane in busy Irish town collapses just INCHES from home & skip lands on parked van
HOMEOWNERS in a major Irish town had a lucky escape yesterday after a crane collapsed only inches from their house.
Residents in Navan, Co Meath told how the local community were left horrified following the incident.
A crane in Meath partially collapsed yesterday morningRTEThe skip fell onto a parked vanRTE
The incident saw a crane partially collapse this morning near a building site in a residential area of the busy town.
It occurred between Brews Hill and Emmet Terrace shortly before midday.
Nearby, there is an apartment block being developed at the construction site.
Here, it is understood that a crane was being used to remove a skip at the time of its collapse.
Significant damage was caused when the arms of the crane landed in the back garden of a home in Emmet Terrace.
As the crane collapsed, the skip it was transporting fell on the bonnet of a van that was parked between the estate and the site, according to RTE.
There have been no reports of any injuries following the incident but some people who had been working in the local area narrowly missed out on damage.
Four separate units from Meath County Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene following the incident, along with Gardai.
Two arrived from Navan, with the other two responding from Trim.
The area has since been sealed off and two telescopic cranes are being used to facilitate the removal of the one that collapsed.
‘SHAKING LIKE A LEAF’
A woman whose mum lives in the house next to the home that was damaged told RTE that the incident sounded like an explosion.
Tammy Dunne said: “There is a small furniture factory in the back garden of the house next door and the two lads had just got out of their van and went into the factory.
“The skip fell on the van and if the two lads had still been in it, they surely would have been killed.”
She added that a painter working on the houses had just taken his lunch break when the incident occurred.
She continued: “He had just taken his lunch and when he heard the noise, he ran back around into the garden.
“All the tins of paint where he had been working had been crushed. He was shaking like a leaf.”
They said in a statement: “Meath County Council is aware of an incident involving a crane that occurred at a building site at Emmet Terrace/Brews Hill.
“Meath County Council Fire and Rescue Service is at the scene. No injuries have been reported at this time.
“The council is engaging with the contractors in relation to this incident.”
