Princess Kate marks International Women’s Day with moving post to ‘resilient’ photographer who died from cancer aged 17
THE Princess of Wales has marked International Woman’s Day with a poignant tribute to photographer Liz Hatton who tragically died last year.
Kate took to Instagram to praise the brave late 17-year-old’s work and her mother’s inspiring “resilience”.

“Celebrating the strength, resilience and creativity of Liz and her mother Vicky, it was an honour meeting them both at Windsor in November,” the royal wrote.
“Liz’s memory lives on in Vicky’s unwavering resilience.
“Thank you for such a moving moment.”
Liz Hatton passed away in the early hours of this morning at her home in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, aged just 17 in November last year following a brave fight against cancer.
Hatton was pictured being hugged by Kate at Windsor Castle in October after being invited to take pictures of the Prince of Wales at an investiture.
The photograph of the pair embracing touched the hearts of many with Kate hailing the teenager for inspiring her and husband William with her strength and creativity.
The event also marked the Princess of Wales’ return to work after she had gone through her own cancer battle last year.
Kate, who dabbles in photography herself, told the nation she had cancer in March 2024 and stepped away from duties following the announcement.
Hatton’s sad passing comes less than a year after she was diagnosed with an incurable and rare form of cancer.
Her mum posted a tribute to X following her death, saying her daughter remained determined to the very end.
Vicky Robayna said: “We are so very proud of the kindness, empathy and courage she has shown in the last year.
“She was not only a phenomenal photographer, she was the best human, and the most wonderful daughter and big sister we could ever have asked for.
“No one could have fought harder for life than she did.”
Coronation Street’s steamy new storyline mirrors Ryan Giggs’ notorious affair with his brother’s wife
CORONATION Street’s steamy new storyline is reminiscent of footballer Ryan Giggs’ notorious affair with his brother’s wife.
The raunchy ITV plot will see cobbles veteran Kevin Webster’s missus cheat on him with his hunky younger brother.

The sordid fling takes place as Weatherfield mechanic Kevin, played by Michael Le Vell, 60, is currently battling testicular cancer on the soap.
But despite his health battle, Kevin’s wife Abi, played by actress Sally Carman (43), will start to enjoy secret sex sessions with his half-brother, Carl.
A Corrie source said: “It’s the ultimate betrayal, sleeping with your husband’s hunky, younger brother but Abi just can’t help herself.”
It comes after former Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs (51) famously had an eight-year affair with his brother Rhodri’s wife, Natasha, sparking a huge fallout in 2011.
The soap’s top boss Kate Brooks announced at the end of last year that they were looking for a hunky actor to take on the role of Carl Webster.
Bosses have yet to reveal who is playing the role but he has already started filming with the ITV soap.
The character has been mentioned over the years as the half-brother of both Kevin and sister Debbie, but viewers have never seen him.
The actor set to play the handsome lothario will be unveiled next week.
The source added: “Carl arrives in Weatherfield this spring and is going to turn quite a few heads.
“He’s a good looking ladies man and gets quite a lot of attention. But while he can have any woman he wants – it’s his brother’s wife Abi who he goes after.
“The pair sleep together and although Abi feels guilty she just can’t help herself.
“The chemistry between the two is off the scale and things are about to get even sexier on Britain’s most famous street.”
Fans will see Kevin struggling to come to terms with his diagnosis, pushing his wife Abi away and choosing to lean on ex-wife Sally Metcalfe, played by Sally Dynevor (61).
The sexy storyline comes after The Sun on Sunday revealed that Corrie killer Rob Donovan is to enjoy romps with a sexy prison guard in a steamy new storyline.
Former Shameless actress Rebecca Atkinson, 41, will get it on with the lag played by hunky Marc Baylis, 47.
However, the soap has undergone a series of shock exits in recent months amid a shake-up by Kate, who took the helm last April.
Soap legend Helen Worth departed the cobbles on Christmas Day after playing Gail Platt for 50 years.
Earlier this year, this newspaper also revealed that Eileen Grimshaw actress Sue Cleaver, 61, was leaving the ITV soap after 25 years.
A Coronation Street spokeswoman declined to comment.
