Four possible choices to be Rangers caretaker manager with Philippe Clement set to be sacked
ENOUGH is enough.
After battling on in his position for what feels like months now, SunSport exclusively revealed that Rangers ARE about to officially announce the sacking of Philippe Clement.

The Belgian was keen to continue fighting on but yesterday’s 2-0 defeat to St Mirren at Ibrox – the Paisley Buddies’ first win away to Gers since 1991 – appears to be the last straw.
The 50-year-old now looks set to be relieved of his duties having won just one League Cup during his tenure, as talks of a takeover in the summer by the San Francisco 49ers loom large.
A caretaker boss will be named for the midweek’s league clash with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in the meantime.
The question is, who could that be?
Alex Rae
Rae has been at Rangers as both a player and coach and holds a Uefa Pro licence.
He has also had two previous stints as a manager, once with Dundee from 2006-2008 (he started as player-manager) and again with St Mirren from December 2015 to September 2016.

But the former midfielder was sacked from both roles and has spent the majority of his coaching career as a No2.
He was often the wing man to Paul Ince, working with him at MK Dons, Notts County, Blackpool and Reading.
Rae also had a brief spell working with ex-Gers boss Alex McLeish at KRC Genk.
He was brought back to Ibrox as a first-team coach after the sacking of Michael Beale and has remained in post since.
Kevin Thomson
Recently welcomed back to the club as a youth coach after spending a few years out of coaching.
A former Gers midfielder like Rae, Thomson won two league titles under Walter Smith and later returned to Ibrox to coach the youngsters after setting up his own football academy upon retiring from playing.

He was a huge success with part-timers Kelty Hearts, winning them promotion from League Two in 2022 before taking the surprise decision to depart (incidentally he was replaced by another Ibrox hero in Barry Ferguson).
Thomson is well-respected by the Ibrox faithful but has never coached at such a high level.
He could bring fellow youth coach Steven Smith up to the senior squad with him and see the team through until the end of the season before returning to coach the development squad.
Neil McCann
McCann was spot on with his analysis of Rangers as being negative in the loss to St Mirren, the match that now looks like Clement’s last.
Could he be bring that tactical nous to the dugout at Ibrox?

McCann played for the Light Blues between 1998 and 2003 and won nine trophies.
He has only had two managerial jobs, one with Dundee from April 2017 until October 2018 and another interim spell at Inverness, taking over when John Robertson was granted compassionate leave.
McCann’s coaching career started with Dunfermline in 2012 and he was also initially a caretaker at the Dee before being given the permanent job.
He has also worked for Rangers TV as a pundit in recent times, so remains linked to the club.
Issame Charai
The Moroccan only joined Rangers at the end of January as Clement’s new No2.
He must be wondering what he’s stepped into…

Of course, there is every chance he walks with the Belgian but at the moment he is the man who is second in command at Ibrox.
Stephan Van Der Heyden has been a trusted confidante of Clement since the start and is all but certain to leave alongside him.
Charai came in after Andries Ulderink left the club and doesn’t have as much of a personal tie to Clement as Van Der Heyden does.
Moroccan-Belgian Charai is 43 and has a 13-year coaching career behind him.
Charai has had stints coaching at clubs in Saudi Arabia (including a caretaker manager spell with Al-Faisaly), Belgium and France.
In 2022, Charai was appointed manager of the Morocco under-23 national team, a position he held for two years and had that major trophy success (in which time he encountered Gers ace Hamza Igamane).
Charai’s last role before coming to Rangers was as the assistant manager at Strasbourg in Ligue 1 and he was reportedly keen on stepping into full-time management at some point in the near future.

Dancing On Ice fans hit out at judges for ‘overscoring’ celeb and say ‘are they watching something different?’
DANCING On Ice fans have hit out at the judging panel after disagreeing with them on the scores given for one couple.
Fans of the show were up in arms and quick to slam the judges for ‘overscoring’ Mollie Pearce.

Asking “are they watching something different?” after Mollie and Colin took to the ice, fans didn’t agree with the 35.5 score the pair nabbed.
For Musical Week, Mollie & Colin skated to Mamma Mia! and received three scores of 9.0.
The pair did the headbanger during their routine, which is always met with baited breath – but the pair smashed it.
Although the couple seamlessly carried out the risky headbanger, fans didn’t agree with their high score.
Ashley gave the pair 9.0, Oti followed suit with a score of 9.0, and so did Jayne who gave 9.0, while Chris gave the pair 8.5.
After he scores were given, fans rushed to social media to fume over the high scores dished out to Mollie and Colin by the judges.
Fans were disappointed with the high scores the couple received, with many quick to say how Mollie needed to skate on her own more.
One person on X said: “Overmarked I think, not much solo skating for me. Pretty sure they told her last week they wanted to see more solo skating #dancingonice.”
A second then echoed: “I love Mollie but that was overmarked #dancingonice #doi.”
“Mollie still being carried around and scores 9s! How she keeps getting through week after week beats me,” penned a third.
“9.0 for Mollie and Colin. Are they watching something different?!” asked a fourth.
While a fifth pleaded: “Ice skate on your own mollie please… the others get told why dont she…”
And a sixth added: “I agree with Chris about Mollie – there were a few jolty moments I loved the Headbanger though and Mollie & Colin are a brilliant couple.”
