Dancing On Ice fans say ‘that must have hurt’ as they accuse celeb of throwing pro ‘too hard’ before tumble

DANCING On Ice fans were quick to accuse one celebrity of throwing his pro skater ‘too hard’ before they tumbled on the rink.

Dan Edgar and Vanessa James channelled the wild wild west with a performance to Oklahoma.

As the pair skated, Vanessa took a tumble, which left viewers flinching in the comfort of their own living rooms

But despite Vanessa’s slip up, the couple still scored 37.5, with fans left taken aback.

Firstly, fans reacted to the fall on X, with one saying: “Ouch. That must of hurt.”

“Down she went! Good recovery though,” said a second.

But then viewers began to slam Dan for “throwing” Vanessa “too hard”.

One person said: “Thought he threw her too hard in rehearsal, whoops.”

“So he skated well but kinda threw his partner to the point she fell. Maybe marked too high?” asked a second.

A third then fumed: “Dan’s scores are a jokeeee, that routine has no life and he basically dropped Vanessa.”

While a fourth said: “I honestly don’t think Vanessa was at fault for that, he didn’t do the setup properly and launched her too hard, I bet that landing hurt too.”

“Don’t worry about the mistakes and the fall. You still get 9.5 Dan,” said a fifth.

While a sixth added: “Dan was chronically overmarked – that is shocking from the judges.

“The bias towards him is sickening. There was a massive fall that should’ve been reflected in the score.”

Dan and Vanessa’s score wasn’t the only one slammed by viewers on Sunday night.

Another pairing on the hit ITV skating competition was supposedly given a very high score that wasn’t deserved, according to fans.

Sarah Storey revealed she had quit on December 6, 2024. The Paralympian was partnered with Sylvain Longchambon.

Earlier on in the show, viewers were up in arms and quick to slam the judges for ‘overscoring’ The Traitors star Mollie Pearce.

Asking “are they watching something different?” after Mollie and Colin took to the ice, fans didn’t agree with the 35.5 score the pair nabbed.

Ashley gave the pair 9.0, Oti followed suit with a score of 9.0, and so did Jayne who gave 9.0, while Chris gave the pair 8.5.

Fans were disappointed with the high scores the couple received, with many quick to say how Mollie needed to skate on her own more.

One person on X said: “Overmarked I think, not much solo skating for me. Pretty sure they told her last week they wanted to see more solo skating #dancingonice.”

A second then echoed: “I love Mollie but that was overmarked #dancingonice #doi.”

Mum slammed for bizarre baby name that ‘sounds like a vacuum cleaner’ – and people refused to believe it’s real

BABY names seem to have become more and more outlandish in recent years.

However, one mum’s pick for her new son still left people shocked, with some refusing to believe it is even real.

A mum faced backlash for her unique baby name choice
Reddit

The unique name reveal was posted on a Reddit forum dedicated to bad baby names.

“Make it stop,” pleaded the original poster in the caption of the picture.

The Reddit user included a screenshot of the mum’s name announcement.

In the image, the anonymous woman can be seen holding up a custom-made door hanger.

She revealed that it had been gifted to her for her baby shower.

“It’s a blue blow, how stinking precious,” the woman captioned her post.

The giant blue bow, designed to decorate her son’s nursery, featured his name in large print.

It revealed that the woman’s son was to be called “Powers Jett”.

Reddit users shared their thoughts on the unique name choice in the comments section.

“Sounds like some sort of vacuum cleaner brand or something,” wrote one reader.

“Unfortunately there exist two siblings in a Power family out there, named Rocket and Jet,” joked another person.

“There’s no f**king way,” said a third shocked Reddit user.

“They really think they’re getting a certain type of kid,” commented another reader.

“It’s no Max Power, but it’s close!” joked one Redditor.

“POWERS JETT???? POWERS JETT??????????” asked another confused person.

Are Unique Baby Names Worth The Hassle?

YOU may think having a unique name helps you to stand out, but is it all it's cracked up to be?

Fabulous’ Deputy Editor Josie Griffiths reveals the turmoil she faced with her own name while growing up.

When I was a child, all I wanted was one of those personalised keyrings with my name on it.

But no joy, the closest I could find was Rosie, Joseph (not great for a little girl) and Joanne.

Josie is short for Josephine, which is a French name, and I managed to reach my 20s without ever meeting anyone who shared it.

When I try to introduce myself to people, I get all sorts of random things – like Tracey and Stacey – which can be pretty annoying.

Although I have come into contact with a couple of Josies over the last year – there seems to be a few of us around my age – it’s still a much rarer name than most of my friends have.

On the whole I don’t mind it, at least it’s not rude or crazily spelt.

And it means I can get away with ‘doing a Cheryl’ and just referring to myself as Josie.

I’m getting married this year and some friends are shocked that I’m changing my surname, as it’s not seen as very cool or feminist to do so these days, but I explain to them that I’m not that attached to Griffiths as I’d always just say ‘hi it’s Josie’ when ringing a mate up.

I think it’s nice to be unique and I’ll definitely try and replicate this when naming my own kids.

It’s the rude names you’ve got to watch out for, so after nine years as a lifestyle journalist I’ll definitely be avoiding those.

Another person poked fun at the name’s “special plural”.

“That’s not a human name,” pointed out one reader.

One Reddit user said the name made it sound like the baby was “conceived in a hot tub”.

Another mum revealed the backlash she has received for her son’s unique name.

One parent was warned her daughter would be “bullied for life” after giving her a strange moniker.
