BEN Cohen and Strictly star Kristina Rihanoff are still trying to sell their £1.75millon house, after revealing they had called time on their romance.
The couple shocked fans this week when they announced they were splitting, after 12 years together.
The pair met when they were partnered together on Strictly Come Dancing in 2013 – with Ben being married to wife Abby at the time.
Despite the controversy, the pair remained strong for over a decade, before revealing their marriage was in trouble last year.
They also said they were suffering from crippling debt, and put their beloved house on the market.
Their family home in Sywell was put up for sale last September.
In the estate agent’s listing, it’s been described as a “superb family home offering spacious and versatile living accommodation” on RightMove.
The couple bought their Northamptonshire home in 2016.
The luxury home boasts a huge garden, which has it’s own zipline.
The house also has it’s own gym, and comes complete with a huge kitchen for entertaining.
The former couple will now be hoping to sell the property quick, after revealing they had broken up.
Before their split the couple had been honest about their financial problems.
Kristina and Ben later went into business together, with the pro dancer also working as a dance instructor.
Kristina said the pair had “invested everything we’ve ever had” into their company Soo Yoga, after turning her passion for the exercise into a business.
However after the pandemic hit, they ran into serious trouble.
Their financial difficulties were laid bare in public during a court appearance last September, when Kristina was caught driving her £30,000 Audi without insurance.
Kristina sobbed as Ben took to the stand and admitted human error on his part meant Kristina had been driving without insurance – meaning she was facing a driving ban which would be financially devastating for her business as a dance instructor.
As Ben spoke to the court, he revealed the pair were fighting to save their 12-year relationship, admitting he was crippled with debts from their businesses, including their joint yoga venture.
Paperwork reveals that debts accrued by their companies added up to £1million.
Their Soo Yoga Group ran up debts of £488,470 and another of their fitness firms – Yoga Wellbeing Limited – had debts of £63,000.
Their business Soo Greens Limited also racked up £54,000 of debts and fitness company Beyond Wellbeing was dissolved in 2022 with debts of £22,000.
Ben also quit as a company director of struggling web firm Silicon Networks in 2020 and the company is now in liquidation with debts of £275,000, including a £98,000 tax bill owed to HMRC.
Speaking in court last year, Ben became emotional as he spoke about the realities of the financial crisis they were facing.
He said: “I get up every day and I fight not to lose everything – to lose my cars and my house and my relationship. I’m so overdrawn.”
When asked about the strain it had put on their relationship, Ben said: “We’re still living together. We’re in it financially.
“We’re in business together so the problem is that we opened the business before Covid and we got the worst severities of it and in all honestly this is just another problem for me to deal with.
“I’ve got credit cards that are overdrawn. I’m overdrawn in both accounts. We have got a business debt because of Covid. It’s just another problem.”
Following the court case, where Kristina was spared a driving ban due to “exceptional hardship”, the pair put their Northamptonshire home up for sale.
This week a pair revealed they had split and are trying to move on with their lives.
“There is only so much one couple can take,” a friend explained.
“The financial problems Kristina and Ben were facing pushed them to the brink and it has been incredibly stressful for them.
“This was what properly broke them and ended the relationship.
“But their union hasn’t always been a bed of roses because of how they got together.
“With the amount of public jibes sent in their direction, their friends have commented that they think it’s amazing their relationship lasted for as long as it did.”
The couple had met when they were partnered for the 11th series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2013, and fell in love.
This was despite Cohen being married at the time to Abby Bray.
Cohen and Rihanoff share daughter Mila, and had planned to tie the knot in Tuscany or Oxfordshire.
He told Hello! Magazine in 2023: “Over the last nine years we’ve been through the wringer.
“To support each other through difficult times in business is the ultimate test in a relationship.
“I’ve watched her flourish, from her becoming a mum to growing as a businesswoman, and it has strengthened our bond.”
The pair previously revealed they got engaged during a sun-soaked Maldives getaway in 2022.
CLARE will hope to get themselves off the ropes in Division 1A when they resume their feud with Cork in this weekend’s dress rehearsal.
Yet with the main event on the horizon, former Banner hero Colin Ryan knows that the Liam MacCarthy Cup holders must be primed for next month’s Championship rematch with the Rebels even if they are counted out in the National League.
Clare looked doomed to be relegated after starting their season with three defeats on the spin.
But thanks to last weekend’s win over Limerick, avoiding the drop is still in their own hands.
However, Ryan told SunSport: “The Munster Championship has nearly turned into a Royal Rumble and surviving that will be the big priority.
“It would be a big help to stay up in Division 1A but it won’t make or break the season either.
“When these lads get to the Munster Championship, it’s going to be dog-eat-dog and you’re going to have four absolute animals of games.
“And you’re going to have to win at least two of them.”
On Easter Sunday, Clare and Cork will begin their Munster SHC campaigns at Cusack Park in a repeat of last July’s epic All-Ireland final — a battle the Banner won 3-29 to 1-34 after extra-time.
While a feisty rivalry has developed between the teams, Brian Lohan’s men have reigned supreme as the Leesiders have failed to win in their last six meetings.
Indeed, Ennis has been a particularly unhappy hunting ground for Cork, whose last win at the venue came during a 2009 league campaign that culminated in relegation for Clare.
When the sides square off there tomorrow, the hosts are sure to be keen to extend Cork’s wait for a triumph on Clare turf at least until they return in six weeks’ time.
Ryan, who was part of that beaten team 16 years ago despite a personal tally of 0-8, said: “No doubt about it, you have to try and set your stall out.
“I’m always a firm believer in leaving a scar in somebody’s head in that kind of a situation.
“Let them be in no doubt that they’re not going to get anything easy here.
“That isn’t to say that you absolutely have to get a result on Sunday.
“But a performance that keeps everything going in the right direction would be important.
“As an example, John Conlon looked rusty against Wexford but then he was excellent against Limerick a week later.
“More minutes and another game under the belt will help everyone.
“Whether they get the result or not, it won’t be the end of the world.
“But they’ll certainly want to back up the Limerick game with another performance.”
Getting the better of their neighbours at the TUS Gaelic Grounds last Sunday lifted the mood around Clare just a few days after news of a crushing blow to their 2025 prospects broke.
As evidenced by his winning of the Hurler of the Year award, the brilliant Shane O’Donnell led their charge to All-Ireland glory last summer.
But the three-time All-Star forward has been sidelined for the season with a shoulder injury.
Ryan remarked: “It’s not like it’s setting you up to win an All-Ireland but a win like the one last weekend does give the players confidence that they can take on the likes of Limerick without a Shane O’Donnell.
“But as Brian Lohan said after the match, the players knew about that for a while so it wasn’t as if they were hit with a thunderbolt last week and that Shane was gone for the year all of a sudden.
“They kind of knew it was coming.
“With some of the talk about how much it could hurt Clare, I’m sure they’ll be thinking that it’ll be all the sweeter if they can go on and succeed this year without a player of Shane’s importance.
“But they’ll be under no illusions about how difficult that’s going to be, because he’s an extraordinary player.”
According to Ryan, who won an All-Ireland medal alongside O’Donnell in 2013, compensating for the absence of the Éire Óg star will need to be a collective effort.
He explained: “I just think it’s up to other players now to stand up and show their worth.
“He’s impossible to replace so lads will have to share the load to make up for what he does.
“Everyone else in the forwards will be looking to pick it up a small bit.
“It’s going to take all of them to make up for what you’re missing with Shane because no single player is going to replace him.
“Even just looking at the simple things, I thought Mark Rodgers took on a great leadership role against Limerick and kind of brought other players into the game, kind of like Shane does in a lot of ways.
“He was kind of a targetman inside and he caused a lot of problems.
“Things like that are going to have to happen more frequently when you’re missing a player like Shane O’Donnell.
“It’s just going to be a case of sharing the burden of Shane’s loss.
“But they’re going to knuckle down and Brian isn’t going to let them feel sorry for themselves.
“There are no excuses with Brian and nothing will get in the way.
“I’d imagine all they’ll be looking at over the next couple of weeks is Cork in Cusack Park in the first round of the Munster Championship.
“Everything at the moment is building towards that and nothing else.”

These ladies are a dab hand at gossiping, showering each other with fake ‘I love yous’ before serving up plenty of backhanded compliments. They are also in constant competition with one another.
Their toxic dynamic is so chillingly familiar to many women. But how do you know when your friendship shifts and you’re left wondering if they like you anymore?
When we live in a world full of comparison, it is hard not to become competitive.
It’s worth noting that you can have entire friendships based on competition – sporting activities, quiz nights, and gaming, for example – and there is nothing wrong with that.
The problem comes when competition bleeds into areas of life you didn’t agree to compete in: relationships, jobs, physical appearance, fitness, and even parenthood or children.
Competitiveness is also greater if you are in the same field, class, or position in life.
Ryan Bennett-Clarke, a psychotherapist at the UK Council for Psychotherapy, said it may be “more noticeable in so-called middle-class relationships because of the greater means to acquire what can appear enviable, for example – status, wealth, fitness, beauty, power, confidence, happiness”.
But does competitiveness decline as we get older?
A study in the Journal of Psychology and Aging found that it gets worse as you age, reaching a peak at 50. This rise is partly attributed to increased confidence and motivation.
It steadily drops when testosterone levels diminish in both men and women as they enter old age.
Don’t confuse competitiveness with jealousy – it is normal to feel envious from time to time.
But if you feel like you’re in “a constant fight that you want to win over and over again,” then you may not be in the healthiest friendship, clinical psychologist Andrea Bonior comments.
Competitiveness may not always be obvious; it can be masked as worry or manifest as low-level gossip, all of which can have a huge impact on your self-esteem.
Tania Reynolds, a doctoral student in FSU’s Department of Psychology, found that adult women often use gossiping techniques to tarnish another woman’s reputation and try to gain an advantage in relationships.
She explained: “People tend to give more weight to negative personal information because they consider it a truer indication of a person’s character than positive details.”
The 2018 study found a pattern that “suggests competitive females may be the primary perpetrators of bullying and harmful rumours”.
Esther Cole, a consultant clinical psychologist at Lifespan Psychology spoke about ‘Tall poppy syndrome’ – a phenomenon where people are criticised, resented, or attacked for their success. It can occur in workplaces and other social settings.
In terms of friendships, ‘tall poppy syndrome’ can happen when people around you “don’t want you to be more successful than them, and this can result in social rejection and isolation from groups”.
Competitive people can also avoid having vulnerable conversations, making a relationship feel one-sided.
Esther warned that these types of friends can collect information to stay ahead in the pecking order, or even sabotage your efforts to be successful or happy.
To know if you are in a competitive friendship dynamic, Ryan suggested asking yourself if you “come away from the group feeling diminished, inadequate, and un-celebrated”.
If you answer yes, then “you may be in the presence of the ‘smiling assassin’”.
A ‘smiling assassin’ is someone who “masks their hatred behind excessive praise and superficial adoration”, and it is arguable the most toxic friendship of all.
It is a person who smiles and says things with words that sound fine but they mask an underlying agenda.
They’re the master of the phrase “just kidding” that gets tacked onto a snarky and slighting insulting statement which they excuse as being “fun”.
You’ll be familiar with “we must catch up soon”, “it must be my turn to…”, “I promise to text you back…”
The list is endless, but the tune is always the same; they promise then “forget”.
For the benefit of doubt, they could be really scatty, or super busy and you’re a low priority, but the end result is always the same; they promise but never deliver.
These friendships always end up one-sided where you’re doing all the work to keep the relationship flowing.
Sometimes they’ll step up and surprise you with an invitation or by remembering your birthday, or some other little gesture, but before long you’re back to being the one who’s doing all the work.
If you’re happy being the organiser and one to always make contact, that’s fine.
But if you’re looking for a reciprocated friendship then you’re with the wrong person.
