Mystery as MAFS experts appear to SNUB show amid explosive reunion episode

MARRIED At First Sight’s relationship experts have sparked a huge show mystery after the reunion episode aired.

Paul Carrick Brunson, 50, Charlene Douglas, 43, and Mel Schilling, 53, are at the heart of the debate – despite the explosive aftermath of the E4 special.

Lacey Martin’s apparent showmance with Nathan Campbell was a major talking point[/caption]

The Married At First Sight alum braving the reunion included Adam Nightingale, Amy Kenyon, Holly Ditchfield, Lacey Martin, Nathan Campbell, Kieran Chapman and Kristina Goodsell.

They were joined by other series nine contestants Hannah Norburn, Orson Nurse, Sacha Jones and Sionnain Carmichael.

In addition, a number of 2023 stars were also in attendance, with the likes of Ella Morgan, Erica Roberts, Tasha Jay, Paul Liba, Matt Pilmoor and Shona Manderson.

Yet despite a slew of drama – which saw Lacey break down in tears after claims her relationship was a showmance – the panel have not yet spoken out.

At the time of writing none of the judges – who used their expert skills to match the couples together – commented publicly on social media.

Paul’s latest Instagram Story centred on his We Need To Talk podcast.

While Charlene re-posted preview clips for the series, she said nothing in the aftermath of the actual show.

Aussie Mel did take to Instagram – but posted a preview for her sort and declutter session with a professional organising service – so nothing about the matchmaking series at all.

Yet while it has been quiet from the panel, the stars themselves have not shied away from speaking out.

Many MAFS stars have taken to TikTok to clap back at Nathan after he exposed his “showmance” with Lacey.

Sacha Jones also revealed what really happened when Lacey stormed off.

Kieran also called out the series – and said he had “got my life back now.”

CALLED OUT

It came after one fan favourite bride appeared to mock the series after being snubbed from the reunion invite list.

Mafs couples that have stood the test of time

Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.

The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.

Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.

Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.

Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”

Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.

Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.

“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.

“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’

“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”

Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.

Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.

They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.

Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”

Despite the bulk of the attendees coming from the 2024 season, Emma Barnes missed out.

The Bristol lass swiftly became a fan-favourite last year as her rollercoaster relationship with Caspar played out.

Yet after being snubbed of a reunion invite, she took to Instagram to post a signature witty video.

It saw the TV show play out on a screen behind her with a cut out of Emma’s head.

The scene culminated when a cartoon voice said she was “Not flipping invited.”

Emma posted the scenes with the caption: “Heheh xx”

As well as Emma, Polly, Luke and Ross from last year’s show also missed out.

Sun Shopping tester Lisa Burns put the Ryobi One+ to the test in her home, here's her verdict...

It’s been a while since I’ve used a cordless vacuum and I’d forgotten how handy they are; it’s a dream not to tie yourself up in knots with the cable.

Ryobi claims a full charge lasts around 40 minutes on eco mode and I would vouch for that; I was amazed at how much I got done before the battery ran out.

Even in my three-pet household, the floors looked cleaner and the aged carpet looked more fluffed up.

One great thing about this cordless vacuum is it stands up on its own. Most cordless vacuums I’ve encountered don’t, and it can be a pain having to try and balance them against walls or cupboards so that they don’t fall over.

I also loved how easy it was to convert the cleaner to a handheld, as well as the power it has. It may sound a bit over the top but I almost squealed with delight at how well it sucked up dog hair from the stairs.

My only tiny gripe is the weight when you’re using handheld — the vacuum seems to get heavier the longer you use it.

Scientists Say Adding This “Brain Food” to Your Breakfast Can Keep Your Mind Sharp All Day

Keeping the brain young and healthy is a group effort. It takes mental stimulation (sudoku and daily crossword puzzles, for example), good sleep hygiene, regular physical exercise, and emotional wellness. Diet also matters—you might have heard of "brain food," a superior group of berries, fatty fish, and green, leafy vegetables known to prevent cognitive decline. And now, scientists say walnuts can also keep your mind sharp.

RELATED: These 6 Foods Can Lead to Better Brain Health—But You're Probably Not Eating Them.

A new study classifies walnuts as brain food.

Walnuts are an excellent source of magnesium, potassium, iron, calcium, sodium, and vitamin B. According to the Nutritive Value of Foods, guidelines outlined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), a quarter-cup of walnuts packs 18 grams of healthy fat, four grams of protein, and fiber.

The nut also belongs to an elite group called "brain food." A new study published in the journal Food & Function suggests that eating walnuts with breakfast can boost cognitive performance and brain activity throughout the day.

"This study helps strengthen the case for walnuts as brain food," lead researcher and University of Reading professor Claire Williams said in a statement obtained by PsyPost.

RELATED: "Super-Agers" Who Remember Everything at 80 Have These Things in Common, Research Says.

Eating walnuts with breakfast may improve all-day memory and response time.

For the study, researchers prepared two calorie-matched breakfasts for 32 healthy young adults (ages 18-30), one of which contained 50 grams of walnuts. They tracked mood ratings, memory recall performance, and blood analysis at baseline and the two-, four-, and six-hour marks post-consumption. Participants also underwent an electroencephalogram (EEG), which tests electrical activity in the brain.

The results ruled in favor of the walnut breakfast diet. By hour six, this group recorded faster reaction times and performed better on cognitive function tasks than the control group. During these exercises, the EEG test picked up higher frequencies of frontoparietal activity among the walnut eaters.

Walnuts were also associated with improvements in glucose and fatty acid levels. The only caveat to the experiment was that the control group reported better mood ratings—however, researchers chalk that up to a possible "general dislike" of walnuts (i.e. their taste and/or texture).

"A handful of walnuts with breakfast could give young adults a mental edge when they need to perform at the top of their game. It’s particularly exciting that such a simple dietary addition could make a measurable difference to cognitive performance," said Williams of the discovery.

The takeaway:

Research indicates that adding walnuts to your breakfast can keep your mind sharp all day. As for the science behind it, walnuts are known to be high in omega-3 fatty acids, protein/peptides, and flavonoids, all of which can boost cognitive function, wrote the authors.

However, more research is needed to understand the long-term brain health benefits of walnuts.

Overwatch 2 Is Primed for a Fallout Crossover but Bethesda and Blizzard Need to Say Yes

Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch 2 has had quite a troubled history since its initial launch back in October 4, 2022 for both PC and consoles.
