Explosive truth about Towie star Chloe Brockett’s departure from show as she slams producers & reveals ‘year of hell’
TOWIE star Chloe Brockett has spoken about the bust- up that led her to quit the show, saying: “It was fake – they set it up and then put the blame on me.”
The incident saw her lob a drink at Roman Hackett, him retaliate by throwing a vase’s contents in her face and then her fling glasses back at him.

Today the 24-year-old tells the Sun on Sunday how the production company’s staff “forced” her to throw the first drink and says she eventually quit in disgust.
Revealing the truth about her departure, she said: “They didn’t care about me — they just wanted ratings for their flagging show.
“Towie set me up. The producers repeatedly told me to chuck a drink at him. When it all went wrong, they turned on me as though they had not had any part of it.”
Chloe said being on the reality show led to death threats and her suffering at the hands of a stalker.
She has been through a “year of hell” since departing and resorted to posing for OnlyFans to pay the bills.
Chloe also spent last year supporting her Love Island star partner Jack Fincham, 33, through drugs, booze and gambling addictions.
Wiping away tears, she said: “It’s just been hideous. I’ve been scared to speak out for a long time. Towie treated me appallingly.
“I never wanted to throw a drink at Roman. I told the producers, ‘I don’t feel comfortable doing that’. They said, ‘It would be epic’.
“I tried to leave that day, but they talked me round. I was crying. The fake storylines we were forced to do were too much. It was clear I was in no fit state to be doing any work.”
The August 2023 scene saw her and Roman sitting in a restaurant.
His new partner then joined them and relayed what Roman had been saying behind Chloe’s back.
Chloe said: “As soon as the scene started, it was heated. Roman seemed stressed. He was really mean to me.
“I asked him to leave, but he didn’t. It was awful. Eventually I did as I’d been told, I threw a drink at him.”
Roman retaliated and “terrified” and “panic stricken” Chloe then threw glasses from the table at his body. Producers had to step in to separate the pair.
She said: “They suspended me. I take full responsibility for throwing the glasses, I feel ashamed.
“They forgot I was a person with feelings, not a character.
“They made me look like an aggressor, when I’m not. They have taken no accountability for the fact they told me to throw the first drink.
“They instigated the entire thing. They pushed and pushed me when I said I didn’t want to do it.
“That scene was strange — with no security like there normally is. In a scene like this, plastic cups are usually used. But on this one they didn’t.
“In my second series I remember arguing with Harry Lee and they suggested I smear cake on his face.
‘It was heated’
“It was paper plates, plastic glasses — a controlled environment. And it was a suggestion back then that fake storylines were discouraged. But that all changed.”
Chloe was suspended, but Roman was not.
She said: “I don’t blame him, but I do blame Towie. They put me in a dangerous situation but didn’t like the repercussions of what they told me to do, and then left me out to dry.”
The incident came months after Chloe was accused of throwing an ice bucket at someone in a row in a hotel bar.
She said: “What happened with Roman came two weeks after I’d told bosses I was unhappy with the storylines. Some of my friends think the entire thing was set up to get ratings purely off the back of me.”
Afterwards, Roman spoke out about the incidents and Towie sources have given different versions of events, claiming nobody expected the drinks to be thrown.
Chloe joined Towie in 2019 aged 18, when nearly a million viewers watched every episode.
Last year’s finale attracted just 48,000.
When she was suspended, bosses said Chloe needed anger management sessions. But as she was about to appear on Ex On The Beach, she was assessed by two psychiatrists.
She said: “They said I didn’t, and I’d just retaliated by throwing the glasses as an act of self-defence.
“When I discussed returning with Towie I made it clear there must be boundaries.
“They suggested a series off to cool down. I quit.”
All Chloe had ever wanted was to be famous. As a teen she had filler in her lips when she was 16 to look like her idols from The Kardashians and The Hills.
She said: “When I saw my first Towie episode I hated how I looked.

“The very next day I went to a clinic and had filler in my cheeks, chin and nose.
“I have had so much Botox I can’t do a sad face any more.”
Chloe had “botched” breast surgery which took her up to a size E when she had asked for a DD.
Now she is facing a corrective operation, has “massive regrets” and hates the way her boobs look.
She said: “I ended up looking a bit crazy. Mum was really unhappy.
“I tried to have some filler dissolved, but had such a bad allergic reaction that I could have died.
“My lips started swelling. Luckily I was with a doctor at a private hospital and he put me on a special drip. So whatever filler is in my face now will have to stay.”
At first she loved Towie. Despite fans thinking that the stars are rich, she says the salaries were often low.

Chloe
She said: “It was my whole life. You get paid per day, max three days a week. It started on £90, then £250 and then £400.
“They film for 22 weeks a year. That’s £22,000 a year. I was getting minimum wage to be abused.
“I got torn apart for the way I look, speak, everything. People said they wanted me dead. I was a child — just 18. It was too young to be on a show like that.
“I had a stalker. I get my hair done regularly and each time he’d ring up and ask the receptionist, ‘When does Chloe want picking up?’. It went on for ages.”
The softly spoken Chloe that sat in front of me is completely different to her Towie persona.
She admitted: “In my first episode I had an argument with someone and realised people loved it, so I carried on being like that.
“Stars like Courtney Green and Amy Childs came from money. I didn’t. Mum was a taxi driver. I needed to earn. Being bolshy, argumentative Chloe B got me more work. I grew sick of it but the head of the production company said they needed it for drama.
“Everyone thought I was really like that. But I am a nice person.”
‘People loved it’
Jack’s court case — for having a dangerously out-of-control dog — and her departure from the show have been “hell” for Chloe.
She said: “Mentally, last year, I was in a really bad place.
“I couldn’t get out of bed, no work was coming in.
“I’d have loved to do Dancing On Ice or I’m A Celeb, but I think my Chloe B act ruined that.
“I had bills to pay, rent to sort, I’d got a Porsche to fit in with the Towie image.”
She joined OnlyFans last year. Chloe admitted: “Of course it wasn’t my goal. Who sits in school and goes, ‘I know, I want to do OnlyFans’. I looked down on it.
“Now I would never judge anyone for what they do to pay the bills.
“Lingerie is absolutely as far as I go. OnlyFans saved me — I am earning a good living now.”
A Towie spokesman said: “The welfare of the cast and crew is of primary importance.
“Any concern over behaviour is immediately investigated and dealt with in line with our robust protocols.
“Safety on set is central to our production and cast members would never be instructed to do anything they disagreed with or indeed be asked to discuss any false narratives.”
