EARTH can once again start making plans for December 2032.
Nasa has announced “city-killer” asteroid YR4 is unlikely to collide with our planet that month, and has a 99.9961 per cent chance of sailing past.
The US space agency had feared the chances of deadly asteroid YR4 hitting Earth could rise past 20 per cent.
But the giant space rock, estimated to be between 40ft (12m) and 90ft (27m) wide, is now expected to collide with the Moon instead.
Nasa will continue to track asteroids that could fall into Earth’s path – five of which will make close calls today and tomorrow.
The 11ft 2025 DN6 asteroid, that Nasa describes as “car-sized”, is expected to brush past Earth at a distance of 185,000miles (298,000km).
That’s closer than the Moon is to Earth, but far enough to miss Earth and its satellites.
It will slip into Earth’s orbit before flying out past Mars’ orbital ring.
While it will zoom past our planet at a safe distance, it will be the closest space rock to fly by this week.
It will be 2025 DN6’s closest pass of Earth to date, and won’t visit again until May 2064.
When it does come back, the asteroid will pass at a much further distance of over 5,380,000miles.
Nasa is also eyeing asteroid 2025 DT1, which is slightly larger than a giraffe at 20ft.
The newly spotted space rock will pass at a safe distance of about 531,000miles (855,000km).
As asteroids go, this hunk of celestial debris is relatively small.
If it survives its journey around our Solar System, it should make another pass of Earth in May 2052.
Zooming past our planet roughly 1,560,000miles away will be the hefty 2009 DE1, which has been on Nasa’s watch list for over a decade.
The 150ft asteroid is only slightly smaller than Arc de Triomphe, the famous Parisian landmark that stands at about 160ft.
The last time it saw Earth was in February 2009, and before that, in February 1993.
It has an orbit of about 16 years, which schedules its next visit after this week for August 2043.
At a length slightly larger than a cricket pitch, asteroid 2025 DY is approximately 69ft in size.
Nasa categorises it as airplane sized – though it would be a small aircraft, and far smaller than your average commercial carrier.
This space rock’s orbit will take it within 2,260,000miles – far beyond the Moon and at a safe distance to Earth.
In Nasa’s “house-size” category is asteroid 2025 DK3, which will pass at a safe distance of 664,000miles from Earth.
Nevertheless, Nasa tracks these space rocks just in case they collide with another piece of debris that puts them on a collision course with our planet.

A MAN whose stolen credit card was used to buy a winning lotto ticket worth £400,000 has offered to split the cash with the thieves.
All Jean-David E wants in return is for the thugs to come forward and return his belongings that were stolen from his car.
Jean-David’s backpack – including his wallet and ID – had been stolen earlier this month in the French city of Toulouse.
He quickly reported the theft to his bank and blocked the card, but soon realised a contactless payment of £40 had already been made at a corner shop.
When Jean-David visited the local store called Tabac des Thermes, he was told by the owner that homeless men had used his cards to buy cigarettes and some French scratch-off lottery tickets.
The thugs soon realised that they had won a £400,000 jackpot on one of the tickets, and rushed off to claim the amount.
The cashier of the store told the Frenchman that the thieves were so happy that they forgot their cigarettes and their belongings and walked out like crazy people.
According to Jean-David, they risk arrest if they try to claim the winnings themselves.
Cops could also seize the entire amount, he added.
When it emerged that no one had come forward to claim the cash, 40-year-old Jean-David, went on national radio to offer the thieves an unusual deal.
He said: “Let’s split the money. They have nothing to fear. Unless they contact my lawyer, the ticket is unusable, so why not do 50-50?
“I’d like to tell them to contact my lawyer so we can work out a friendly agreement.
“Without me, they wouldn’t have won, but without them, I wouldn’t have bought this scratchcard.”
Pierre Debuisson, Jean-David’s lawyer, said his client had initially filed a police complaint but is not looking to press charges.
He added: “It’s an incredible story, but it’s all true.
“In these circumstances, my client is very happy that his card was stolen and he isn’t looking to prosecute.
“This is a miraculous opportunity for these two men to build a new life for themselves.”
The lawyer then a national appeal asking the suspects to contact his office and make a deal.
He added: “You risk nothing … we will share with you. And you would be able to change your lives.
“The ticket will eventually expire. Time is working against us.”
According to French lotto laws, scratchcard winners have just 30 days from the date of purchase to claim their winning amount.
For the thieves who stole Jean-David’s card and bought the tickets on February 3, the deadline is fast approaching.
La Francaise des Jeux (FDJ), the state lottery operator, said no one had yet submitted the ticket to claim the prize.
A PRO-Israel group behind the bizarre AI video shared by Donald Trump has broken its silence.
The US President posted a strange computer generated vision of Gaza’s future on Monday which featured bearded dancers, Trump hotels, and himself holding hands and grinning with a half-naked belly dancer.
Trump did not make the clip himself, instead it was posted on X on February 7 by an account named Nazi Hunters.
Nazi Hunters shared the clip in the wake of Trump’s comments about the US taking over Gaza and said: “Looks like the Gaz-A-Lago resort already dropped its first official tourism promo.”
But after Trump share the clip on Monday, Nazi Hunters responded claiming “it was a joke” and “So, it seems like Trump also saw it…” with a crying emoji.
Nazi Hunters is a pro-Israel account that has also been posting about the tragic death of the Bibas brothers at the hands of Hamas and their funeral Wednesday.
Trump posted the AI clip to his TruthSocial and pinned it to the top of his account but gave no comment of his own.
Despite Nazi Hunters claiming the video was a “joke”, the US President posting the clip gave its vision a sense of possibility.
It features scenes which Trump would like, such as a giant golden statue of himself, Trump hotels, and luxurious real estate.
Elon Musk can also be seen in the video dancing under cash falling from the sky while futuristic, Dubai-like skyscrapers rise from the manicured boulevards.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Trump sit side-by-side shirtless sipping cocktails in deckchairs by a pool of one hotel.
The two allies wear swim shorts on the loungers and, despite the clip being AI, both have their bellies hanging out.
Trump is also a teetotaller who famously loves Diet Coke.
The clip also has its own AI soundtrack with a high-tempo dance beat belting out “Trump Gaza shining bright… Trump Gaza number one.”
“Donald is coming to set you free, bringing the life for all to see, no more tunnels, no more fear, Trump Gaza is finally here.
“Trump Gaza is shining bright, a golden future, a brand new light, feast and dance, the deal is done, Trump Gaza number one.”
Israeli historian Dr Kobby Barda, who was previously the deputy director general at Israel’s tourism ministry, said Trump loved the idea of a developed, modern Gaza.
He said: “This is no coincidence—this film reflects his desire to portray himself as a kind of ruler over Gaza, bringing prosperity to its subjects.
“I have no doubt that this move is gaining strong momentum.”
Dr Barda said the AI generation was not realistic, but Trump posted it because he wanted to show off his brand of “luxurious power”, including with his hotels in the developed strip.
“That is a plan that he is willing to carry on all the way to its end.”
Trump has previously called the strip a “demolition site”, and said Gaza could be turned into a “Middle East Riviera” under US control.
He said America would be “responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site” and would “get rid of the destroyed buildings”.
But, Trump also pledged US troops wouldn’t be sent to Gaza nor would the US send money.
His plan includes relocating two million Palestinians in Gaza to neighbouring Arab countries and rebuilding the area.
“We’ll own it,” he said, adding that two million Palestinians would be relocated to countries including Egypt and Jordan.
Much of Gaza has been reduced to rubble from Israeli bombardment after Netanyahu vowed to wipe out Hamas in revenge for the terror proxy’s October 7 atrocity.
Detailed plans are yet to be revealed over the potential demolition and rebuild but Trump said it will involve a complete reconstruction.
He said they would destroy all of the buildings in the war zone before beginning to “create an economic development”.
This would create “unlimited numbers of jobs and housing”, he added.
Hamas has described Trump’s previous proposals as “ridiculous and absurd” but it is yet to respond to the new video shared by the President.
Netanyahu has shared his own detailed vision for Gaza just months before Trump unveiled controversial plans for the enclave.
Complete with surreal CGI imagery, the Israeli PM revealed a blueprint to redevelop Gaza into an idyllic urban and rural settlement.
RIO Ferdinand fired more shots at Jamie Carragher after tennis icon Boris Becker blasted the Liverpool legend.
Carragher has faced the heat after giving his reasons for why he thinks the Africa Cup of Nations is not a “major tournament“.
Carragher, 47, spoke on Sky Sports after Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Manchester City and appeared to suggest that playing at Afcon worked against Mo Salah’s chances of winning the Ballon d’Or.
The former centre-back hinted that Salah can’t win a major tournament – in his eyes, the Euros, Copa America, or the World Cup – for which Egypt are not heavily fancied.
But that opinion brought him criticism from the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Micah Richards, and Ferdinand – the latter of which Carragher called a “clown” this week.
And now three-time Wimbledon champion Becker has joined the pile-on regarding a separate issue.
Carragher had weighed in on Vincent Kompany’s tenure at Bayern Munich after the German side squeezed past Celtic in the Champions League play-offs last week, after beating the Scottish champs 3-2 on aggregate.
The pundit said: “Bayern have not convinced me at all yet.
“Now they are playing against Leverkusen, who dominated Bayern in the Bundesliga recently. It’s a 50-50 tie.
“In the end, I’m predicting Leverkusen to advance. If Kompany does not win, there will be many question marks about his appointment.

“Because the league is expected and the Champions League is the icing on the cake of a season. They have to reach at least the semi-finals.“
But Becker, a Bayern fan who has been a board member, hit back: “There haven’t been any questions regarding the appointment of Kompany!
“In fact, Bayern just said domestic title is the most important trophy this year and are happy with the work of Kompany! Jamie is NOT well informed at all.”
And Ferdinand couldn’t resist capitalising on his former rival’s woes.
The Manchester United legend simply replied to the tweet and said: “Boris… he’s having a bad couple weeks. Let him off”.
Ferdinand and Carragher’s clash has centred around the latter’s take on the Afcon, which has made huge headlines.
Carragher was pulled up live on air by Sturridge and Richards for saying: ‘I think the problem is the fact Salah is with Egypt.
“And he’s probably not playing in the major tournament as such, or maybe got a great chance of winning, I think it’s either the Champions League or the major tournament.”
Richards hit back: “Just to say, Afcon is a major tournament because a lot of people are at home saying ‘they aren’t taking it serious’. Afcon is a big tournament, just so you know.”
Ferdinand, 46, caught wind of Carragher’s statement and argued that sort of thought process is “ignorant”.
Carragher heard what Ferdinand had to say on Instagram and hit back with a fiery response on the comments’ section.
The Liverpool great branded his fellow Premier League hero a “clown” as he insisted his words were taken out of context.
Carragher responded: “I didn’t say that you clown. Stop playing to the gallery like you always do.”
Plenty of people have agreed with Carragher – including Joey Barton, who issued an impassioned video defence of his take.
Ballon d’Or winners have often tasted glory in either the Champions League or an international tournament – typically the Euros or Copa America.
No African star has won the gong since George Weah in 1995, while Sadio Mane finished second in the 2022 edition.
Meanwhile, Carragher also got on the bad side of Pep Guardiola last week.
The Manchester City boss fumed at “not nice” claims Erling Haaland ducked the club’s blockbuster Champions League second-leg because he was scared of Antonio Rudiger.
Carragher implied the Norway ace wanted to avoid Real’s fit-again centre-back Rudiger, 31.
Speaking as pundit on CBS, he said: “It’s Rudiger-itis is it? Is that what we’re saying here?”
Ahead of City’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday, Guardiola shook his head in disbelief when told of Carra’s stunning comments.
He said: “Oh, God. Did he say that? Jamie Carragher said that? Oh God. Don’t laugh. I don’t know why he makes that suspicious, you know that?
A WOMAN who travels all the time has warned there’s an item of clothing you should never wear on an aeroplane.
Mari is a travel advisor and, thanks to her job, she’s a fountain of knowledge when it comes to flying.
And in a video on her TikTok page, she explained that wearing anything synthetic could be massively dangerous if the plane has an accident.
“There’s one thing you should never ever wear on an airplane and it could save your life if you don’t wear it,” she said.
“So I know we all love Shein, Temu – all of the drop shipping entities – because they give us great cheap clothing.
“But a lot of their clothing is made of synthetic materials.
“Now you should never wear synthetic materials on an airplane, because if you’re in an instance where the airplane goes down or there’s a fire on the plane, synthetic material actually melts and will melt to your skin.”
Mari continued to warn that “even the lightest spark” will mean synthetic clothing catches on fire.
“That’s not to say that natural fibre clothing doesn’t cause burns or catch fire,” she added.
“It just means that synthetic fiber materials do cause burns at a higher rate and synthetic fibers also ignite much more quickly.”
In the caption of the video, Mari wrote: “You should never wear this one thing on an airplane.
“Seriously. It could save your life if you don’t.”
People were quick to comment on the video, with one writing: “Flight attendant here: Especially don’t wear synthetic tights.
“In case of an emergency evacuation they will melt into your skin while sliding down the slides.”
“Thank you for adding this! So important to know,” Mari replied.
“New fear unlocked,” another sighed.
“Also, no flip flops … closed toe shoes and keep them ON,” a third wrote.
“Girrrrrrrl!! You just stressed me out!” someone else said.
Shein is an online-only fast-fashion retailer, based out of China, that has become a number one shopping destination for many around the world.
The company was valued at $66billion in 2023, dwarfing that of popular high street brands Zara and H&M.
The fashion retailer was founded in late 2008, by entrepreneur and marketing specialist Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu.
Shein is a legitimate selling website and is not a phishing scam.
But you may receive a disappointing order or run into shipping issues if you order from the site, according to reviews.
There have been swathes of quality complaints, which makes sense when looking at the price tag.
To which Mari replied: “Right?? My mum’s friend works in aerospace safety and told me this.
“The way my anxiety shot up and I immediately started shopping for new clothes…”
