However, we’ve seen developer Arrowhead taking a number of thematic and gameplay elements from the Halo games and using them to craft its own unique title. One of the most obvious areas where […]

Sky customers fume over ‘very frustrating’ broadband bug affecting people’s mobiles

SKY customers have been hit by a strange bug that’s affecting how some people make and receive calls.

The firm is trying to find a solution to the problem which first emerged back in December – though it doesn’t appear to be affecting everybody.

Frustrated users have been left unable to make calls over Wi-Fi[/caption]

And it appears to be limited to the Sky Max Hub.

Wi-Fi Calling is a handy feature available on iPhone and Android, offered by most mobile networks in the UK.

It channels calls to your phone via Wi-Fi instead of a 4G or 5G cellular signal.

This is particularly helpful for those who live in poor signal areas.

But some Sky Broadband customers have noticed that the feature has mysteriously stopped working for them.

“For some reason my phone has stopped working on WiFi calling at home on my sky broadband GB service,” one user said.

“It only impacts WiFi calling at home and not on other providers WiFi when there is a bad signal.”

Another wrote: “Very very very frustrating and Sky Help is not much help for this type of problem.”

It’s thought the glitch may be due to a technical change made last year.

A Sky rep responded to affected customer’s on the company’s support forum, thanking them for their “perseverance and patience whilst we work through this technical issue”.

“Our support teams are working on a solution, and we will be updating customers connections automatically,” the rep said.

Some users have found a workaround by digging out their old router and switching it over.

APPLIANCES THAT INTERFERE WITH YOUR WI-FI

Popular home appliances and electricals can interfere with your Wi-Fi signal when placed too near to your router. These include:

  • Speakers
  • TV
  • Microwave
  • Oven
  • Christmas lights
  • Refrigerator
  • Dishwasher
  • Washing machine
  • Cordless phone
  • Kettle
  • Toaster
  • Water pipes
  • Other people’s WiFi routers

Kyle Walker’s wife Annie Kilner spotted without wedding ring at Sainsbury’s as Lauryn Goodman’s move to Italy stalls

ANNIE KILNER has been spotted popping to the shops without her wedding ring on.

Kyle Walker‘s wife, 31, headed to her local Sainsbury’s to pick up some shopping.

Annie wore a red jacket and black leggings… but not her wedding band.

This is not the first time that she’s been spotted without it, having been pictured not wearing her ring last month.

Kyle and Annie wed in 2021 and have four children together; Roman, Riaan, Reign and Rezon – born last April.

The pair’s relationship has been made complicated by Lauryn Goodman.

Walker, 34, has fathered two children with his ex-mistress Lauryn.

Annie filed for divorce from the England defender last August.

Last month, he quit English football to join AC Milan on loan from Manchester City.

Despite the strains placed on her relationship with Kyle, Annie brought the kids over to Italy to watch their dad in action on his Milan debut.

Since moving to Italy, Walker has been staying at the plush five-star Melia Milano hotel.

Located 40 minutes from Milan’s training ground and barely 10 from the San Siro, Walker’s temporary home has so far proved to be ideal.

He is only likely to go house-hunting in the Italian city should he make his loan permanent in the summer.

Lauryn, meanwhile, posed for pictures by a removals van earlier this month claiming that she’s moving to Italy to be closer to Kyle.

But sources say that she remains in the UK, with her plans having stalled.

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES

DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 - and it was an instant hit.

Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.

During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.

Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.

The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.

“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.

“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”

The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.

They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.

“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”

Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.
