Mum, 30, killed in house fire as family pay emotional tribute to ‘incredible’ person saying she ‘brought so much joy’
AN EMOTIONAL tribute has been paid to an “incredible” mum who was killed in a house fire last week.
Sylwia Burnos, 30, was found dead at a property in Coventry, West Midlands, on Saturday, February 22.
Firefighters had rushed to the semi-detached home following reports of a fire at around 2.25pm.
Inside, they discovered the body of a 30-year-old woman who has now been named mum-of-one Sylwia.
The young mum, who worked at a gym chain in Coventry, is survived by her 9-year-old daughter and has been remembered as “kind and caring”.
Her friend Jessica Wallen has launched a JustGiving page to help pay for Sylwia’s send off.
Jessica said: “It is with deep sadness that we share the sudden and tragic passing of Sylwia Burnos at the young age of 30.
“Sylwia was a beloved member of the JD Gyms family, where she worked for six years, leaving a lasting impression on both staff and members.”
“Sylwia was valued, cherished, and brought so much joy to those around her.”
She added: “She was kind and caring and always wanted to try and help others where she could.
“She was extremely generous even in times when she may not have had a lot to give and did this because she wanted to make others happy.
“We want to remember Sylwia for the incredible person she was, the moments when her happiness was contagious when she was unstoppable, and when her presence lit up the room!
“Like all of us, she had her highs and lows, but she faced them with strength and resilience.”

MAFS’ Shona hits back at trolls who branded her promise ring ‘pointless’ after reunion ‘proposal’
MARRIED At First Sight’s Shona Manderson has hit back at trolls who branded her promise ring as “pointless”.
On this week’s MAFS reunion episode, fans were treated to plenty of drama and awkward moments – which included Matt Pilmoor “proposing” to Shona.

Fans were left cringing after Matt gave a heartfelt speech to Shona during the dinner party.
After he professed his undying love he the produced a ring – much to THE shock of his fellow MAFS stars.
He said: “I can’t thank you enough. Shona, I want to show you how committed I am with this ring.”
Matt added: “So please take this as a vow that one day in the near future, you will be my wife and the most gorgeous mother of my children.”
The reality TV groom then opened the ring box and said: “It’s a promise ring.”
Some fans found this moment awkward, with comments like: “A f****g ‘promise ring’?? Grow up you f****g Neanderthal.”
Another said: “That proposal with a promise ring was so pointless!”
“All that for a promise ring” added this fan.
HITTING BACK
But Shona has hit back at the trolls and defended her promise ring.
Taking to Instagram, she shared a video and said: “Thank you for the lovely comments you’re all so supportive we appreciate you!
“The low vibes we will ignore nobody can tell me it’s pointless & I’m not semi-engaged!
“Celebrate every milestone life is for living we must enjoy the magical moments.”
Continuing, Shona said: “Matty and I are so happy where we are in our relationship and we’re in no rush.

“Promise rings are so cute.
“I would love to know who else has a promise ring and the cute story behind it! Let me know in the comments.”
MEETING ON MAFS
Shona and Matt have been going strong for over a year since their series of the E4 show in 2023 – even though they weren’t paired together.
Shona left the show because of her unhealthy relationship with Brad Skelly – whose behaviour was deemed controlling and manipulative by charity Women’s Aid.
But she found love afterwards with another star on the show – window cleaner Matt – who originally ‘married’ Adrienne Naylor.
In this week’s reunion, Shona revealed the secret to her happy relationship with Matt was that the couple have never raised their voice at each other.
MAFS The Reunion is available to stream on Channel 4.
Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.
Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.
Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.
Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’
“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”

Inside Jake O’Brien’s life beyond football from girlfriend Sophie to dealing with health condition
JAKE O’Brien bagged his first goal for Everton on Wednesday evening as he continues to make inroads at the Toffees.
That well-taken header secured a point on their visit to Brentford’s Gtech Stadium in west London.

The first half of the Cork native’s first season with the Merseysiders had looked like he’d made a real misjudgement in joining after proving himself as a weekly starter in Ligue 1 with Lyon.
But Sean Dyche’s sacking has ushered in an upturn in his fortunes as David Moyes quickly took a liking to him – even deploying the giant defender in the unfamiliar role of right-back.
Here, SunSport delves into his life away from the football pitch:
Girlfriend Sophie Lawlor:
Never mind his recent successes on the pitch, the biggest development in his life thus far in 2025 has been finding out that he’s going to become a father.
Just last week the couple revealed their big news in a heartwarming Instagram video.
It depicted Sophie reacting to the initial positive test before O’Brien entered the room and was himself shown the test.
They then share a hug before the video cuts to her at a doctor’s appointment at which she gets a sonogram.
In a further video, they’ve since revealed that their first-born will be a boy.
Dealing with diabetes
One key moment in his life and career was when he was diagnosed with type-1 diabetes at 16.
On World Diabetes Day in November 2024 he recalled how he was diagnosed with the condition around the time he underwent a growth spurt.
He explained: “I was diagnosed with type-1 diabetes when I was 16. I think there was a few weeks around March time when I was ill.
“I was losing a lot of weight, very tired. I was drinking maybe 8 or 9 litres of water a day. I realised that something wasn’t right.
“I went to the doctors and the guy sent me off to hospital and diagnosed me with it.”
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition wherein person’s cannot naturally produce insulin to regular blood sugar levels.

Type 1 diabetes can be diagnosed at any age. About one third of people diagnosed with type 1 diabetes are over 30.
As opposed to type 2 diabetes, those with type 1 are born with it, with the only form of treatment being insulin injections.
Better off now
The Republic of Ireland international added: “My pancreas, basically, doesn’t work. It doesn’t produce insulin.
“It is a genetic thing, I suppose, but in that sense nobody in my family has ever had it so I was the first one to get it.
“It is not the most positive thing but for me it was positive because when I was diagnosed with it at 16 is when things started to click for me.
“I was getting physically bigger, fitter and I think, since having it, I have progressed through the ranks quicker.”
O’Brien sought to dispel the stigma around type 1 diabetes.
He insisted: “Some people over-complicate it and think, ‘you can’t eat this or you can’t eat that’ but I can eat everything and do everything that everyone else can.
“I think it is just counting the carbohydrates in the food I eat, and based on how much I eat is how much I inject insulin into my body.
“For you it just naturally does it, your body does, but for me I have to calculate it.
“Sometimes it’s not perfect and it is time consuming, sometimes, but it’s something you get used to.”
The 23-year-old pointed to former Real Madrid utility player Nacho as a major mainstream footballer to have come forward as having type 1 diabetes.
In 2016, the Spaniard – who now plays for Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia – revealed he had been diagnosed when he was 12.
And O’Brien hopes that him coming forward will lead to other Premier League players doing the same.
Ruben Amorim brings up Marcus Rashford as he vows to talk to Alejandro Garnacho after Man Utd star stormed down tunnel
RUBEN AMORIM brought up Marcus Rashford when probed on Alejandro Garnacho storming down the Manchester United tunnel.
Garnacho was subbed off just before the break after Patrick Dorgu was given a straight red card while United were 1-0 up against Ipswich.

The Argentine winger was seen storming down the tunnel after being subbed off as boos rung around Old Trafford.
Amorim was quizzed on Garnacho’s attitude and the United manager name dropped Rashford in response.
He said:”You are making a connection with Rashford, right? I know, I know.
“What I’m saying is I’m going to talk obviously with Garnacho about that [going down the tunnel].
“So I will talk about that if you want in the next press conference.”
Rashford was sent on loan to Aston Villa in January after a falling out of favour with Amorim.
But despite also being linked with a move away, Garnacho remained at the club.
The forward posted a cryptic picture of himself looking disgruntled on Instagram as Amorim explained his tactical decision.
Man Utd ratings vs Ipswich as Maguire saves the day after Onana makes case to be WORST ever signing

MANCHESTER UNITED eased their fears of the drop in a topsy-turvy relegation six-pointer with Ipswich.
The Red Devils triumphed 3-2 despite playing the second half with ten men.
A major cock-up from Patrick Dorgu and Andre Onana saw Ipswich take a third-minute lead through Jaden Philogene.
Then, after United had recovered to lead 2-1, Dorgu saw a straight red card for a poor challenge on Omari Hutchinson.
Philogene scored again to level it before the break only for Harry Maguire to nod in to be United’s saviour.
But who was United’s best player on the night?
Here, SunSport’s Phil Thomas reveals his Manchester United player ratings…

He said: “The thinking was we were playing more in the 5-3-1 and I know that is a risk.
“I felt the team was OK in controlling of the game and then you make the substitution and you have to choose someone to come out. It was my choice.”
United held out for a 3-2 win thanks to goals from Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire after Sam Morsy’s own goal gave them the initial lead.
They remain 14th in the Premier League and now host Fulham in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday.
