THREE men have been arrested after a “drive-by-shooting” which left a nine-year-old girl fighting for her life outside a restaurant.

The girl was eating dinner with her family at the Evin Turkish restaurant in Kingsland High Street in Dalston, east London, on the evening of May 29 last year when she was seriously injured in the incident.

The Metropolitan Police said on Thursday three men – aged 36, 35 and 28 – were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday and have been released on bail pending further investigation.

Scotland Yard confirmed the girl’s family has been informed of the arrests and continue to be supported by specially trained officers.

Three other men were injured in the shooting, the force added.

Detective Chief Inspector Ben Dalloway, who is leading the investigation, said: “A little girl’s life was traumatically changed on the evening of Wednesday 29 May.

The dangerous individual responsible for those life-changing injuries remains on our streets, and people out there know who pulled the trigger.

“This investigation is not slowing down. We need to hear from those who have information about the identity of an individual seen on a motorcycle in Kingsland High Street at the time of this offence, or if anyone has seen the same model of Ducati Monster.

“We recognise people may be apprehensive about sharing information but it is imperative they do so. They do not need to speak directly to the police.

“They can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers.”

‘Mob Psycho 100’ Broke Two Classic Rules of Shonen to Become One of the Best Unconventional Anime

Shonen anime often follow a set formula of tropes—the underdog protagonists, intense battles that are won by a hair’s breadth, and romance. This is the way it has been, be it in Dragon Ball, Naruto, or Bleach. It might start off slow, but there are always hints of it. The other norm that Shonen follows […]

Teen, 19, complained of neck rashes that turned out to be worms squirming inside him

A TEENAGER visited a dermatology clinic complaining of an unsightly rash which was later found to be parasitic worms.

The 19-year-old boy worked as a beach lifeguard in southern California and had not travelled abroad recently.

Upon examination, doctors spotted two unusual snake-like rashes on his neck – one on the back and one on the side.

Both marks were red and raised but not painful, medics from West Los Angeles Medical Center, in the US, wrote in the New England Journal of Medicine.

A small skin sample called a biopsy, revealed a mild inflammation, and a fungal test returned negative.

Given the boy’s beachside job and the way the rash looked, doctors diagnosed him with cutaneous larva migrans, a parasitic skin infection caused by hookworm larvae – baby worms that haven’t yet developed into adults.

People most often catch the infection by walking barefoot on sand or soil in areas where dogs and cats have pooped.

The condition is commonly known as a creeping infection because once infected the larvae burrow under the skin’s surface and cause itchy red lines or tracks.

While typically seen in international travellers, it can also occur in warmer US regions like California, where the man resided.

The larvae typically infect the soles of a person’s feet, but in this case, the rash appeared on his neck because he spent a lot of time lying on the beach, exposed to the sand.

The rash is usually itchy, caused by the larvae squirming through the skin and triggering inflammation.

After completing a two-day course of ivermectin, a parasitic roundworm treatment, the rash cleared up quickly.

The weirdest things found inside the human body – from a fly buzzing around a man’s gut to a coconut and deodorant can

IT is not unusual for doctors to find random objects inside people's bodies.

Whether they are inhaled by accident, inserted for erotic pleasure or as a means to try and solve a health problem like constipation, doctors see it all.

Medics recently found a fully intact fly buzzing around a man’s intestines.

Meanwhile, a lady in Taiwan recently made the news because a live spider and its discarded outer shell were found inside her ear.

Spiders crawling inside the body are rare; those with arachnophobia will be pleased to hear.

While the person giving a home to a spider had little choice, others accidentally inhale objects, while some even purposely stick things up themselves.

A 2021 study found the vast majority – a whopping 88 per cent – of people attending A&E with this complaint are men.

Some of these have included applesan aubergine, a brush, penscarrots,, a deodorant can and pesticide containers.

Inhaling objects is one of the most common causes of death in children under three.

Some of the most commonly inhaled objects include coins, toys or magnets, peanuts, and even hot dogs.

In one bizarre case published in Dove Press, doctors in Africa found a leech stuck in a little girl’s throat, which was later safely removed.

A postman from Preston, England, inhaled a Playmobil road cone as a child, but it was only discovered when the 47-year-old had his lungs scanned when he presented with a persistent cough.

In another odd case, a man inhaled a pea, which was in place long enough for it to begin to sprout in his respiratory tract.

‘For some reason the manager wants us to do that’ – Bruno Fernandes explains Man Utd struggles under Amorim

United’s victory was just their fifth in 16 Premier League matches under Amorim.

Reports earlier this month suggested that some Red Devils players had questioned the Portuguese’s 3-4-3 system.

On how United stars have been getting to grips with the system change, Fernandes told TNT Sports: “Me and H (Harry Maguire) have been here for a while already, so we know we have to stick with what we’ve been training, what we’ve been trying to do, what we’re supposed to do.

“You could feel in moments it’s not working but for some reason the manager wants us to do that.

“If he wants us to do that, they (the opposition) watches us for many games and prepare themselves.

“We have a big staff, not just his ones but the ones that are already here.

“We have great people behind the team to try to work on that so if they do that in the right way, we just have to come on the pitch and show it.”

United fell behind after just four minutes last night, when Omari Hutchinson profited on an awful mix-up between Patrick Dorgu and Andre Onana to score.

The Red Devils subsequently drew level through Sam Morsy’s own goal, with Matthijs de Ligt bundling home to give them the lead on 26 minutes.

Disaster struck before half-time, with Dorgu being red carded for a high challenge and Jaden Philogene equalising.

Ten-man United rallied to secure the points, however, with Maguire heading home the winner.

After his side’s triumph, Fernandes added: “The moment is what it is. We’ve been suffering, we know that. We’ve not been at our best.

“And as H said today (it’s positive) when you’re not playing your best football and concede a goal early but still get back into the game.

“We scored from two set-pieces and were in complete control of the game, playing between the lines, finding the spaces.

“I still think we’re missing that little bit of aggressiveness going forward, when we beat the opposition between the lines and we turn we need to be more aggressive, but we’re going to get that with time.

“Players are getting more confident so hopefully in the next games, we will score more and more.”

United’s win saw them leapfrog Everton into 14th in the table.

The Red Devils will return to action on Sunday when they host Arsenal.

Man Utd ratings vs Ipswich as Maguire saves the day after Onana makes case to be WORST ever signing

MANCHESTER UNITED eased their fears of the drop in a topsy-turvy relegation six-pointer with Ipswich.

The Red Devils triumphed 3-2 despite playing the second half with ten men.

A major cock-up from Patrick Dorgu and Andre Onana saw Ipswich take a third-minute lead through Jaden Philogene.

Then, after United had recovered to lead 2-1, Dorgu saw a straight red card for a poor challenge on Omari Hutchinson.

Philogene scored again to level it before the break only for Harry Maguire to nod in to be United’s saviour.

But who was United’s best player on the night?

Here, SunSport’s Phil Thomas reveals his Manchester United player ratings…

I’m an Irish driving instructor and here’s three major signs you’ve passed the test

A DRIVING instructor has revealed the three major signs you’ve passed the test.

Learner drivers often overlook simple measures that dictate how well they do.

@Vistadrivingschool is a popular Irish driving instructor on TikTok with over 5,000 followers on the platform.

And he shared with his followers the three signs that they had passed their driving test.

Firstly, the driving instructor revealed that maintaining good control of the car is a major sign to look out for when doing your driving test.

This includes steering accurately, managing speed according to road conditions, regularly checking mirrors, braking and accelerating smoothly, positioning the car correctly on the road and responding quickly to hazards.

Losing control of your car often leads to a fail as it shows you are not comfortable on the road.

He said: “So you didn’t brake too heavily, you didn’t stall the car and you maintained good speed for your junctions and for your turns.”

Up next, the driving instructor said another major sign of passing the test is doing your maneuvers well.

Maneuvers like parallel parking, three-point turns, and reversing are common scenarios that learner drivers will encounter once they are on the road.

And doing them well can be a major sign that you passed the test, as it demonstrates your control of the vehicle, spatial awareness and understanding of road rules.

He said: “A lot of people dismiss these – they don’t practice them and they don’t think they are that important but if you’ve done your maneuvers well and to a really good standard it’s a very good sign.”

Lastly, the driving instructor told his followers that excellent observations throughout the whole test are the biggest sign that you passed your test.

Observations are crucial for passing the driving test because they demonstrate your awareness of your surroundings and ability to anticipate potential hazards.

By regularly checking mirrors, blind spots and scanning the road ahead, learner drivers show that they can make informed decisions while driving.

He added: “So if your observations are good, you have nothing to worry about.

“But if you lacked observation throughout your exam you have left yourself open for so many marks including on your junctions, your maneuvers and even on your reactions to hazards.”

Driving test tip

This comes after another TikToker shared the little-known mistake on the day of your driving test that could cost you €85.

@Next_level_driving_school on TikTok shares useful tips and tricks on their page.

Faded L-plates could give your driving instructor reason to cancel your test, and you may lose the test fee.

He said: “Probably better off not turning up to your test with the L-plate being faded like this because your test might not go ahead and it will be a waste of €85.

“So make sure your L-plates are in good condition and not faded, so the tester doesn’t have a reason not to go out on the test with you.”
