SunLifeSpot the butterfly in less than seven seconds[/caption]
Everyone can see the beautiful flowers in the picture, but there is a butterfly secretly hiding in between – can you spot it?
You must bring out your best game to crack this challenge, otherwise it will leave you pulling your hair out as you race against the clock.
It is indeed one of the toughest brainteasers ever created – and you may end up losing your mind trying to work out the picture.
But with the sharpest eyes and the strongest minds, you stand a great chance of succeeding.
Although it may seem like an ordinary image, this is no easy feat, and the average person gives up after a minute.
But you can try your luck and see if you can crack the challenge and beat these people.
And you have just seven seconds to solve it and become a winner.
So buckle up, set the timer, and test your puzzle-solving skills.
But did you know that solving optical illusions is a great way of training your brain and improving creative thinking?
How can optical illusions and brainteasers help me?
ENGAGING in activities like solving optical illusions and brainteasers can have many cognitive benefits as it can stimulate various brain regions.
Optical illusions make a little bit more sense when you learn that our eyes have very little to do with what we see and it is our brains that play the key role in creating images and trying to protect us from the potential threats around us.
Our brain is constantly trying to make sense of the world at the quickest pace it can despite the world being in 3D and the images on our retinas being in 2D.
It can be really difficult for your brain to interpret everything at once so it will often take shortcuts and give you a simplified version of what you see so you can have quicker reaction times if the object you’re looking at looks dangerous.
When you look at an object what you’re really seeing is the light that bounced off of it and entered your eye, which is converted into electrical impulses that your brain then turns into an image.
Our brains can warp straight lines if an object in the middle of them looks like it’s drawing closer as it wants to emphasize the potential threat.
Different colours and light and dark can make the same-sized objects look different or make patterned images look like they’re spinning.
Some benefits include:
Cognitive stimulation: These activities challenge the brain, promoting mental agility and flexibility.
Problem-solving skills: Regular practice enhances analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Memory improvement: These challenges often require memory recall and can contribute to better memory function.
Creativity: They encourage thinking outside the box, fostering creativity and innovative thought processes.
Focus and attention: Working on optical illusions and brainteasers requires concentration, contributing to improved focus.
Stress relief: The enjoyable nature of these puzzles can act as a form of relaxation and stress relief.
Brainteasers are purposefully designed to trick our vision and can be used as simple determiners of intelligence.
So you might want to try The Sun’s wide range of optical illusions created to stimulate the deepest parts of your brain.
The answer to our original puzzle is coming up, as well as some more challenging tasks to try.
In this mind-bending image, everyone can count the ducks but if you can find the hidden needle among the reeds in less than seven seconds, you may have 20/20 vision.
Another tricky brainteaser features a gnarled tree but only those with high IQ can spot a sleepy cat hiding on it.
Or you can have a go at figuring out the hidden message in this band’s cover art that has confused fans for years.
Lastly, puzzle fanatics have been left scratching their heads trying to find the lost feather in just 12 seconds.
Coming back to our challenge – were you able to solve the mind-bending optical illusion?
If you are still scratching your head trying to figure out the confusing picture, we’ve marked the solution for you – scroll down to find it.
Congratulations to those who solved the puzzle in under a minute.

EMMERDALE fans have ‘worked out’ a harrowing twist concerning John Sugden after spotting ‘clues’.
John – played by actor Oliver Farnworth – first arrived in the ITV soap last year.
ITVEmmerdale fans have predicted a harrowing twist for John Sugden[/caption]
Reddit/@knockout1021Viewers already think he has something to do with the mysterious body in the lake[/caption]
ITVViewers believe the body is former villager Nate Robinson[/caption]
The former soldier has met half-sister Victoria (Isabelle Hodgins) and formed a relationship with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
Fans ‘rumbled’ the body was former villager Nate Robinson, who left last year – after spotting a huge hint.
The arm of the body in the lake was wearing a bracelet identical to one that Nate’s daughter Frankie made him.
Eagle-eyed viewers are convinced John murdered Nate after seeing a very similar-looking tarpaulin used when he disposed of Anthony Fox’s (Nicholas Day) body.
Believing Aaron killed the predator, John ending up helping in covering up the crime.
It was actually Ruby, Anthony’s daughter – whom he had abused – who killed her evil father.
One wrote: “Okay anyone thinking John had something to do with Nate? That tarp wrapping has got me thinking. Might have to go back and watch to see if I can spot the connection.”
Another added: “It was John he’s not who he says he is and is a serial killer.”
The latest theory, however, suggests a tragic storyline ahead for John and Aaron’s relationship.
A viewer highlighted a “controlling” side to secretive John’s personality – sharing fears for Aaron.
One wrote on Reddit: “I thought you loved me’ was a huge red flag,”
Another commented: “that shipped sailed when he told aaron to shut up when he was venting about anthony and getting caught.”
While a third chimed in: “Manipulative, secretive, controlling, and proper creepy.”
The pair had a roadside romp after first meeting – although Aaron was unaware of John’s identity as a Sugden at the time.
Darkest soap storylines
Over the years the likes of EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street have all tried to try outdo each other with their outlandish plots in a bid to keep us tuning in each week. But here are some of the darkest that had fans in shock…
EastEnders: Tony grooming Whitney (2008-2009) – Tony King first appeared in Albert Square in 2008 as the boyfriend of Bianca, played by Patsy Palmer. But it was quickly revealed he was a paedophile who had been grooming vulnerable Whitney, Bianca’s adopted stepdaughter from a previous relationship, since she was 12. The shocking storyline attracted more than 200 complaints within a week of it beginning. Whitney waited until her 16th birthday to reveal the truth to a horrified Bianca, who called the police.
Emmerdale: Holly’s drug addiction and shock death (2010-2016) – In 2010, Holly Barton (played by Sophie Powles) became Emmerdale’s first teenage drug addict. The shocking storyline saw her taking cocaine on a night out before developing a deadly heroin habit. Parents John and Moira desperately tried to help get their daughter clean but when Holly returned in 2016, following a four-year absence, she quickly relapsed. Fans were left stunned and heartbroken when distraught Moira found Holly dead in her bed from a heroin overdose.
Hollyoaks: Luke’s rape (2000) – Actor Gary Lucy was just 17 when he took on this groundbreaking storyline, which saw his character Luke Morgan become soap’s first male rape victim. Luke had endured a long-running bullying campaign by football rival Mark Gibbs – who raped him after Luke stood up to him. Luke was left suicidal following the brutal attack, before opening up to his brother Adam. Gibbs was sentenced to eight years in prison. Gary won the Best Actor gong at the British Soap Awards in 2000 for his performance.
Coronation Street: Evil Richard Hillman (2001-2003) – Just a mere mention of ‘Richard Hillman’ is enough to send a shiver down the spines of soap fans. He is often ranked one of the most evil soap villains and it’s not hard to see why. The smooth-talking financial adviser bashed his ex-wife Patricia over the head with a shovel. In a bid to keep his mother-in-law Audrey quiet, he set fire to her house. And when Maxine caught him trying to murder Emily Bishop, he took a crowbar to her head. He made his exit from the cobbles in 2003 when he drove Gail Platt, played by Helen Worth, and her family into the canal. They survived, but he didn’t.
Aaron tried to get to know John better but he didn’t want to answer any questions.
When Aaron went outside to use a tree for a toilet, John drove off and left him by the side of the road without his keys or wallet.
Could John’s nastier side soon make a return?
Emmerdale continues on ITV1 and ITVX.

The brave star – who is now an Olivier Award winning theatre star – has said she struggled with her weight throughout her teens and twenties.
She revealed at her heaviest she was 24 stone.
Mikayla eventually shed nine stone, but it came at a price of getting caught in a cycle of binge-eating.
The star-studded feature – which is helmed by writer and filmmaker Lynn Crilly – is a powerful story set to “provide a voice” to those struggling with eating disorders.
Mikayla said: “I’ve got a very challenging relationship with food.
“It dominates my thoughts most of my waking hours and somebody in my family close to me, also has struggled with anorexia nervosa.
“It doesn’t leave people either, it’s a difficult one.
“Getting people when they’re younger and seeing the difference makes that really improves the trajectory to a normal, healthy life and experience with food.”
Continuing the former Hollyoaks star said: “Nobody knows what’s going on behind somebody’s eyes and just appreciating that we’re all having our own struggles in our own way is important.
“What we need is a little bit more humility and a little bit more positivity towards each other.
“There’s not just one way to fix someone.
“One way will work for one person and what’s key is getting the right therapist, the right help and the right network around you. One size doesn’t fit all.’
In 2007, Mikyla released her memoir The Fat Girl From Hollyoaks where she talked about her battle with weight loss.

Since then she has been very honest about the journey she has gone on over the years.
A Day With An Eating Disorder, which is being released later this year, aims to reduce the stigma surrounding anorexia nervosa, bulimia and compulsive exercising.
The film is being supported by SANE, and comes 20 years after filmmaker Lynn’s daughter Samantha was diagnosed with an eating disorder and OCD.
Other stars who will feature includes actor Paul Cooper, dad ofDaisy-May Cooper, and comedian Bobby Davro, to name a few.
How to get help for an eating disorder
AN eating disorder is a mental health condition and there are several different types.
They involve using the control of food to cope with feelings and other situations.
The most common eating disorders are:
Anorexia nervosa (trying to control your weight by not eating enough food, exercising too much, or doing both)
Bulimia (losing control over how much you eat and then taking drastic action to not put on weight)
Binge eating disorder (eating large portions of food until you feel uncomfortably full)
If you think you have an eating disorder, you should see a doctor as soon as possible.
