Police received reports of a pedestrian walking along the A71 in Irvine, Ayrshire last night at around 6:45pm.

However by the time cops arrived the 49-year-old man had been hit by a silver Audi A1 and despite desperate efforts to save him by the side of the road, he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say his family have been made aware.

I think I look exactly like Victoria Beckham but trolls tell me to get my eyes checked – I think we’re carbon copies

A BEAUTY buff has been advised to best get her eyes checked after insisting she’s a real-life Victoria Beckham lookalike.

No one does it like mum-of-four Posh – striking brown eyes and that iconic signature bob we all love.

Sadly for the woman, social media users struggled to spot any resemblance[/caption]

But now woman has insisted she looks exactly like the 50-year-old fashion designer and former singer – and it’s safe to say, the bold claim hasn’t necessarily gone down too well on TikTok.

The brunette stunner, only known as @hotdog4bobdylan on the platform, took to social media to share a couple of selfies wearing similar outfits to Victoria.

”Guys, be honest – am I delusional or do I look like VB [Victoria Beckham]?” said the young woman, who had side-to-side snaps of the WAG for comparison.

Similarly to Victoria, she sports a chic brunette bob, thinner eyebrows and has stunning brown eyes – which, in her opinion, is enough to be a ”carbon copy” of the multi-millionaire‘s face.

The young woman added in the caption of the video: ”Got ‘Posh Spice’ on the back of my year 11 leavers hoodie.”

Sadly for the natural beauty, the clip didn’t quite go to plan, as over 1,300 flooded to comments to break the unfortunate news – in their eyes, she looked nothing like the celebrity.

”Delusion 4real,” read the top comment of the clip, which has racked up close to 55k views in just one day.

Someone else chimed in, writing: ”Ur just wearing similar clothing. Girl u don’t look alike. Hope this helps.”

”Victoria Beckham Temu Edition,” another joked.

A fourth commented: ”Okay you don’t seem to be accepting it so here goes: you have thinner lips, a more bulbous less upturned nose & smaller eyes.

”The resemblance is not there. Ye just have the same colouring.”

Hitting back at the ”haters”, the TikToker, who was advised to get her eyes checked, said: ”I hope your eyesight heals.

”It’s scary to see how many people have terrible perception.”

Ed Sheeran lookalike

Previously, an Ed Sheeran lookalike claimed crowds of fans mob him at concerts and beg for selfies every day.

Wes Byrne, 30, said so many Ed lovers swarmed around him at the Shape of You singer’s gig in Manchester that he had to be rescued by security.

He even had hordes of fans asking him for selfies as he made his way to the loo.

Among those asking for pictures were former Love Islanders Callum Jones and Molly Smith, the Daily Mirror reported.

Guards stepped in after the throng surrounding the doppleganger was feared to be creating a fire risk.

Instead he was moved from his £82.50 seat to a VIP zone, where tickets sell for more than £1,000.

Wes, whose favourite Sheeran tune is You Need Me, I Don’t Need You, said: “Nearly everyone knew I was a lookalike, although a few kids thought I was the real Ed.

“About 15 minutes before Ed came on stage, the queue for selfies with me was all the way down a line of steps and out an exit, so security told us to go with them to some executive seats.

“We weren’t complaining – it was a much better view.”

Thousands of families have just HOURS left to apply for free cash worth up to £200 as scheme closes tomorrow

THOUSANDS of families have just hours left to apply for free cash worth up to £200 as scheme closes tomorrow.

Cash-strapped households can get access to money through the Household Support Fund (HSF).

a wallet full of british money including 5 10 and 20 pounds
You can apply for the support via the councils website

The aid was set up in 2021 and has since been extended by the UK government several times.

How much you are eligible for is usually based on what benefits you already receive and your financial circumstances.

The pot of cash is handed out by local councils and it varies from area to area.

Struggling households in East Riding can get financial help worth £200.

To be eligible for the payment, applicants must be an East Riding resident and not have received financial support from the Household Support Fund in 2024/25.

Residents must also be receiving housing benefit, housing element of universal credit, or council tax support.

You must have been receiving a means tested benefit for at least three continuous months, not be in employment, and als have less than £1000 in savings.

But the deadline for the support closes on Friday, February 28, meaning there are just hours to go before applications close.

If you are keen to apply you can visit the council website which is, www.eastriding.gov.uk

Alternatively you can call the council on 01482 393939.

If you are successful you can expect your payment in 20 days of making the application.

If you think you could be eligible but do not think you meet the criteria, it may be worth getting in touch with the council directly to see if they can help.

Even if you don’t live in East Riding your local council may also offer some support.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIVE IN EAST RIDING?

Plenty of councils are still offering support to struggling families.

For example hard-up households in Calderdale have until tomorrow to apply for support worth £100.

You may be eligible if you receive council tax reduction based upon your income.

How much you get depends on certain factors such as if you live with children or have a disability.

For example, households with children will get £100 and so will households living with a known disability.

Meanwhile, single and couples with no children or disability will receive £50.

For households with children and a known disability, only one payment of £100 can be awarded.

Struggling households in Doncaster can also get financial help worth up to £225.

To be eligible, you must be claiming housing benefit, local council tax reduction,Universal Credit which includes the housing element, or means-tested free school meals.

If you apply for the support you will need to share information such as name, address, date of birth and National Insurance number and bank account details.

Household Support Fund explained

Sun Savers Editor Lana Clements explains what you need to know about the Household Support Fund.

If you’re battling to afford energy and water bills, food or other essential items and services, the Household Support Fund can act as a vital lifeline.

The financial support is a little-known way for struggling families to get extra help with the cost of living.

Every council in England has been given a share of £421million cash by the government to distribute to local low income households.

Each local authority chooses how to pass on the support. Some offer vouchers whereas others give direct cash payments.

In many instances, the value of support is worth hundreds of pounds to individual families.

Just as the support varies between councils, so does the criteria for qualifying.

Many councils offer the help to households on selected benefits or they may base help on the level of household income.

The key is to get in touch with your local authority to see exactly what support is on offer.

And don’t delay, the scheme has been extended until April 2025 but your council may dish out their share of the Household Support Fund before this date.

Once the cash is gone, you may find they cannot provide any extra help so it’s crucial you apply as soon as possible.

‘This is wrong in so many ways’ people say as mum shows the unique designer way she teaches her daughter the alphabet

A MUM has sparked controversy after sharing the unique way she’s teaching her three-year-old daughter the alphabet.

Casey-Jean took to TikTok to share a video of herself and her little girl reading a book together.

And while alphabet books traditionally have explanations like “C is for Cat” and “D is for Dog”, this one was very different.

As in a bid to ensure her daughter is a love of all things designer like she is, Casey-Jean has managed to pick up an alphabet book which uses designer brands for the letters instead.

The clip showed her little girl reading out “C is for Chanel” and “D is for Dior”.

While “E is for Études” was a bit tricky, the tot had no trouble remembering that “F is for Fendi” and “G is for Gucci”.

The book continued with “H is for Hermès”, “I is for Issey Mikake”, “J is for Jacquemus”, “K is for Kenzo” and “L is for Louis Vuitton”.

“Teaching her early!” Casey-Jean, who has turned her love of vintage designer fashion and accessories into her own business Jean Vintage, captioned the video.

But there were lots of comments from people unimpressed with the mum’s method of teaching the letters to her little girl.

“This is wrong in so many ways,” one huffed.

“Finally a comment I agree with,” another said.

“Disgusting and embarrassing. Idolising the rich,” a third raged.

“I don’t know. Kinda feels like you’re indoctrinating your daughter into consumerism and capitalism which are destroying and exploiting countless lives outside the western counties,” someone else said.

“I completely agree with you – training children to be materialistic and image focused which causes numerous emotional mental problems long term,” another wrote.

To which Casey-Jean, who seemed entirely unperturbed by the criticism, retorted: “She will be well educated in all aspects of life including her designer handbag collection.”

“Nah don’t agree with this one,” someone else insisted.

However, for all those that disagreed with Casey-Jean’s methods of teaching her daughter phonics, there were those who loved it – and were desperate to find out where she got the book from.

“As a teacher I must say that this is actually bringing so much to the child when it comes to linguistic consciousness,” one wrote.

Spotting Fake Designer Goods

SPOTTING the real deal from a knock off is harder than ever.

These days fake clothes, bags and jewellery are almost identical to the real thing making it harder to spot the difference.
Here, Clemmie Fieldsend gives you tips on how to spot if your buys are counterfeit or legit.

Bags:

  • Real designer bags do not come with authenticity cards
  • Tags should not be attached to the bag, these usually come with the receipt or are tucked into the packaging
  • Designer bags usually have a serial number
  • The bag should look and feel high-quality. Check for even stitching, tidy material, no frayed edges and clear colour matching

Watches:

  • A genuine high end watch will feel heavy due to high quality materials
  • The second hand movement on the watch should not be rigid
  • The model name and serial number on a fake may be used across all of their pieces rather than individual ones
  • Check for the official branding and compare with a genuine model if you can
  • The fine details won’t be as refined, including placement and spacing etc

Sunglasses:

  • The lenses on designer shades should be of superior quality. Know what you’re buying. Classic Ray-Ban designs, for instance, are made from glass.
  • Fake frames feel lighter than real ones
  • Watch out for stiff or loose hinges

“The mum has already explained that she’s in the resale industry of luxury goods and she’s with her daughter at work each week,” another added.

“Also the kid has taken an interest to her mummy’s job.”

“The fact she pronounces Hermès better than some of you can at her young age is hilarious,” another added.

“The comment section DEFINITELY DID NOT PASS THE VIBE CHECK at all,” a third insisted.

“This is extremely admirable.

“I don’t know what’s y’alls problem on here!”

“The only alphabet book that’ll be allowed in my house!” someone else joked.

Iconic restaurant dubbed a ‘magnet for celebs’ to shut in just HOURS after losing its Michelin star

AN ICONIC restaurant dubbed a “magnet for celebs” is set to shut in just hours after losing its Michelin star.

After 24 years, the original Hakkasan on Hanway Place in London will “bid farewell with its final service” tomorrow.

Both the original Hakkasan and Michelin-starred The Five Fields are closing this week..

It was the first Chinese restaurant to receive a Michelin star in the UK guide in 2003 and retained it for 19 years.

Many celebrity guests have dined in Hakkasan restaurants such as Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, and Naomi Campbell.

It upholds a strict dress code instructing “no hoods worn up, casual sportswear of any style or brand, tracksuits, running shorts, running trainers, hats or flip flops.”

The Hanway Place restaurant, opened by Alan Yau in 2001, seats over 200 people.

Conceived by Christian Liaigre, Hakkasan Hanway Place follows a “unique design philosophy” shared with other Hakkasan restaurants around the world.

It boasts a “dramatic” design more akin to a nightclub than a traditional restaurant.

With dim lighting and dining areas separated by dark wood screens.

Guests are invited to enjoy a “modern Cantonese cuisine” and can choose from a variety of signature dishes.

Each of which made by a “talented chef” and created exclusively for each restaurant location.

But despite such a flair for opulence, both Hakkasan Hanway Place and Hakkasan Mayfair lost their Michelin stars in the 2024 Michelin Guide.

Following the loss, a Hakkasan spokesperson revealed news of Hanway Place’s shock closure.

They said: “After 24 years of culinary excellence and unparalleled service, the original Hakkasan on Hanway Place will bid farewell with its final service on Friday, February 28th.

“Fortunately, our cherished guests can continue to savour signature dishes — such as our iconic Peking Duck with Caviar — at eleven locations worldwide, including our flagship Mayfair London restaurant near Berkeley Square.”

Hakkasan Mayfair will become the last UK franchise.

However, other branches can be found in cities such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Shanghai and Las Vegas.

Tate bros jet to Florida after cutting deal with Trump to FLEE Romania for sanctuary in US – as Brit victims speak out

TOXIC influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have flown to the US after Donald Trump’s aides cut a deal to end their Romanian travel ban.

The pariah pair – who are facing sex trafficking allegations – supported Trump during last year’s presidential campaign.

Sources in Romanian capital Bucharest told The Sun today that the Tate’s travel restrictions have now officially been lifted after intensive US lobbying.

Close Trump aide Kash Patel – the new director of the FBI – was said to have played a key role in the talks.

Self-confessed sexist Andrew, 38, and Tristan, 36, left their home in Romania at the first opportunity after boarding a Gulfstream G550 private jet bound for Fort Lauderdale, Florida at 5.30am.

A source in Bucharest told The Sun: “They’ve been allowed to leave on the condition that they come back for court hearings and cooperate with the investigation.

“But legal experts here seem to think the case against them is flawed and they are confident the charges will be dropped.

“Their departure was delayed because the court’s decision to release them from house arrest had not been entered into the computer at the airport.

“But their flight took off at 5.30am and they’re on their way.”

Trump officials are reported to have asked for a strict travel ban on the brothers – who are joint UK and US citizens – to be lifted, despite ongoing investigations.

Four British women who have accused Andrew of rape and human trafficking have voiced their serious concerns over the news.

They told MailOnline: “We are in disbelief and feel retraumatised by the news that the Romanian authorities have given into pressure from the Trump administration to allow Andrew Tate to travel around Europe and to the US.

“We can only hope that the British authorities finally take action and do something about this terrifying unfolding situation to ensure he faces justice in the UK.”

An image began circulating on social media early today showing Tristan waving as he boarded the jet with a flight number N5430G.

It is still unclear if the picture is from today.

Romanian special prosecutor’s service, Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), who have been leading investigations against the Tates released a statement earlier today.

They made it clear both are still under investigation with the case not dropped.

The brothers will also have to return to Bucharest later this year to adhere to the terms of their “judicial control” status, DIICOT added.

Their next court hearing is scheduled for March, according to local media.

Both brothers were arrested in Romania three years ago after moving from the UK and still face a number of serious charges including rape, trafficking minors and money laundering.

They deny all of the allegations.

In December, British cops were allowed to seize more than £2 million from the pair after they failed to pay any tax on £21million in revenue from their online businesses.

The money is now held in seven frozen bank accounts and British police are seeking their extradition to the UK.

Andrew said at the time: “This isn’t justice, it’s a co-ordinated attack on those who challenge the system.”

Footage in August showed armed cops storming their Romanian home through the roof after new allegations of trafficking and sex with a minor.

Andrew moved to Romania years ago after first starting a webcam business in the UK and luring millions of online followers with offensive and misogynistic “lifestyle advice.”

UK MPs have warned he has “brainwashed” young men and boys and encouraged violence against women.

Andrew briefly appeared on Big Brother but was dumped from the reality show after alleged footage of him beating a woman emerged online.

Andrew then built up an image that appealed to teenage boys – creating an online empire that made him one of the most searched people on Google.
