Luke Littler becomes new Premier League record holder after pulling off incredible feat

DESPITE missing out on a second nightly win in the Premier League, Luke Littler left Exeter with yet another record to his name.

The 18-year-old sensation narrowly lost 6-4 in Thursday night’s final to world number one Luke Humphries.

Littler beat both Stephen Bunting and Nathan Aspinall en route to the final, sweeping his competitors aside with relative ease.

And it was his quarter-final matchup with Bunting that saw Littler performing at his highest level, setting a new record in the process.

Littler hit a phenomenal TEN 180s against Bunting, marking a new record for the most maximums ever registered by a single player in the current Premier League format.

Bunting wasn’t giving up either as he hit six 180s himself, taking their combined total for the match to 16 during Littler’s 6-3 win.

That in itself is another record with the pair’s return the highest combined maximums in a Premier League match.

Littler was on fire as he advanced to the semi-final too, putting up a sensational 109.67 average during his 6-2 win over Aspinall.

The teenager had done well to calm his emotions and perform to such a high level following an incident during his walk-on at the start of the night.

Littler flared up at a fan who appeared to push his mum Lisa out of the way as she was trying to give her son a hug from the VIP section.

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS

Now the world champion has his eyes on the UK Open this weekend in Minehead.

Taking to X, Littler wrote: “Happy with how I played across my games tonight and good to get more premier league points after making the final.

“Ready for the UK Open”.

The event, which has been likened to darts‘ version of the FA Cup, throws up a tasty £110,000 prize for the winner.

Littler was knocked out in the quarter-final by Aussie Damon Heta last year and will be hoping to go all the way this time round.

As one of the top 32 seeded players in the world, Littler will enter the competition in the fourth round.

Inside Littler's massive rise

LUKE LITTLER has taken the darts world by storm since exploding onto the scene at the PDC World Championship at the beginning of the year.

The Nuke reached the final on his Ally Pally debut at just 16 years of age – smashing records along the way.

He has then gone on to win a host of PDC events and the Premier League title – which he claimed at the O2 Arena by beating world champion Luke Humphries in May.

He also finished his first season in the World Series as the No1 ranked player.

He has joined Jude Bellingham on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list.

And the teenage titan even had to snub an invite from the WWE.

The Sun exclusively revealed that Littler is plotting to create a fitness empire.

He is also cashing in away from the Oche thanks to an Instagram side hustle.

And he’s even the face of a brand new cereal.

But he is newly single after splitting from girlfriend Eloise Milburn following a 10-month relationship.

Check out all of our latest Luke Littler stories.

TRIBUTES have been paid to a woman who was found dead on a ferry as she took her father-in-law’s body home to Ireland.

Mary Cash’s body was discovered in the bathroom of the Stena Nordica as it made its way into Rosslare Europort in Wexford on Tuesday – sparking a mass brawl onboard.

The ship’s captain made an emergency call for assistance as the ferry approached the port and Mary was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cops questioned a 40-year-old man but it is now believed Mary, 39 – who lived in Harrow, north London – had taken her own life.

It’s understood she was travelling on the ferry with her husband Ned and other members of her family for the funeral of Martin Cash in Co Kildare.

He had died at his home, also in north London, earlier this month – and it was his wish to be buried in his homeland.

A service was held at St Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Edgeware the day before the ferry crossing.

A notice posted by Ned Cash on Facebook said: “Anyone that is following him back to ireland are to be at his yard Tuesday 6.30am.”

A relative said in a tribute posted on social media: “RIP Uncle Ned’s Mary, may God be good to you and give you the best bed in Heaven.

“Can’t believe it, my heart broke – please keep my Uncle Ned and children, her Mummy and Daddy all family in your prayers.”

Another said: “Can’t believe I even writing this, rip Uncle Ned’s wife Mary left shock this is so cruel world just don’t seem real please keep my uncle Ned an he’s children in ur prayers.”

A garda spokesperson said previously: “Gardaí in Wexford continue to investigate all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman on board a passenger ferry en route to Rosslare, Co. Wexford on the evening of Tuesday, 25th February 2025.

“A post mortem examination on the deceased woman has been completed, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons.

“The male arrested in connection with the investigation has been released from detention without charge.

“A Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) continues to engage with and support the family of the deceased.

“A Garda Senior Investigating Officer, will now supervise the completion of an investigation for the purpose of a file to assist a Coroner’s Inquest.

“As previously highlighted, An Garda Síochána is not investigating any other separate alleged Public Order Incidents on board this ferry sailing.”

I’m a hair stylist & skipping a step is leaving you exposed to breakage – make your locks healthier by adding it in

YOU might think avoiding using heat on your hair at all costs is the key to luscious locks — but one hair whizz swears the opposite is true.

Savana Brandt took to social media to explain why she never lets her stunning blonde tresses air dry, and it makes a lot of sense.

Savana took to Instagram to explain why drying your hair is key[/caption]

Posting on Instagram, Savana explained that taking the time to make sure your hair is fully dry is a total game changer.

“You will notice your hair feeling and looking 10,000% more healthy, than if you just go to bed with it wet in a braid, bun etc,” she captioned the viral clip.

The hairdresser also noted that her own clients are shocked when she tells them the little-known hack.

So, why is drying your wet hair a must?

Celebrity hairstylist Cim Mahony, told Vogue that air-drying isn’t always the healthier choice.

She said: “Gently blow drying with the right hairdryer on the lowest heat and speed setting until it is 90 per cent dry is better for the hair than air-drying.”

Apparently, your locks can absorb almost half of their weight in water, which causes your strands to weaken, so getting it dry is an important step in any washing routine.

A  study at Yonsei University in Korea, even compared air drying with heat drying, and researchers discovered hair was damaged when dried only because it had been wet for too long.

The study also found that drying your hair with the desired technique is better for the health of your locks.

Sleeping with wet hair could lead to even more damage, since your already fragile hair faces friction with your pillowcases.

Savana noted that this doesn’t mean you should blow dry your hair every day, though.

“You should only realistically be washing your hair up to a couple times a week and blow drying,” the hair pro added.

Using a heat protection spray could also be a good step to further protect your hair from potential heat damage.

Savana’s video quickly went viral and currently has over 22 million views, with many hair fans shocked to hear the news.

HOW TO ACHIEVE HEALTHY HAIR

Drying your hair on a low heat could be the key to a healthy mane[/caption]

Another hair whizz previously took to Reddit to share some must-know tips and tricks for growing long and healthy hair.

There is no product or ingredient out there that can beat taking care of yourself, she said.

She advised those looking to boost their hair growth to follow her “general good health cocktail” recommendations.

“Drinking plenty of water, fulfilling ALL your nutrient needs, getting your heart pumping, keeping a very good posture, sleeping well, good breathing, and etc.,” she said.

Once your health foundation is built and strong, then a bit of maintenance can go a long way.

A trick, she revealed, is the impact of some light exfoliation.

She explained you need to be “keeping your hair under control.”

“A mix of cleaning and light exfoliation while making sure your hair oils are keeping your scalp nice and happy and not irritated,” she said.

To increase the blood flow and promote growth, she shared a free and easy tip that can be done every day.

“Massage or any kind of stimulation,” she said, “but there isn’t much muscle around your scalp, so massage is where you go.

“On that note, work your muscles around the head.”

Studies have shown that scalp massages can increase hair thickness, as well as lower stress hormones and blood pressure.

Massages can be done in the shower, with the help of shampoo or conditioner on wet hair.

Users must apply moderate pressure to the scalp with their fingers in a circular motion.

Another option is to use a scalp massage tool or brush, which can help stimulate blood flow, lather products, and loosen flaky skin.

Massages can be made therapeutic with the addition of essential oils, like peppermint.

While the original poster didn’t believe that you can make hair grow faster than it naturally does, she emphasized that factors to have hair grow at optimal speeds are within your control.

What are the biggest hair care mistakes?

Anabel Kingsley, Consultant Trichologist and Brand President at Philip Kingsley spoke exclusively to Fabulous.

Not looking after your scalp

Your scalp is an extension of the skin on your forehead and it should be given similar attention and care to the skin on your face. Scalp health is vital to healthy hair growth. Your scalp is your hair’s support system, and a flaky or inflamed scalp can contribute to hair loss and also impact the quality of hairs as they emerge from the follicle. Do cleanse and tone your scalp frequently. Try to leave no more than 2 days between shampoos.

High heat styling

The most common cause of hair damage is high heat styling – either with a blow dryer or straighteners. While it may take a little longer, a low to medium heat setting will give you great styling results, but without dryness, breakage and split ends. You should also always use a heat protective product such as our Daily Damage Defence and don’t hold your dryer right next to your strands.

Not eating well

Even if you’re using the best products in the world, if you aren’t eating well your hair’s condition and rate of growth won’t be at its optimal. Hair is a dispensable tissue as it isn’t needed for physical survival. This means nutrients are first used to keep essential cells functioning, with hair receiving them last.
