I was on the verge of tears says The Finish Line’s Roman Kemp as he reveals on set struggle saw him sob on phone to dad
ROMANKemp has opened up about what it’s like being a quiz host, admitting he was close to tears at one point because it’s ‘so hard’.
Roman, 32, has hosted The Finish Line on the BBC for two series alongside sidekick Sarah Greene.

The hugely popular BBC game show has become a fan favourite, with contestants racing in moving podiums across the studio floor as they aim to be the first one to the finish line and to get their hands on £5,000.
Roman set to front the popular show yet again as a third series returns, but he has admitted the first time he hosted the show was not as smooth sailing as he expected.
He exclusively told The Sun’s TV Mag: “I remember the first time I ever did this, I got on the phone to my parents almost in tears going: ‘I can’t do this, it’s so hard.’ And every time we do it, it’s still difficult.“
“So you look at people like Bradley Walsh [who has hosted The Chase since 2009] and you think: ‘Wow, what an incredible feat you’ve been able to do.’
“And I was watching Romesh do it on The Weakest Link, and that ability to move from question to question to question is hard.
“I guess as a host, your job is to make it look easy. But I’m here to say that it’s hard, man, it’s really hard!”
He added: “Hats off to all of the quiz hosts out there!”
Roman also explained how things are so intense when filming, contestants often don’t recognise him out of the studio.
Sharing a funny encounter, the host said: “A young lad won five grand and there’s a little Nando’s literally ten minutes away from the BBC studios in Belfast where we shoot it, I’ve gone in there after the show and I’ve seen the bloke that’s won.
“I’m in my civvies, I ain’t got the suit on anymore and no make up and I go: ‘Well done!’ No joke, considering he’d just done the whole show, he looked at me and goes: ‘Do I know you?’
“It’s the worst thing for anyone in the limelight. You don’t want to say: ‘Mate, I’ve literally just spent three hours with you and given you five grand!’ It goes to show it’s such a head mess in there because it’s so intense.”
Roman, who is the youngest child of Spandau Ballet’s Martin and Wham! singer Shirlie Holliman, stepped down from his job as Capital Breakfast presenter in March last year after a decade with the station and has featured in more TV roles ever since.
As well as appearing on The One Show, Roman has fronted The Finish Line for two seasons, with the first one launching in 2023 on BBC One, directly rivalling Tipping Point on ITV1.
The Finish Line will return to screens on Monday, March 10 from 4:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
You're Not Alone
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide
It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.
Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You’re Not Alone.
If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:

Speaking about the new series, Roman said: “I’m absolutely buzzing that The Finish Line is back for another series!
“There are some seriously tense moments, and when the pressure’s on, you never know what’s going to happen!
“Sarah and I had a blast filming, and I can’t wait for everyone to see all the excitement, drama, and surprises this series has in store.

The Finish Line returns on Monday, March 10 from 4:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
How to lose weight on the ‘air fryer diet’ – with budget meals under £2 and 400 calories that are ready in minutes
MORE than half of UK households now own an air fryer.
They are the third-most used appliance in British kitchens, after toasters and microwaves.

But are you getting the most out of yours?
Experts say they can save you time, money and serious calories – ideal if you’re trying to lose weight.
Nichola Ludlam-Raine, registered dietitian and author of How Not to Eat Ultra-Processed (£12.68 on Amazon), tells Sun Health: “Healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring, expensive, or time-consuming.
“With the right tools, like an air fryer, and simple, nutritious ingredients, you can create a variety of tasty, affordable meals in under 30 minutes.
“Spices, herbs, tinned beans, and frozen vegetables can add flavour and variety without breaking the bank.
“Planning meals and buying in bulk can also save time and money – I always say ‘cook once, eat twice’ which means cooking more than you need so you can enjoy speedy leftovers the following day!”
Whether you want to shed some pounds to find it easier to run around with your kids or reduce your risk of developing serious diseases, air fryer cooking could be the key.
One in four adults and one in five children in the UK is obese, and 64 per cent are overweight or obese, NHS figures show.
Carrying excess body fat increases your risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke and cancer, and can contribute to mental health problems like depression.
Sometimes, it’s as simple as eating too much. But obesity is complex, and has many causes.
There are also numerous reasons why some people struggle to lose weight.
Nichola says: “Weight loss can be challenging, even for those who perceive their diet as ‘healthy’, due to several factors.”
PORTION DISTORTION
THERE is no ‘normal’ portion size.
The amount of food we each need is hugely dependent on our age, gender, height, weight and activity levels.
That said, most of us are eating far more than we need to be.
“Portion sizes are often underestimated, leading to the unintentional overconsumption of calories,” Nichola says.
As a very general rule, the British Nutrition Foundation recommends:
- Dried pasta shapes or rice – about two handfuls (75g)
- Spaghetti – a bunch the size of a £1 coin (75g)
- A baked potato – about the size of your fist (220g)
- Breakfast cereal – about three handfuls (40g)
- Chicken breast – about size of your whole hand (120g)
- Cheddar cheese – a piece about the size of two thumbs together (30g)
- Peanut butter – about one tablespoon (20g)
- Soft cheese – about three teaspoons (30g)
‘HIDDEN’ CALORIES
WE’RE also caught out by so-called ‘hidden’ calories.
“These often come from oils (including in fried foods), dressings, and forgotten-about snacks, and they can add up,” Nichola says.
“Fat provides nine calories per gram, which is more than double what protein and carbohydrates provide.
“And highly-processed foods may be less filling (due to their easy-to-each nature as well as poor fibre and protein content), causing people to eat more.”
FAD DIETS
AND there is also the concept of ‘metabolic adaptation’.
“This is where the body adapts to burning fewer and fewer calories when on a very low calorie (crash or fad) diet, and at the same time loses muscle, which is metabolically active,” Nichola adds.
This can make it harder and harder to lose weight over time.
Robyn Drummond, a personal trainer and nutritionist at Thrive With Robyn, says: “One of the main reasons people struggle to lose weight is because they have tried fad diets in the past, which have contributed to a poor relationship with food and caused confusion over what they should eat.
“A lot of these approaches don’t support long-term results. Your goals need to be ones you can follow for years, not just a few weeks or months.
“If you’re reducing your calories to very low levels, doing excessive exercise, or cutting out entire food groups (usually carbs), it’s highly unlikely you’ll stick to it, and then weight gain can happen.
“You’ll then likely feel guilty, especially because society has created this stigma around ‘good’ and ‘bad’ foods.
“When people consume something that is deemed ‘not allowed’, they feel like they’ve failed, which leads to ‘giving up’ and overeating.”
The best air fryers for 2025
By Lisa Burn
THE best air fryers will save you time, money and electricity.
Many have more than one function. And certain brands like Ninja also offer models with dual chambers so you can cook two different foods at the same time.
Traditionally deep-fried chips, fish and meat are healthier in an air fryer because there’s little or no oil used in prep, but they still sport the same crispy texture and flavourful taste.
Extra functions allow you to steam, roast, grill and bake all in the same appliance – and usually in half the time.
Our reviewers tested a range of the top air fryers on the market. They put each one through its paces at home with their families, testing out each of the machine’s functions.
They cooked meals and snacks over several weeks to discover what their particular product did best, as well as what they liked or didn’t like about it.
Testers took into consideration how easy the fryer was to use, how well it performed, how the food tasted when cooked and crucially, how easy the air fryer was to clean.
- Best overall air fryer: Russell Hobbs SatisFry Multi cooker
- Best dual air fryer: Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone Air Fryer
- Best Ninja air fryer: Ninja Foodi MAX 15-in-1 SmartLid Multi-Cooker
- Best small air fryer: Ninja Air Fryer Max
- Best value air fryer: Power XL Vortex air fryer

‘SILENT’ FACTORS
BUT it’s not just down to what we eat.
“Hormonal factors, stress, sleep deprivation, and medical conditions like hypothyroidism or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can also play a role in weight management,” Nichola says.
TIME POOR
AND how often do you complain that you haven’t got time to make a wholesome meal from scratch?
It can feel far easier to chuck a ready meal in the microwave or reach for Uber Eats.
“A lack of time is another major challenge when it comes to healthy eating and weight loss,” Robyn says.
“With ordering takeaways just a click away and more convenient than ever, it can be very tempting.”
But the calories, fat, salt and sugar in these foods quickly add up.

While not a magic solution, air fryers can help combat some of these issues.
“They allow you to cook meals with little to no added oil, significantly reducing calorie intake compared to traditional frying methods,” Nichola says.
“By creating a crispy texture without deep frying, air fryers make it easier to enjoy lighter versions of classic favourites, like chips or breaded chicken, which may help people stick to a lower-calorie diet.
“Air fryers also cook food relatively quickly, meaning people may be more likely to cook at home, instead of ordering a takeaway or snacking while they cook.
“Vegetables retain more nutrients compared to boiling, or overcooking, which enhances the overall nutritional value.
“However, it’s important to focus on the ingredients used, as air frying ultra-processed foods doesn’t automatically make them healthy!”
You don’t have to cut or restrict foods entirely and you don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen or the gym
Robyn Drummond
You could make breakfast, lunch and dinner in your air fryer if you really wanted to.
Robyn adds: “Having an air fryer can support your weight loss journey as it allows you to cook food more quickly.
“Whether it’s morning, noon or night, eating healthily doesn’t have to be boring, expensive or time-consuming.
“Once we let go of this misconception and understand that having a balanced food intake is actually important for long-term fat loss, it’s okay to enjoy treats in moderation.
“You don’t have to cut or restrict foods entirely and you don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen or the gym. It can be really simple.”
Nichola and Robyn shared some easy, cheap and quick meals to help you on your way.

Twisted mum, 31, who raped children with depraved Tinder lover & boasted about abuse online is found dead in prison
A TWISTED mum who raped children with her depraved Tinder lover and boasted about the abuse online has been found dead in prison.
Rebecca Holloway, now 31, was less than five years into her 12-and-a half-year sentence when she was found dead at Low Newton jail, Durham.

Holloway, from Grimsby, was 26, when she and Oliver Wilson, 28, of Lincolnshire, were jailed in 2020 after admitting to committing “horrific and appalling” abuse on children.
A Prison Service spokesperson confirmed the news and said: “HMP Low Newton prisoner Rebecca Holloway died on February 13.
“As with all deaths in custody, the Prison and Probation Ombudsman will investigate.”
Police have said the death is not suspicious but an inquest will be held to determine the exact circumstances.
Cops based in Lincolnshire tracked the sick pair down after finding Wilson, 28, online.
The defendant, who lives in Spalding, had shown a “great interest in buying used children’s underwear on eBay” and had shared indecent images of youngsters during web chats.
A bin-bag of soiled children’s clothing was found at his home along with a photo of a young child on his phone, and a copy of the film Lolita.
It was then police discovered the gruesome chats with Holloway about sexually abusing children.
When cops raided her home 60 miles away, they found sex toys and pictures of children – including snaps of girls’ underwear.
It then emerged a schoolgirl had been sexually abused and raped and another child was left with a sexual injury.
Judge Paul Watson QC told the couple their messages to each other were some of the most “depraved and vile” he had ever seen.
He said one of their victims had been abused in a “horrific and appalling way”.
“When she was asked how many times she had been raped by you, she could only reply ‘Lots’,” he said.
Holloway had encouraged her boyfriend to harm his victims, the court heard.
Judge Watson told her: “You played your part in the vile sexual acts to which the victim was subjected.
“You derived perverted sexual pleasure from what he was doing.
“You were a willing – even enthusiastic – participant in what happened.
“The full extent of the long-term impact on what you two did may never be known.”
Holloway was jailed for 12 and a half years while her accomplice, Oliver Wilson, was locked up for nearly 30.
Holloway, of Rutland Street, Grimsby, and Wilson, 28, of Lincolnshire, admitted two offences of rape of a child, including multiple occasions.

Meet the stars who’ve ditched TV for OnlyFans from Strictly finalist to axed soap actress – and see their sexiest pics
MORE and more celebrities are ditching their TV careers to pursue a life as an OnlyFans star.
With bills to be paid and thousands to be banked, it’s a tempting offer when television work drys up. Here we look at the stars who have made OnlyFans their full time job.

This week Strictly Come Dancing star John Whaite shocked fans when he revealed he is back on OnlyFans after his TV work dried up.
The Bake Off legend, 35, defended his decision to re-join the subscription app after he revealed he quit daytime TV when “that river ran dry”.
After ditching television, he is now stripping off and making explicit content for the adult only site.
John revealed he needed cash to “put food on the table” and he’s providing a “service” that brings a “bit of cheeky joy”.
He said: “I’ve had a lot of DMs about why I’ve re-joined OnlyFans, when I regretted it last time.
“Firstly, I think it’s important to remember that who we are, or at least little parts of us, can change.
“I for one don’t want to live my life stuck in a steadfast template that restricts my next move.
“Secondly, I enjoy performance. I enjoy being a show off. I enjoy building my body and celebrating the results.
“That’s not for everyone, and that’s ok – if you don’t like meat just walk on by the butcher’s shop.”
The star, who won The Great British Bake Off in 2012, continued: “Last time being on OF didn’t gel with my role on daytime television.
“I’m treating my OF career as precisely that – business.
“It cycles money into the economy, it puts food on my table, it gives some people a little bit of cheeky joy – it’s a service.”
Sarah Jayne Dunn

Another star who caused a huge stir when she ditched TV for OnlyFans was Sarah Jayne Dunn, 43.
The Hollyoaks star was thrown into a media whirlwind after walking away from her seemingly dream acting job in 2021.
After more than two decades on the Channel 4 soap, she was issued an ultimatum by show bosses – “either quit OnlyFans or be axed”.
But she refused to close her account, and went onto blast her bosses for “blatant hypocrisy”.

She claimed her new content was no different from the lads’ magazine and calendar shoots she was asked to do while on Hollyoaks.
Previously speaking to The Sun’s Fabulous, she said: “I’d been sexualised and been made an object of sexual desire for my entire adult life.
“To then be told I couldn’t do it on my own terms? That was really the bit that stung because it just didn’t make sense to me.”
She added: “I had spent years going on set, being put in short skirts and having a camera pan up and, you know, almost upskirt me and things like that.
“And then you’d have directors manhandling you and feeling uncomfortable… to be told that I couldn’t take control myself was the biggest kick in the teeth.”
Drea De Matteo

When her TV work slowed down and she was on the verge of losing her home, Sopranos star Drea de Matteo kicked off her OnlyFans career and has never looked back.
In fact, the actress was so successful she was able to pay off her mortgage – just five minutes after joining the site.
Although she received a mixed reaction when she signed up to OnlyFans almost two years ago – Drea insists she has no regrets.
After falling into financial difficulty and coming close to losing her family home, she started selling steamy snaps to fans.

She said: “It saved us. OnlyFans saved my life, 100 per cent. I can’t believe I’m saying that, but it really did save us.”
The Desperate Housewives star revealed she had just £9 in her bank account when she made the decision to sign up for OnlyFans.
“They put me into foreclosure and my house had flooded, so I was trying to sell the house quickly,” Drea said.
“I wanted to try and sell it before they took it.”
After posting her first snaps on OnlyFans, Drea was floored by how quickly the money started coming in.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, she continued: “I was like, holy s***. In five minutes, I was able to pay back compass real estate who kept the sale of my house.”
Richard Wisker

Who would’ve thought a Tracy Beaker star would now be making money on OnlyFans.
When former child star Richard Wisker joined the site in 2023, he left his fans gobsmacked having made his name as a baby faced star on a popular CBBC show.
“I was a child star on Tracy Beaker Returns,” he told The Sun in an exclusive interview.
“I played cheeky chappy Liam O’Donovan on the hit show. Now I’m a hit on Only Fans.
“I made thousands playing Liam in the hit show but now my fans are in their twenties.
“My fans wanted more, and I wanted to give them more.”
Paige Jimenez

Paige Jimenez was only 17 when she shot to fame on the US version of MasterChef.
She came in 19th place, and was praised by Gordon Ramsay for being brave enough to compete on the show at such a young age.
The TV chef told her she had a bright future ahead in the culinary world, but Paige soon hung up her apron when she realised her cooking career only paid $20 per hour.

The telly star has now raked in thousands of dollars by signing up to OnlyFans, where she posts racy pictures of herself.
She told the Daily Star: “I am pretty open. If someone wants to FaceTime and have a cheeky interaction for five minutes, that’s fine with me.
“Growing up in Hawaii, I’ve always been very provocative and sexual. I’ve always worn thong bikinis to the beach, and let’s face it, my t*ts are double Ds. They’re massive!”
However, Paige has admitted she is glad her dad is not alive to see her saucy photos, and hopes her other family members don’t come across it.
She also refuses to make sexual videos with other models on OnlyFans, saying she does not want her future children to one day see explicit clips of her.
What is OnlyFans?

OnlyFans is a subscription content service based in London.
As of 2023, it is thought to have more than 220million registered users and over three million content creators.
Sex workers charge monthly fees for access to pictures, videos and more.
While popular for porn, the site isn’t exclusively designed with that in mind – anyone who wants to build up a fan base and charge them for it can set one up.
Celebs like Katie Price and Kerry Katona are popular personalities on the platform.
“Whether you’re uploading tutorials, tips, behind-the-scenes footage or just endless selfies, a lot of your followers would be willing to pay for them,” the company states.
For every subscription that’s sold to a viewer, performers get 80 per cent of the cash while OnlyFans gets the rest.
It isn’t limited to adult content, as it has become popular with physical fitness experts and musicians.
Molly-Mae Hague’s ‘baby heartache revealed as she has second thoughts about more kids with Tommy Fury’
FORMER Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague is said to feel ‘conflicted’ over having more kids with Tommy Fury.
After we revealed that the pair, both 25, are planning an announcement to confirm they’re back together, Molly-Mae‘s baby heartache has been unveiled.

Molly-Mae and Tommy are mum and dad to two-year-old daughter Bambi.
The couple split up last summer but shared a New Year’s Eve kiss and then headed off on a loved-up trip for Valentine’s Day last month.
And as they plan to time the news of their rekindled relationship, Molly-Mae is said to be having “second thoughts about more kids with Tommy”.
According to a new report, Molly-Mae is feeling “conflicted” over her young family and wants to get back to a good place with Tommy before they expand their brood.
“She’s feeling quite conflicted at the moment,” a source told The Mirror.
“She loves the idea of having a bigger family with Tommy, and he’s obviously from a big family and sees his brother’s life [Tyson Fury has seven children], but because they’ve been through a difficult time, it’s not easy for her to think about.”
This comes after insiders told The Sun that the couple will be making the joint announcement via Instagram following the penultimate episodes of her Amazon Prime documentary.
The announcement is poised to be unveiled in the spring, which “leads nicely” into news the couple are giving it another go.
A source told The Sun: “Molly-Mae and Tommy are planning on making an announcement about them being back together pretty soon.
“It’s a social media post they have planned for after the documentary comes out – and the ending of the documentary leads nicely into the post.
“It will be a joint Instagram post – and unlike the last one where Molly announced the breakup, it will very much be a united front.”
An insider confirmed that the pair have “filmed together” for the upcoming episodes of her documentary, Molly-Mae: Behind It All, which will land on the streaming service in a couple of weeks.
The source added how they have been “Spending a lot of time together” lately.
Molly-Mae recently said of expanding her family: “It terrifies me the thought of Bambi growing up without a sister.
Timeline of Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury's split

After five years together, Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury split up in August 2024.
At around 4pm on Wednesday, August 14, Molly-Mae and Tommy suffer an explosive showdown and Molly-Mae announces her split from fiancé Tommy Fury, saying ‘ I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way’.
An hour later Tommy shares a separate and brief statement confirming they have parted ways, and thanks Molly-Mae for making him ‘a dad’.
The real reason they split emerges and on Thursday, August 15 The Sun reveals how Molly-Mae learned Tommy had cheated on her – leading to an explosive showdown.
On Saturday, August 17, The Sun reveals how Molly-Mae had been sent an upsetting video showing Tommy kissing a girl in a nightclub in North Macedonia on a lads holiday.
Exactly one week after the split a Danish woman accused of getting close to Tommy speaks to The Sun. On Wednesday, August 21, she denies she is the girl who kissed Tommy.
“I feel that way because, as much as we’ve had our times where we can’t even look at each other, my sister made my life growing up. She’s made my life now.
“I wouldn’t be who I am without Zoe and it makes me feel a bit emotional.
“I know Bambi would be absolutely fine without a sister or a sibling because I know I’m going to be that girl’s best friend forever.”
She added: “My number one goal in life is that me and her are so unbelievably close that she wouldn’t even need a best friend because she’s always going to have me.
“And the same with her dad. I know she will be like that with us… I do think we are really incredible parents to her so I know she’d be fine.”
