THE BOMB squad was called to detonate a car after a man drove through the barriers of a disused Army barracks.
The man was reportedly armed with explosives and was shouting at guards before being arrested.

Officers from Hampshire Constabulary were called at 4.30pm on Saturday amid reports a man had tried to enter the St Omer Barracks in Aldershot.
The man had reportedly driven through the barriers before getting out of the car, shouting at the guards and damaging the outside of the car with a knife.
Police said the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team (EOD) also attended and detonated the car in a controlled explosion because of comments the man made.
No-one was hurt and the force has confirmed the incident is not currently being treated as terror-related.
A 54-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place and criminal damage.
He remains in custody at this time, officers said.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “An investigation has been launched and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called at 4:30pm on Saturday to reports that a man had attempted to enter the St Omer Barracks in Aldershot.
“It was reported that the man had driven through the barriers before exiting the car, shouting at the guards and damaging the outside of the car with a knife.
“Officers attended and arrested a 54 year-old man of no fixed abode on suspicion of possessing a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place and criminal damage.
“He remains in police custody at this time.
“Due to comments made by the man, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team also attended and carried out a controlled explosion of the car.
“No one was hurt.
“An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. At this time, it is not being treated as a terrorism related incident.”
A Ministry of Defence spokesperson added: “The incident is being dealt with by Hampshire Police.”

In an interview with The Sun’s TV Mag, David has revealed a few shocking secrets about his role as the iconic detective.
Stating that he missed playing Poirot he added: “Of course I miss him. I mean I never knew I was going to play him for 25 years.
“I mean I had a one year contract, I had a one summer contract.
“I had six short stories. And then I was out of work. And then I got the next one.
“And then I did some theatre. And then I got the next one. And then I did the movies. And then I did another television.
“And then I got the next one. And it was year by year by year by year with gaps in between. Until suddenly 25 years on. And that’s a wrap.”
David adds: “And the other question you’ll want to know is what I think about other Poirots. And my answer is I haven’t watched any.
“I haven’t watched any for the simple reason that I knew I would be asked.
“Possibly wanting to know whether I thought they were lesser than mine. So to have no opinion is a good place to be.”
Since finishing Poirot in 2013, David has appeared in series such as Decline and Fall, Doctor Who and His Dark Materials.
David has been cast in a new a Channel 5 drama alongside Lupin star Ludmilla Makowski, called The Au Pair.
David will play George in The Au Pair, which is about a diabetic father who moves to live next door to his daughter Zoe, played by Beyond Paradise’s Sally Bretton.
Zoe, seems to have it all— a successful husband Chris (Kenny Doughty), two adorable stepchildren, a thriving tailoring business and a gorgeous countryside home in a picturesque English town.
However, all is not as it seems as she experiences marital issues and pressure mounts when George moves in next door.

However it’s far from plain sailing, as a young and attractive live-in nanny comes to work with the Fallmont family, and tensions soon build and eventually, someone ends up dead.
The Drowning – Jill Halfpenny plays Jodie, a woman whose life is shattered following the disappearance of her beloved four-year-old son, Daniel. However, ten years later, the grieving mother thinks she’s finally found her missing child, and embarks on a journey to discover the truth about him. But has she really just found the son she has been missing for so long?
When Zoe hires Sandrine (Ludmilla), a beguiling French au pair, she triggers an unsettling shift in the household as instincts and suspicions arise.
The show is said to delve “into the complexities of family, trust and hidden truths, against the backdrop of the picturesque British countryside”.
Playing George in The Au Pair is David’s first major television role since Poirot.
Speaking of his character in the series, David explained that it felt like he was playing someone much more like himself.
“I was watching with my wife. What was interesting is that she found it as extraordinary as me.

He said: “Most of my screen work, as I’ve said, has been as foreign as coming from other countries. But this was very much me.
“I was watching with my wife. What was interesting is that she found it as extraordinary as me.
“Because she’s never seen me play more who I am. She’s always seen me play Poirot or other foreign gentlemen.
“I suppose the nearest I’ve been to not being foreign was Robert Maxwell. Yes. Very different. Very, very different, yes.
“But this is far more who I am now.”
David concluded by revealing what his wife thought of George: “She found him very interesting, very moving. Very, very moving.”
