THE Jam drummer Rick Buckler has died at the aged of 69 after a short illness.
Rick was the drummer for the hit band from its formation in the early 1970s through to its break up in the early 1980s.
His The Jam bandmates Paul Weller and Bruce Foxton confirmed the sad news in separate statements.
Weller wrote: “I’m shocked and saddened by Rick’s passing. I’m thinking back to us all rehearsing in my bedroom in Stanley Road, Woking. To all the pubs and clubs we played at as kids, to eventually making a record.
“What a journey! We went far beyond our dreams and what we made stands the test of time. My deepest sympathy to all family and friends – P.W x.”
Bruce Foxton said: “I was shocked and devastated to hear the very sad news today. Rick was a good guy and a great drummer whose innovative drum patterns helped shape our songs.
“I’m glad we had the chance to work together as much as we did. My thoughts are with Leslie and his family at this very difficult time,”
Legendary musician Rick had been forced to cancel his recent spoken word tour due to “ongoing health issues”.
On February 1 his team posted a message about the cancellation on Facebook.
LAUREN Goodger today showed off her shapely £5k bum as she stepped out in leggings, after revealing plans to go back to a more natural look.
Lauren, 38, who shot to fame on the first series of The Only Way Is Essex in 2010, has always been very open about the surgery she’s had done.
Today the Towie legend was seen stepping out for a trip to the cinema in her native Essex.
The mum-of-one opted for tight leggings which hugged her figure and showed off her shapely bum.
Lauren – who has daughter called Larose – has previously admitted to having a Brazilian Bum Lift in 2017, which followed her boob job in 2014, which took her from 34D to an E.
Over the years she has also admitted to having “tweakments” like Botox and fillers.
But despite spending thousands to enhance her looks, Lauren has previously admitted she wants to go back to a more “natural look”.
Speaking to Closer last year, Lauren said: “When I had everything done, I looked the b****ks.
“My boobs looked amazing, I loved how I looked in pictures and all the attention.
“But now I wish I’d never had anything. I want it all out.
“My bum and boobs make me look bigger and cause me pain. I want to reverse it all and go back to natural.”
Going on, the reality star added: “When you have kids, your boobs blow up! I’ve got lumps and bumps everywhere and it feels heavy and uncomfortable. I had lovely boobs, there was nothing wrong with them.
“I had a great time with them, but if I knew they’d only get bigger, I wouldn’t have had them.
“We don’t know the long-term effects of implants either.”
Lauren then revealed how her Brazilian Butt Lift surgery had left her riddled with back pain.
“My bum is absolutely mahoosive,” she said. “That Kardashian look was in fashion and everyone was going to one particular place in Turkey.”
She then added: “I asked around and thought, ‘Let’s do it’.
“I was toned and slim, and just wanted a big bum too.
“Now, when I lift Larose, my back is in bits.”
Lauren shot to fame in the very first series of The Only Way Is Essex.
The OG reality star dated Mark Wright during her time on the show, but the pair officially split up in 2016.
After Towie she competed in the eighth series of Dancing On Ice.
She was eliminated in the second week and has since branded the judges as “vile”.
Lauren also starred in Celebrity Big Brother in 2014 and was the seventh housemate of the series to be evicted.
In 2024, she returned to Towie, much to the delight of fans.
KYLE WALKER’s stint with AC Milan has got off to a disastrous start.
The England international joined the Italian giants in the January transfer window on loan from Manchester City.
The prospect of playing Champions League football at the iconic San Siro stadium was no doubt one of the things that attracted Walker to the move.
But just 25 days after his Milan move, the Rossoneiri are now no longer in Europe‘s elite club competition.
Milan were dumped out of the prestigious tournament thanks to a 2-1 aggregate defeat in their last-16 qualifier.
Feyenoord, who secured a stunning 3-3 draw with Walker’s parent club last year, went into the second leg leading the tie 1-0.
But Santiago Jiminez cancelled out their lead less than 60 seconds into the return leg and laid the foundations for a big comeback.
Milan huffed and puffed but failed to breach the vistors’ goal a second time.
And they paid the price in the 73rd minute when Julian Carranza struck to restore the visitor’s advantage and fire them into the last 16.
Walker and his Milan team-mates cut frustrated figures after the final whilst.
The visitors, on the other hand, were ecstatic with their famous progression through to the knockout stages.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER dreams of owning the world’s seventh-richest sports club.
Now “The Money” has launched a buy-in bid for the New York Giants that is more jaw-dropping than any knockout blow he landed in the ring.
The boxing legend, 47, is reportedly heading a group trying to purchase 10% of the NFL team… for around $700 million (£556m).
TMZ Sports say Mayweather and his business partner – real estate magnate, Meyer Orbach – are preparing an offer.
It’s claimed $200m ((£159m) has already been put aside in an escrow account.
That’s an account where a neutral third party holds onto a sum while a contract is sorted out.
US sports teams dominate the rich list – Dallas Cowboys heading the pile with a valuation of $10.1bn.
Four-time Super Bowl winners the Giants come in at $7.4bn – just behind the New York Patriots on $7.4bn.
The roll-call of wealth Stateside is broken below the top 10 by three of Europe’s biggest football clubs.
Real Madrid are joint 12th on $6.6bn, alongside 2025 Super Bowl winners Philadelphia Eagles on $6.6bn.
USA teams fill all the leading 10 spots -with six from the NFL, three in basketball's NBA and one in Major League Baseball.
1 Dallas Cowboys, NFL – $10.1billion
2 Golden State Warriors, NBA – $8.8bn
3 Los Angeles Rams, NFL – $7.6bn
4 New York Yankees, MLB – $7.55bn
5 New York Knicks, NBA – $7.5bn
6 New England Patriots, NFL – $7.4bn
7 New York Giants, NFL – $7.3bn
8 Los Angeles Lakers, NBA – $7.1bn
9 New York Jets, NFL – $6.9bn
10 San Francisco 49ers, NFL – $6.8bn
Selected others:
12 Real Madrid – $6.6bn
14 Man Utd – $6.55bn
20 Barcelona – $5.6bn
27 Liverpool – $5.37bn
31 Man City – $5.1bn
34 Bayern Munich – $5bn
47 Paris Saint-Germain $4.4bn
Next come Manchester United ($6.55bn), while Barcelona are 20th on $5.6bn.
It’s reckoned five-weight ex-world champion Mayweather and Orbach could soon be joined by another major investor in a group trying to buy part of the Giants.
TMZ quote Orbach as saying: “My partners and I are always looking at different opportunities, including ownership of sports teams. I can’t comment further than that.”
He already owns nearly 20% of basketball team Minnesota Timberwolves.
The interest in the Giants follows two of the team’s owners revealing they hope to sell some of their stake.
Now John Mara, who is club founder Tim Mara’s grandson, and Steve Tisch could soon be tested by an approach from Mayweather.
And the amount involved would absolutely dwarf his other spectacular investments, such as his $20m fleet of supercars.
Imagine mistaking a billionaire for your personal bellboy. Yep, that actually happened. One Shark Tank judge had the ultimate “oops” moment when she thought Mark Cuban was just some helpful luggage guy. Why? Because he was being too nice. Turns out, chivalry isn’t dead, but it might just get you mistaken for hotel staff. The […]
