PARENTS have been urged to stop using a baby product sold online after a serious safety issue was identified.
The recall affects an amber teething necklace sold on the AliExpress platform, which poses both choking and strangulation hazards.
Officials have warned that the necklace could wind around a baby’s neck, creating a risk of strangulation.
Additionally, if the necklace is ingested, it could lead to choking.
The affected item is an AliExpress product, its batch number is 013/03398, but the brand and barcode remain unknown.
The product was sold exclusively online through AliExpress.
Anyone who purchased this item is strongly advised to stop using it immediately and safely dispose of it.
Parents may also contact AliExpress via their user accounts to inquire about available remedies.
Safety officials are reminding parents to prioritise products that meet the highest safety standards.

The affected toy motor was sold in Smyths stores across the country.
The CCCPC has issued the recall of Acctel 24V Vertex UTV due to safety concerns.
Issues with the toy’s circuit board means the product can overheat and begin to melt.
If a child touches it, they may get severely burned.
There are approximately 61 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
The affected products were made available from 15/07/2024 to 21/10/2024.

However, products sold after that date are not affected by the recall.
The CCPC said customers should stop using the product immediately and keep it out of reach from children along with unplugging the battery.
