Travel chaos as Irish Rail ‘working to rectify’ site issue with number of trains to ‘operate with reduced capacity’

MAJOR travel disruption is under way as the Irish Rail website is currently down – and a number of services are operating at reduced capacity.

A number of commuters were hit with an error message when setting out to check timetables, book tickets and keep up to date with train schedules.

The Irish Rail website is curently displaying an error message which states: “Service Unavailable – Zero size object.

“The server is temporarily unable to service your request. Please try again later.”

Replying to one commuter on X, formerly known as Twitter, Irish Rail confirmed that the digital team was working to quickly rectify the issue.

The spokesperson wrote: “Our Digital Team is working to rectify this issue as quickly as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.”

The national rail service has also issued an update to state that a number of Dublin and Louth services will operate with a reduced capacity this afternoon.

This includes the 1.07pm Connolly to Drogheda, 3,03pm Drogheda to Grand Canal Dock, 4.19 from Grand Canal Dock to Drogheda, the 6.03pm Drogheda to Grand Canal Dock, the 7.19 pm Grand Canal Dock to Drogheda and the 9.05pm train from Drogheda to Connolly.
