The Apprentice was ‘secretly forced to halt’ production amid cast illness & show star reveals Lord Sugar’s sweet gesture

THE Apprentice was secretly forced to halt filming on this year’s show after one of the cast members fell ill on-set.

Nadia was fired two weeks after secretly falling ill on the show[/caption]

Nadia had been suffering from an illness during the filming of the virtual popstar task in the days prior and things reached a peak as the candidates headed back into deliberation with Lord Sugar, Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell.

As a result of her consistent coughing which was causing a disruption to filming, producers decided to pause and take a time-out.

Nadia, who was eliminated during this week’s episode, spoke exclusively to The Sun about the secret filming halt but admitted her cast members were all incredibly supportive.

The Knightsbridge hair salon owner told us: “You know I got quite ill in episode two.

“I was coughing. I was literally coughing so much that I was like splattering and they had to stop production because you know I was ill.”

However, Nadia revealed that it was a simple gesture from Lord Alan Sugar that put a smile on her face.

Revealing he broke out from his usual hard businessman exterior, Nadia revealed he personally got her a throat lozenger during the halt in production.

The fired candidate revealed: “This is such a kind thing but it just stuck with me. Lord Sugar just like threw across the table a throat lozenger to me.

“But they were really sweet and Baroness Brady gave me a tissue and it was just really really like humble and nice and I thought you know what – this is good.”

Her positive encounters ultimately made her respect Lord Sugar’s decision to fire her more as she felt he chose to axe her at the right time as opposed to when she found herself ill in the boardroom two weeks prior.

Nadia added: “It made me respect his decision on episode four [to fire her] more.

“Had I been thrown out on episode two for example when I was back in the boardroom and ill with the virtual pop star task then I would have been gutted because I didn’t deserve to be back there that day not at all.”

Elsewhere, Nadia has lashed out at BBC bosses for editing out scenes and creating a “bad” episode for her during her final appearance on the show.

She told The Sun: “I do feel on this [episode], the editing is particularly bad.

“It is edited quite bad because there’s a lot of it that makes it look like I’m just completely wrong.

“There were so many scenes where things did go well like the way the kitchen was run – we had a really good station and a really good work process.”
