Soulja Boy vs Chris Brown Boxing Match: Floyd Mayweather’s Reaction to Soulja Boy Boasting His Knockout Power Shows What a Circus It Was

If you’re going to talk the talk, you better be ready to walk the walk. Or in Soulja Boy’s case, if you’re going to claim knockout power, you better not be all talk and no punches. A throwback 2017 video featuring Floyd Mayweather and Boy is making the rounds once again, bringing back memories of one of the most bizarre celebrity boxing ‘feuds’ in recent history.

This feud blew up like a cheap firecracker—loud and explosive, but ultimately not much to show for it. They weren’t just throwing verbal jabs on social media; oh no, they wanted to settle their differences in the ring. Really? Yes!

And Mayweather’s reaction to Boy’s claim of ‘knockout power’ was like a father watching his toddler try to swing a baseball bat. His smirk while listening to Boy’s extensive fighting resume from high school said it all!

Soulja Boy vs Chris Brown: When social media beef turns into a boxing match

It all started over social media posts likes and a love triangle. Soulja Boy liked a photo of Chris Brown’s ex, Karrueche Tran, and before long, both artists were sending each other insults, threats, and challenge-threatening videos (via First Sportz).

Mike Tyson was ready to school Brown, but the fight never actually came to fruition.

And just like that, this fight idea was born. Soulja Boy, thinking he was ready to rumble, called on Floyd Mayweather to train him. Meanwhile, Chris Brown, not one to sit on the sidelines, tapped none other than Mike Tyson to be his coach. Tyson, of course, being Tyson, went full Tyson mode, offering to teach Brown not just how to box, but how to bite an ear and unleash some dirty tricks in the ring.

But, as it turned out, no amount of training could prepare these two for what was about to unfold: a fight that wasn’t going to happen. The plans, which initially had the glitter of a Las Vegas showdown, soon evaporated like a desert mirage.

And Floyd Mayweather’s hilarious reaction says it all

This is where the throwback video of Floyd Mayweather recently comes in, giving us a glimpse of his reaction to Soulja Boy’s unrelenting boast about his street-fighting past.

In the 2017 throwback video, Boy went on about his high school fighting career, clearly thinking he was preparing for his moment in the ring. Floyd, however, could barely keep a straight face. His smirk was priceless — probably a mix of “Bless your heart” and “This kid has no clue what he’s getting into.”

Mayweather wasn’t just doubtful; he was practically laughing at the notion that Boy could hold his own against Chris Brown, let alone go toe-to-toe in the ring with anyone else. Let’s read a few fans’ comments:

But as the hype continued to build, the reality sunk in: neither of these guys would have had the stamina or skill to last more than two rounds without proper boxing training.

So what did we learn? Don’t bite off more than you can chew. Or, in this case, don’t lace up boxing gloves unless you know how to throw a punch without looking like you’re trying to swat a fly. The real knockout here? The ridiculousness of it all. But hey, it was a fun ride while it lasted, and Mayweather? Well, he’s probably still laughing.
