The British mockumentary sitcom The Office remains one of the most influential comedies ever produced. Not only did the series enjoy a stellar three-season run which culminated in an 8.5 IMDB rating, it also inspired a range of spinoffs, including the Steve Carrell version.
Though it only lasted for two seasons (2001–2003), the show catapulted its cast to stardom, and produced a range of superstars. Over two decades later, let’s take a look at where the actors are in 2025.
Ewen MacIntosh (Keith Bishop)
Ewen MacIntosh, who played the deadpan and beloved accountant Keith Bishop, sadly passed away at the age of 50. His death was confirmed on February 21, 2024, leading to an outpouring of tributes from fans and co-stars. Ricky Gervais described him as an “absolute original.” (via Standard)
Despite limited screen time in The Office, MacIntosh’s role led to appearances in EastEnders, Little Britain, and The Lobster. He reprised his character in David Brent: Life on the Road (2016) and also featured in After Life. However, he faced financial struggles, declaring bankruptcy in 2016. In later years, he relied on personalized video messages for income and battled health issues before his passing.
Ricky Gervais (David Brent)
Ricky Gervais, co-creator and lead star of The Office, has continued his reign as one of the world’s top comedians. Since playing David Brent, he has starred in and directed Extras, Life’s Too Short, and After Life, the latter earning him multiple awards.

Ralph Ineson (Chris Finch)
Ralph Ineson played Chris Finch, the loud-mouthed and crude traveling salesman. He later embraced villainous roles, appearing as Amycus Carrow in the Harry Potter franchise and in acclaimed films like The Witch.
