A WOMAN’S body has been recovered from the water at a Scots harbour.
Emergency services were called to the coastal village of Garlieston, near Newton Stewart, after the alarm was raised on Wednesday afternoon.
Police confirmed that the body was discovered on at around 3.40pm near South Crescent in the Dumfries and Galloway hamlet.
Officers stated that there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
Her family has been informed.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.40pm on Wednesday, 19 February 2025, the body of a woman was recovered from the water at the harbour in Garlieston, Newton Stewart.
“Her family has been informed.
“There appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
