Ever since Triple H succeeded Vince McMahon, WWE has undergone massive changes that have once again made entertainment wrestling popular to watch. From bringing back released talents to featuring emotionally gripping storylines, the Game has ensured that his decision would mark positive changes that would improve the quality of the workplace.

To bring a breath of fresh air and a ton of benefits to the company, WWE has started doing something that it has not done in a long time: working with other brands. This was evident during one of the segments of SmackDown, where KSI and Logan Paul announced the sponsorship deal between the two and how PRIME’s logo would appear on the wrestling mat.
This creative decision sparked a massive backlash on the internet, primarily because the ring has been void of featuring any logos in the past. However, the hate did not stop there, as some die-hard fans were so upset that they wished Mr. McMahon had never stepped down as the boss of the company.
Triple H discarded Vince McMahon’s one sacred rule
There’s no denying that Triple H is responsible for adding the ‘World’ in World Wrestling Entertainment after fans started walking away from the show for being consistently repetitive. However, it was Vince McMahon who built WWE into a global powerhouse that featured numerous iconic moments.

Nevertheless, to resonate with the new generation of viewers and appeal to the younger audience, Paul “Triple H” Levesque struck a deal with the most popular hydrating drink, PRIME. The deal was initially approved by the fans, until they witnessed how the brand’s massive logo would be present in the middle of the ring.
This notion went completely against the belief of the WWE Universe, which criticized the decision on social media. The criticism was harsh enough for Logan Paul to talk about the sponsorship in his podcast, IMPAULSIVE, stating that it was an “opportunity” and he would take it to make the fans “hate me even more.”

Surprisingly, this controversial change has made the fans divisive, majorly because of what the mat meant to Vince McMahon. Recently, Michael Cole was present on the IMPAULSIVE podcast, where he mentioned how featuring the PRIME logo on the mat was something they never thought about doing under McMahon’s management. He said,
The Prime logo on the mat, and now all the logos we’ve got. This would have never happened. I understood Vince’s perspective that the mat was sacred. But it’s 2025, this is the world.
The host interrupted Cole, stating that in the modern world, everyone is building their own brand and how it appeals to the eye when there’s a “brand.”
The comments have once again sparked a heated debate among wrestling enthusiasts on the controversial topic.
The WWE Universe has their say on Vince’s sacred rule
With Cole stating how the Cerebral Assassin defenestrated the sacred rule of adding logos on the mat, this decision had divided the fans when it was first unveiled in SmackDown. Michael Cole’s comments on the IMPAULSIVE podcast were shared by a fan page (@wrestlelamia) on X, which has once again divided the fanbase.

On one hand, some claim that Triple H should not have scrapped the traditions of the sport. On the other hand, some claim that they loved the modern concept of adding logos, giving it a UFC feel to it, with some appreciating the idea, but having so many logos ruins it. The fans commented,
I like the sponsorships on the ring icl gives it a ufc feel without being forced

He was right. The black prime logo is fine but not a fan of having 9 different logos on it

I mean Vince was right, put that crap outside the ring.

At some point people have to be honest and admit Vince was better

Honestly? I can’t stand Vince but he is 100% right 🤷🏻♂️ I feel like that should be the one area untouched and the only thing on it should be the wrestlers sweat and blood.

I agree with him on this one!

Whether you like it or not, the idea of having more sponsorships has helped WWE to be a better place, giving a more lucrative paycheck and ensuring that the quality of life in the locker room is improved.
WWE RAW can be streamed on Netflix.
