The new era of Emperors has taken center stage in One Piece and they have established themselves as a dangerous force that is maintaining the balance like their predecessors. And while I am happy that the pirate world in One Piece is changing for the better, I am still not convinced that the current era of One Piece Emperors is as strong as characters like Kaido and Whitebeard.

These two characters held the strongest titles in the One Piece universe besides the Pirate King. While Kaido was the Strongest Creature in the World, Whitebeard was known as the Strongest Man in the World. Besides, they both served on the same crew in the past, and if Shanks hadn’t intervened during the Marineford war, we would have gotten to see them battle.
The two Emperors clashing could have been the biggest moment in One Piece history that Eiichiro Oda gave up on. But if it had really happened, I bet the results would have shocked the entire anime and manga universe. This is because, contrary to popular belief, there is a chance that Kaido could have won against Whitebeard in One Piece.
The two literal powerhouses of One Piece
Although both Whitebeard’s and Kaido’s journeys in One Piece have ended, they are still remembered by fans solely because of the threat they posed and the power they possessed as Emperors of the Sea. While Kaido had a massive bounty of 4,611,100,000 berries, Whitebeard topped him off with 5,046,000,000 berries, which is the second-highest bounty in One Piece.
In terms of strength, both of them possessed the strongest Devil Fruits in their category in One Piece. Whitebeard had the Gura Gura no Mi, which has the ability to destroy the entire world, and Kaido had the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, which was a mythical Zoan Devil Fruit that allowed him to transform into a full serpentine azure dragon and also a hybrid.

And while their Devil Fruits were different in categories, the two One Piece Emperors possessed the same Haki abilities. Both Whitebeard and Kaido could use all three forms of Haki, and they could even use the advanced forms of Armament and Conqueror’s Haki. However, Kaido had a slight edge as he was also able to use the advanced form of Observation Haki.
Kaido might just win against Whitebeard
I am sure One Piece fans like me often think about what would have happened if the two Emperors had fought an all-out battle against each other in Marineford. And although I want to believe Whitebeard could have won, Kaido had a few tricks in his arsenal, which forced me to take his side and point him out as the winner between the two.

The first advantage that Kaido has over Whitebeard is his invulnerable skin that is infused with the dragon scales from his Devil Fruit. While there is no doubt that Whitebeard would cause major damage, it won’t be as hurtful as the attacks that Kaido launched on Whitebeard. The second advantage is his ability to fly in his dragon mode, which gives him another edge over Whitebeard and saves him from his Devil Fruit attacks in One Piece.
I know that both of them are literal monsters who have fought proper armies alone. But contrary to popular belief among One Piece fans, Kaido might steal the win against Whitebeard solely because of his advantages and Whitebeard’s health. If they had fought in their prime, then I think the situation might have been a little different.
