Gino, 48, was also a team captain on the now axed Celebrity Juice and recently has hosted the reboot of Family Fortunes.

But now the dad-of-three has admitted he turned down one of television’s biggest shows – all because it clashes with his holidays each year.

He explained: “I will not budge on working on my holidays. From the 15th June until the 15th September, I do not care who you are, how much money you have got, how big the show is, I do not care.

“And, I’ve said no to the biggest show that you can think of, nationally and internationally.”

The star stopped short of revealing just what show he turned down, leaving fans guessing.

Gino added to the White Wine Question Time podcast that he made this decision due to his parents dying when he was young.

He continued:  “I lost my parents when they were very young, both of them in their 60s, so I didn’t have a mum and dad when I was about 35 or 36-years-old. “What happened at that point Kate, I started to think, could life be shorter than what I think or what we believe? I really started to believe that life is not as long as we think, and that was the moment that I thought, okay, I have the money, I made a few money in the bank, so I don’t have to worry about it.

“Now what is it that I want to do with my life? Do I want to bank more money or do I want to bank more memories?”

Meanwhile, Gino recently told how a drunken joke on Celebrity Juice led to a very costly mistake to the tune of £20,000.

He was jostled into changing his name to Sheffield, when he was the team captain on Leigh Francis’ panel show, which upset his Italian mother.

It ended up costing Gino a fortune in legal fees and arranging travel documents.
