BRITAIN’S cheapest home with three bedrooms, huge bay windows and spectacular views has hit the market for just £1.
Data from the Office for National Statistics reveals the average house price in the New Forest was £389,000 in December last year.
The £1 house, on Whitefield Road, Hampshire is split into a ground and first floor unit.
Visitors entering the property are met with a timber-style flooring.
The ground floor holds a sitting/dining room with large bay windows looking over the front of the property.
The kitchen features a range of wall and base units, a skylight and a door to the outisde.
The timber style flooring continues into the downstairs bedroom, positioned next to a shower room.
The shower room is fitted with a white suite comprising a fully tiled shower cubicle, wash basin and WC.
Upstairs is another sitting/dining room with a large bay window and a “lovely” outlook over the bowling green.
The kitchen has “limited” built-in storage space and next to it is a double bedroom with built-in storage and a bathroom.
Offering plenty of potential, estate agency Mitchells describe the property a refurbishment or redevelopment project.
Two nearby train stations include New Milton, just 1.4 miles away, and Sway, at 2.5 miles.
Its website states: “A characterful detached property currently laid out as three individual units and offering excellent potential for re-configuration or for a re-development of the site.
“The property is in need of a complete renovation and is situated in a fantastic position in the heart of New Milton.
“It is offered with no forward chain and other features include a garage and store room to the rear, a small private garden.
“The property will be offered for sale by informal tender with all offers to be received by midday on 31st March 2025.”
It comes after the eight cheapest homes you can buy now with a deposit of just £3,000 were revealed.
House prices have been on the rise, with the average buyer paying around £300k to make their dream of home ownership come true.
To make matters worse upcoming changes to stamp duty, means hopeful homeowners could end up forking out more than they had a few years ago.
Extra stamp duty relief available to first-time buyers since 2022 will end in April 2025.
As a result, a first-time buyer purchasing a property valued at £425,000 will incur a stamp duty charge of £6,250.
But all hope is not lost, some areas in the UK are still home to properties which are priced well below the national average.
