Alex Perez, an industry insider, had some key insights about what Avengers: Doomsday is going to look like. A slew of characters old and new are expected to be a part of the story that is going to take out Doctor Doom, including Avengers old and new (like The Hulk, Wong, Spider-Man, and Captain America), along with the Fantastic Four.
Perez also suggests that a handful of mutants that cannot be mentioned yet will be instrumental to Avengers: Doomsday. Given that the X-Men have not yet gotten their time to shine in the MCU just yet, only being relegated to cameos here and there, it remains to be seen which mutants are actually going to come into play in the final chapter of the Multiverse Saga.
There are a slew of X-Men teams that could come into play in the MCU
The obvious choice for the team of X-Men in the MCU, at least during Doomsday, would be the X-Force that Deadpool assembled, including Colossus, X-23, Wolverine, Shatterstar, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Yukio. This seems to be a solid team of mutants that has some experience in multiverse shenanigans that could be of use when fighting Doom.
It must also be noted that Monica Rambeau is currently stuck in a universe with the X-Men, who could also be conducting their own investigation, and if these characters are anything like their comics or Fox counterparts, it is expected that they too would have a lot of experience with the multiverse. Earth 838, has also fought incursions in its time.
A lot of mutants have also been popping up in the MCU, such as Namor and Ms Marvel. Namor could have a part to play in the MCU, given that he is important to the mythos of the Fantastic Four, and a rival to Doctor Doom. Ms. Marvel is also assembling her own team of heroes, which could include mutants like Billy and Tommy.

Doomsday is going to be the first Avengers movie since Endgame, which is going to see a new batch of heroes assemble and take up the title of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to battle Doctor Doom. The key players in this film, according to Alex Perez, will be (via Cosmic Circus):
Doom is at the top of that list. The Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Wong, and Bruce Banner are also on that list, along with a handful of mutants that I can’t mention just yet.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to include The Avengers, The Fantastic Four, and what looks like mutants but not necessarily the X-Men, if Perez’s comments are to be looked at. The mutants could very much be the indigenous population of the MCU, which might still be in the process of figuring out its first generation of mutants.
What this throws into question is how the MCU is going to cater to the histories of Charles Xavier, Logan, Weapon X, and Magneto, all of which are tied to events we have seen play out in the MCU already. It is possible that the MCU will adjust its timeline come Secret Wars, which might allow the franchise to indulge in some nonlinear storytelling, with a focus on retelling some stories with all its characters under one banner.
