In her interview with Sky News, Melissa Thompson accused Weinstein of r*ping her in 2011. During a business meeting, Weinstein allegedly locked the door and touched her inappropriately. Later, he invited her to his hotel, where he allegedly trapped and r*ped her.

“If I tried to fight, he would block me in,” Thompson said. Despite her fear, she later spoke out and shared a video of the meeting to expose his tactics.

Uma Thurman mentioned an attempted s*xual assault by Weinstein in a London hotel in the mid-1990s in her interview with The New York Times. He allegedly pushed her down, tried to force himself on her, “tried to expose himself” and “did all kinds of unpleasant things.”

Thurman fought back, wriggling away like “a lizard.” She later confronted Weinstein, reportedly warning him, “If you do what you did to me to others, you will lose your career and reputation.” He sent her flowers the next day with a cryptic note that said, “You have great instincts.”

Paula Wachowiak was a 24-year-old intern when Weinstein allegedly exposed himself and asked for a massage. As per her interview with Buffalo News, during the 1980 production of The Burning, she brought checks to his hotel room, where he greeted her in a towel and later dropped it.

When he asked for a massage, Wachowiak refused, telling him, “That’s not in my job description.” He laughed and signed the checks. Years later, she recalled the incident as deeply disturbing but was proud she stood her ground.

In 1980, Wende Walsh was a bartender in Buffalo, New York, when Weinstein allegedly forced her into his car and exposed himself. He repeatedly tried to push her head into his lap.

As per Buffalo News, Walsh said she told him “no” multiple times, but he wouldn’t take no for an answer. The experience left her shaken and traumatized.

Paula Williams was a 19-year-old model when Weinstein invited her to what she thought was a dinner party in the Hollywood Hills. When she arrived, Weinstein was the only one there.

As per The Washington Post, he allegedly exposed himself after a glass of champagne, and Williams immediately fled on foot, running through yards to avoid being followed.

During her appearance on Dudley and Bob With Matt Show podcast, Sean Young said Weinstein exposed himself to her on the set of the 1992 film Love Crimes. He pulled out his genitals in an attempt to shock her.

Young responded bluntly saying, “Harvey, I don’t think you should pull that thing out—it’s not very pretty.” She left immediately and never met with him again. However, standing up to him earned her a reputation for being “difficult” in Hollywood.

All these allegations and criminal accusations gave birth to the #MeToo movement, where women of the industry started raising their voices against any s*xual misconduct or abuse. It went viral all over the world, and many big names faced scrutiny and legal charges, and many had to lose their careers as well.

The industry also started looking at such cases more seriously, and intimacy coordinators became a constant for every movie dealing with intimate scenes. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences expelled Weinstein. Many companies and business tie-ups distanced themselves from him, ending his career ultimately.

Harvey Weinstein’s case is a reminder of how position and power can lead a person to a dark path, especially in the glamorous world of the entertainment industry. However, it also shows how a collective effort can change things for the better.
