According to a new report, fans should already be bracing themselves for devastating character deaths. Insider Alex Perez recently revealed that Kevin Feige and team are planning some heartbreaking moments in the upcoming movies that will reportedly be even sadder than Infinity War wiping out some fan-favorite heroes. Avengers: Secret Wars report suggests more heartbreaking MCU deaths are incoming
Avengers: Infinity War remains a scarring experience for most MCU fans for its emotional ending, which not only saw the titular heroes lose but also half of them were decimated. The team is expected to return in a new form for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.
Insider Alex Perez recently revealed some details regarding the upcoming movies. During a Q&A session on Cosmic Circus, Perez answered some fan questions, with one fan asking whether the upcoming films would kill off some of the fan-favorite heroes.

Perez made the above statement, hinting that Doomsday and Secret Wars would have devastating character deaths.
If the report proves to be true, it is safe to say that Kevin Feige and his team are planning to further devastate the fans by killing off some fan-favorite heroes. Moreover, given that the films adapt the Secret Wars comic event, it is safe to say that practically no character is safe from decimation.
Avengers: Secret Wars will likely pit MCU heroes against other heroes
During the same fan interaction, Perez also revealed that the upcoming films will have a tone similar to Infinity War and Endgame, with a sense of dread looming over them. Moreover, the insider also teased that several heroes might face-off against their variants in the movies.
There’s also the matter of the heroes we know going up against heroes (and villains) from other universes.
Perez made the above statement, suggesting that fan-favorite heroes and villains will fight alternate versions of themselves in the upcoming movies, which will make for some interesting on-screen moments.
Given that Battleworld will be a major setting for the two movies, it is likely that Doctor Doom’s manipulation will be responsible for heroes being pitted against each other. As a result, it makes sense that there will be multiple casualties in the fights and some deaths might be irreversible compared to Infinity War, making them even more tragic and devastating for the fans to watch.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released on May 1, 2026, with Secret Wars is scheduled to be released on May 7, 2027.
