I ditched foundation to even out my complexion – I swear by a 2p hack that reduces puffiness and brightens out skin tone

WITH summer right around the corner, many of us are looking for less cakey alternatives to heavy foundation.

Luckily, one thrifty beauty lover has come to rescue, recently sharing an affordable hack that not only evens out the skin tone and reduces puffiness but it also completely natural.

According to the influencer, the answer to a brighter complexion is turmeric, which you can find in Aldi for less than a quid[/caption]

According to brunette stunner Victoria Benitez, the answer is simple – and it’s already sitting in your kitchen.

With Victoria’s method, rather than lathering on layers of thick – and oftentimes pricey – foundation, she uses just two common ingredients – turmeric and water – which she then freezes into small ice cubes.

Showing off her simple trick, the young woman, from the US, said: “Everyone is always asking me what foundation I use in order to get a bright and even skin tone.

”Baby, I’ve never heard of foundation. I just use turmeric and ice cubes.”

She then went on in the video: ”If you want to fix darks spots, any discolouration, you want turmeric.”

According to Victoria, the cupboard essential is packed with antioxidants that will brighten your complexion and help with inflammation.

Research has shown that turmeric can help calm and soothe irritated skin, as well as boost microcirculation and leave skin feeling stronger and more supple.

The beauty lover explained: ”Because I’m using ice, it’s going to improve your circulation which is going to reduce any puffiness and swelling – so automatically, you’re just going to look lighter and brighter.

”You’re literally going to look like you’ve just walked out of the ocean, like you’re a mermaid.”

Once she’s kept the homemade remedy on her skin for a while and let it do its magic, Victoria washes it off in the shower and pats it dry with a clean cloth.

To prove that she hadn’t applied any make-up on her skin, the brunette beauty went over with a paper towel – and revealed a gorgeous glow that was totally natural.

The influencer, who also uses beetroot on her lips and cheeks to save money on blusher and lipstick, chuckled in the caption: ”Foundation who?”

If you fancy giving Victoria’s trick a try, you can buy a 40g jar of turmeric for a mere 69p from Aldi.

With just a teeny amount needed for each serving, this hack works out at just 2p a serving, making it perfect for those on a budget.

Top 3 beauty products every woman should be using

Hayley Walker, Beauty Expert at Justmylook shared the holy-grail products every woman needs to be using.

A cleanser, SPF, and hair oil are must-haves within beauty routines.

A cleanser is crucial for healthy skin as it removes dirt, oil, and other impurities for flawless skin. This skincare step not only cleanses the face and removes dirt, but also prevents breakouts and premature skin ageing, helping you maintain a healthy, youthful, and blemish-free complexion.

The Aveeno Face Calm+ Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser is a go-to of mine due to its gentle formula that soothes and restores the skin’s appearance and texture.

SPF is non-negotiable and should be in everyone’s daily skincare routine.

Even on cooler, cloudier days, our skin is exposed to the sun’s UV rays which can be harmful to unprotected skin and even lead to damage. These damages include sunburn, pigmentation changes, and wrinkles which can impact the skin’s texture and appearance. In some cases, prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause skin cancer.

Applying SPF daily prevents these damages and protects the skin from harmful rays. I recommend the Beauty Of Joseon Rice & Prebiotic Sunscreen PA++++ SPF50+ for its lightweight, non-clumping texture that absorbs quickly for a natural finish and maximum protection.

Hair oil has many benefits and should be regularly used. This treatment can strengthen and protect the hair from external stressors while improving its appearance and shine. Regularly applying hair oil can also reduce breakage and even encourage hair growth for longer, fuller locks. Hair oils also target the scalp, reducing dandruff and improving its health through exfoliation.

I recommend using this deeply nourishing treatment a couple of times a week or more depending on the hair’s moisture levels. The Hair Syrup Rapunzel Pre-Wash Oil Treatment is a nutrient-rich treatment that revitalises strands to promote a happy scalp and healthy-looking locks. Apply the syrup throughout damp hair before washing; massage from root to tip and allow the formula to penetrate strands before rinsing and styling.
