PETE Wicks has seemingly referenced ‘that’ kiss between his ex Maura Higgins and Danny Jones, with a source close to the star saying he’s ‘pleased’ he’s no longer with her.
In a bid to remove himself from the drama, the ex-TOWIE star, who split with Maura on Valentine’s Day, was also said to be happy to avoid ‘this sort of attention.’
After the former Love Island star, 34, split from Strictly Come Dancing Star Pete, 37, last month, she publicly accused him of ‘cheating.’
However, it seems the tables have now turned following her alleged kiss with the married McFly singer.
“This sort of attention is exactly what Pete doesn’t want,” a source close to Pete told OK! magazine.
“He’s seen this sort of media circus happen when he was on TOWIE and it’s not the sort of relationship he wants.”
“It’s a shame because it will probably bring his guard back up and he just wants to find someone he can genuinely love.”
The couple had dated as Pete danced on Strictly and Maura competed on I’m A Celeb, where she first met Danny, a member of McFly.
The guitarist, 38, is married to Georgia Horsley, raising more than a few eyebrows when pics of him and Maura sharing what looked like a passionate kiss emerged following last week’s BRIT awards.
The singer has apparently held crisis talks with his wife following the incriminating images being published.
According to The Mirror, Georgia, feels “humiliated” following her husband’s intimate moment with Maura and is reportedly prioritising their son’s well-being amid her husband’s scandal.
“Georgia is struggling at the moment,” said the source. “She isn’t just having to navigate the circumstances, but doing it publicly,.”
“She has been humiliated. People are quick to forget there is a child in the middle of this mess.”
Danny and Georgia, a former Miss World, married in 2014 after meeting in 2009 at a Miss London event.
However, according to reports, the disgraced McFly band member had liked a sexy snap of Maura on Instagram prior to the pair being pictured kissing at last week’s event.
The I’m A Celebrity co-stars had allegedly kept in touch following their time together in the jungle.
The pair became firm friends after starring together in the most recent series with a source telling MailOnline: “Maura had kept in touch with Danny since I’m A Celeb.”
“The majority of the cast have kept in contact, but Maura had been complimentary towards Danny.”
“Maura is friendly with everyone but, still, Danny is married and therefore the tone could be deemed inappropriate.”
